Doc Emrick and Chico Resch should be in the Ring of Honor.
@Ted-NJ 100%!
Amen to that.
Homer announcers.
@@p00l95 Sam Rosen and Joe Micheletti are homers.
@@p00l95 Sam Rosen and Joe Micheletti are homers.
Picked up my Timo jersey last year. Going to wear it proudly at the rock.
@kfree1966 you know how I feel about Timo! Great jersey choice.
Colin White was a loyal beast of a devil! He could crush the beers too! After 2003 cup win, he was riding in a limousine in nyc with other teammates. Had the driver stop at msg and he hoisted the cup on the steps of msg. Dude is a legend
@Johnnjdevils45 that is amazing. I’ve never heard that story somehow!
Claude was my first jersey. Broke my heart when he didn’t come back after the 95 run
@@Death_To_Kong he was on the 2000 Devils
@@DreWhite100 I am aware, but it killed me when our playoff MVP was gone in 96 and we missed the playoffs that year.
@Death_To_Kong Same! And had to watch him win a Cup with the Avs the very next summer, while we missed the playoffs!
@@runninwiththedevils I almost bought his Avs jersey, but couldn’t bring myself to wear another team. Thank god too because after 2001 I despise Colorado.
@Death_To_Kong I could never do it. I hate the Avs forever because of 2001
John Madden also won a Selke in 2001. Skated hard every shift, one of my favorites.
@deansmith6593 Underrated Devils legend for sure!
Macdermid, Dougie and Timo are my next jersey pickups.
@zachw4829 3 stellar choices!
claude when he scored the game winner in the playoff series comeback against flyers. i remember claude signing autographs at woodbridge mall in nj #22
@natas8256 Claude was THE MAN!
John Madden is an underrated player for sure, especially on the PK. Undrafted, if I remember correctly, and was crushed when he left. When Noesen said he was wearing 11 for Boyle, it tripped my brain up 😂. (No issue with Boyle, just still associate 11 with Madden.) I legit think that every team should want a guy like him on their roster.
@ED-op7wk Madden was the man. You can't win without at least one guy like him. It would be nice to have multiple!
2 things
1) love the shout outs to the 2 time cup Devil legends. Colin White. Randy McKay. John Madden. These guys are what takes a team to the Finals (we have a few on this current team!)
2) random, but was watching PK Subban highlights. I know he doesn’t have a great time with NJ, but I’d argue he would have killed on the 22-23 team. I also really wish we had someone with his shot on the blue line (other than Dougie)
@pucksnpicks The 2 Cup guys will forever be amongst my favorites! I believe we added some character guys this summer for sure. I wish PK's stint lasted a little longer. It was his time to enter the next phase of his career in the broadcast booth.
John Madden is my all time favorite Devil, so I 100% think he should be recognized in the Ring of Honor, and how great would it be if Maddog and Pando were reunited behind the bench for the Devils down the line! If it were up to me, Brylin and Chico go to the rafters. Brylin was a career Devil who could play all over the line-up and stepped in wherever he was needed in order to help the team win 3 Cups. Chico played 3.5 seasons with the Rockies/ Devils, was the team's first goalie in NJ, but also was on the TV broadcast for 15 years while serving as one half of arguably the greatest play by play duo of all time, and he''s going onto year 8 of radio. He's represented the Devils in every way on and off the ice and his commitment and contribution to the organization should be appropriately rewarded.
@salvatoredibrita1028 I love Chico, but I don't think you can retire his number. His contributions to the franchise are more off the ice than on.....
@@runninwiththedevils I should’ve specified that for Chico it wouldn’t be his number being retired, it would be the same way LA and Buffalo “retired” Bob Miller and Rick Jeanneret, respectively. Both organizations have a microphone on their banners, but Chico having played with the devils is a bonus
@salvatoredibrita1028 I would fully be on board for that! Absolutely....
Every number you mentioned who it reminded you of, I said the same player. The good old days!
@devils13 The good old days indeed! Hopefully the 24-25 Devils give us some of those feelings again!
@@runninwiththedevils Love the channel - great work getting us through the down months
@devils13 Thanks for watching. LET'S GO DEVILS!!!
Agreed, the two cup winners are all strong candidates for RoH + Lou, Doc, Chico.
@jma.87 Absolutely. Let's see if we get another inductee this year....
Fond memories of past Devils greats such as White, Peluso, Madden, Pepe and Arnott immediately spring to mind thanks to the number choices of our newest additions, thanks for doing this, it's so very cool to see.
@jonathanchin3396 What a group of guys. Thanks for watching. LET'S GO DEVILS!!!
Let's go Devils!
@prophet1020 LET'S GO DEVILS!!!
Going for MacDermid this year 👊
@Johnnjdevils45 I absolutely LOVE Kurtis! 👊🏻
Out of the 5 players that have won 3 cups with the Devils, 4 of them were defensive roles; Marty, Stevens, Niedermeyer, Daneyko. What's that saying again? Defense wins championships. And we're finally back to that mindset
@randomnameisrequiredapparently DEFENSE FIRST! Hopefully this years team is a little more reminiscent of the Cup winning Devils!
I agree that Lemieux and Madden deserve recognition in the ring. Personally, I would love to see Muller and Richer. Just me, I know.
@eugenehewitt2917 There would be some who agree with you. I just think they have to prioritize some of the other guys who warrant being in there first.
Also, any Conn Smythe winner should be in the Ring of Honor, imo.
You should ask how many Conn Smythe's Uncle Daddy has won ;)
@TravelinDevil76 agreed!
Claude Lemiuex belongs in the NHL HOF.
Dillion , I will say, is the perfect heir to to Colin White's #5.
Dillion is a brick shithouse & I am very excited to have him join the team. A legitimate thumper.
Very excited also about Kovacevic. I feel he has a tremendous upside & a very under the radar addition.
Mike Peluso will forever be my guy. I could go on and on.
Peluso sobbing while winning the Cup is one of the lasting NHL images of all time.
I hope he is well today will all his CTE issues.
47 sucks. Hopefully Cotter is what Fitz thinks he is.
Noesen with 11# is perfect.
Boyle & Madden excude class, grit, and respect. Noesen is the perfect man to take up the mantel. Noesen is a lunchpail hardhat type of player the people of NJ can get behind.
@yoholmes273 Claude is a legend. I am excited for Dillon. I think he is going to bring the pain. Mike Peluso will always be special for us old timers. I agree about Noesen. Hopefully he represents the other #11's well!
Dermy and Timo next. Let's see what the ice brings but probably Kovacevic in due course. We share the same birthday this month, funny enough. I also have family friends from Montenegro. Not optimistic about Fanatics though. The Draft Day jerseys looked really baggy to me, like you could sail a ship. We'll see.
@mariad3798 That is awesome! I think the Draft Day jerseys looked baggy because all of these kids are toothpicks! LMAO!
@@runninwiththedevils I thought that too, but then I went back to video of the 2023 draft to compare and Bedard's jersey looked like a narrower cut to me and more structured. But I'm no expert! You're gonna laugh, I changed my mind. I went from "don't love it, don't hate it" re: Black #8 to I love it now. I ordered a Hischier one because I wanted the Adidas version before they disappear. I like the lettering of his name on the black background. Now that I have it in my hands, it is beautiful, the red is really subtle but still pops. Up close, the details, the stitching and the variety of textures are amazing. Very fine. It's not so obvious from far away or reproduced. I guess this proves to me I cannot not love anything Devils! 😊
@mariad3798 I will say, the numbers and names really pop on the black jerseys. I am very curious to see how different the Fanatics versions end up being. I will eventually be doing a side by side analysis at some point next season! I am a sucker for all Devils jerseys as well!
I wanna get a Silayev KHL jersey but it might be to early. Already have Gusev and Sharagovich.
Id wait until he cracks the NHL. Anton will be a star for years in the NHL
@MrAaron194 Don't jinx it!
Pesce better be great if he's gona wear that number.
Lemeiux is my all-time favorite..
Peter Zezel also wore #22. RiP 🙏
@@yoholmes273 You must be a lot of fun at parties
@bted The #22 definitely holds great weight to us old timers! Claude was the man
Oddly, the first player that came to mind for #8 was "The Sheriff" Vadim Sharifijanov....lol. My favorite number is 74 (birth year) and I don't recall a Devil ever wearing that number. A bit off topic, but did you know that Satan's son (6'7" 190 lb Center, Miroslav Satan Jr.) was drafted by Washington in the 7th round this year. How did the Devils not draft this kid...I need that jersey.
@huskyunchained WOWWWWWWWWWW! What a name! Vadim Sharifijanov! I did see that about Satan's kid. For years the joke was we need to get Miro on the Devils. Unfortunately it never materialized
You bring up how there's people complaining about not getting these big superstars in free agency or trades and how they don't get that you don't have to have big star players to be a successful team... Does anyone exemplify that fact more than John Madden? Never a superstar, but those of us who watched him play in NJ sure as hell knew what a crucial role he had in the team's success and Cup runs! Even Claude Lemieux wasn't looked at as a huge star, he was seen as more of a pest (which he was lol), but he was playoff MVP which should tell folks how important he was. In fact, the NJ Devils won 3 Stanley Cup championships and went to 2 other SC finals without ever having a team loaded with superstars. They were always the team that scored by committee, that personified TEAM FIRST mentality over star power. If you have the right pieces in place, you're good to go. Even pawns can topple a king.
@WaltBTB Agreed. And for that reason, I do believe Madden is one of the most underrated and underappreciated players in franchise history. But don't kid yourself, those teams that went to *4* Stanley Cup Finals (1995, 2000, 2001, 2003).....ALL had Marty, Stevens, Nieds. All time legends of the game, lol.
They must of just added as I've been waiting for it, but Markstrom jersey on the fanatics website #25
@troymachine As expected!
Ace Marky is wearing #25 and Foote is switching to #29!
@alexrusso7517 I figured he’d get his number 😂
Did you get a new light for the studio or is that saturation just going crazy?
@stikfigzz I moved some stuff and messed it up. I gotta tinker with it later to get back to where it was
I will seriously consider getting a Pesce if things go well at the end of the season.
@dimostenisn.4642 I feel the same way about newer players. However, there are a select few that I wouldn’t wait if they ever became Devils…
@runninwiththedevils My bet is that if we had gotten Zadorov, you would have gotten one. Am I right?
@dimostenisn.4642 Nope, but you're on the right track....
@@runninwiththedevils would that be Stamkos then?
@dimostenisn.4642 I forgot about him. I would have broken my rule for him too. But that one I had in mind was BRADY!
Probably not buying retail of these guys since I plan on getting a MacDermid and Timo gamer. I’m definitely not buying a $450 Fanatics MiC.
I’m wondering what the prices of the new Fanatics jerseys and the release of Authentic On Ice jerseys are going to do to the price of Game Worn jerseys?
@TravelinDevil76 I like where your head is at! $450 is a bit nutty. I don’t think it will have a massive impact on game worn jerseys, but some people may see the sensibility in opting for a game worn vs. an authentic on-ice Fanatics at $450
#6 Tommy Albelin: ‘95 and ‘03 cups
@Cape-Dweller Another two time Hoister!
The only one in non consecutive years I think
#8 = Dainius Zubrus
Underrated Devil
@zubrusfan1 I enjoyed Zubrus while he was here. Very heavy on the puck! I remember when he was on a line with Jagr, our cycle game was very difficult to play against...
Hey ace it's your buddy from Connecticut, Jimmy, I'm just curious and I know this has nothing to do with this segment but what do you think about jakub voracek. Just curious and I think he will come cheap
@jamesmikelskasjr.64 I like Voracek, but I think Fitz is mostly done. Going to be super tight with the cap, and he is going to have to work some magic to free up space to make a move at the deadline!
Those people complaining are NHL no salary cap players. 😂 We have to pay Luke and Simon 💰
@pattylonglegs3353 Both of those boys are going to get HEFTYYYYYY raises
Jeff Friesen belongs in the ring of honor. #12
@DreWhite100 He had a great run in the 03 playoffs, but I can't see the Ring for him
Randy McKay!!
@kevinrich5312 he’s certainly on my list!
Are you excited for Fanatics or think they should have chosen someone else? Also you you picking up a jersey of anyone?
@mattwygs7525 I’m not a fan of Fanatics. But it seemed inevitable they’d get the NHL. I would have loved to see Nike get a league wide deal. They did some select teams in the 90’s. I will buy game worn jerseys for my collection. I will forever wear my old school legends jerseys as opposed to current guys!
👋
@prophet1020 LET'S GO DEVILS!!!
YOO ACE :D , Just wanted to tell ya I'm goin to the Series in Prague!! ,
If i may ask, do you prefer meier at 28 or 96 ?
@G0BBORO0 I liked 96 better truthfully. I have his #96 helmet!
Yo Ace..
@michaelcentalonza593 what’s goin on Michael?!?
#BringBradyToNJ
@@runninwiththedevils - #BringBradyToNJ
I still associate #5 with Eric Weinrich.
@davidchimes3464 going even further backkkkkk
@@runninwiththedevils Been a very devoted fan since 1990. Grew up in the heart of Rangers country in South Brooklyn and wanted to be different. Got hooked in by reading about how Lou got Fetisov and have been a fan ever since, bad years and great years. For some reason I remember the first two years of teams better than even the Cup winners.
@davidchimes3464 Brutal place to grow up as a Devils fan! That is an awesome story. Hopefully this group becomes the next dynasty!
@@runninwiththedevils Dude, there's a cup or two in our current core and I can't wait until we open in Europe in October! Best looking roster since the Stevens-Brodeaur era, yes, on paper better than 2012.
@davidchimes3464 If this core doesn't produce at least one Cup it was a MISERABLE fail by everyone involved
Just retire Mike Peluso jersey already! History will be made
@sst6601 Absolutely love Mike!
Peluso doesn’t warrant it on his own but I wouldn’t be against some sort of crash line banner
I used to go to games at Bryne as a kid all the time. My friends and I would go to the glass for warmups and just stay behind the net for a game.
I was at the first ever NJ loss to Tampa Bay
Nj had previously beaten them every game they ever played.
Before they were called the "Crash Line", I as a kid made a huge sign that said "NJ HIT SQUAD" with the number #21, #16, & #8 on it.
Mike Peluso saw us at warmups and point to us going crazy. He then started flipping pucks at us the entire warmups. We must have gotten 5.
The game stunk and we lost.
I left the arena early which I never do.
As Im standing there by the exit.
Mike Peluso bursts the doors headed to his car. (The game ended 10 mins ago).
I was scared but ran up to him. He lit up. He was so thankful and generous. He told us how he saw us and it made his night. He autographed my signed (30 years later I still have it).
Next game NJ played Boston.
Out during warmups comes Mike Peluso wearing the A on his chest!
Nj won that game.
That year was 1995 & I truly feel that lose to Tampa really kicked the boys in the nuts hard. Whatever Mike said or did, Jacques gave the A for the next night & NJ ended up winning the Stanley Cup that season.
One of my favorite all time hockey memories.
Mike Peluso is the real deal. Just hope he is ok these days with all his CTE issues.
The man paid the price.
@EdwardVanVino In a video awhile back I mentioned that maybe "THE CRASH LINE" could be inducted as a line.
@yoholmes273 That is an awesome story! Mike definitely paid the price over the course of his career
All for a 5th place finish in the Metro
COLIN WHITE WAS AWESOME...BIG, BAD AND NASTY.........MADDEN AND PANDOLFO WERE SHORTY SPECIALISTS
You dont win multiple Stanley Cups without guys like Pandolfo & Madden
@JOHNSMITH-bi9hr Love them all. Forever legends in my book
@yoholmes273 100%. I am hoping Noesen and Cotter could be our poor man's version of these kindsa guys
