I really like Jake Allen as the number 2 goalie, he's experienced and doesn't panic... but there's no way he's playing all 7 games, Markstrom wouldn't play all 7 🤷‍♀ we're definitely gonna see Daws in net, maybe twice if the first time's a charm. I'm hearin a lot of unnecessary hyperventilating over this trade. Taylor Hall is a JAG. There are other Taylor Halls out there for the Devils to get. As for Rantanen, thank God the Devils didn't make that move. Canes did the same thing when they got Guentzel last year. What did that get them?

Good intro! I still am not confident in Allen, but as a fan I hope he proves me wrong. My prediction is we will either play remarkably well, or very poorly. I don’t think there will be an in between. Really effin heartbroken about Marky though. Marty was the last Devil’s goalie I had this much faith in. I think Marky’s tenacity will help him recover, just don’t want him back too soon, where he risks further injury. I’ll root for whoever they put in net though. LGD!!!

Wow, what an excellent trade for both the Avs (long term) and Canes (short term). Avs GM is one of the best. Incredible move getting value for a player and holding your ground. This is the kind of bold that the Devils will need to accept someday.

Uh, oh! With Markstrom out, this could REALLY screw over the Devils' chances at winning tomorrow night against Montreal or even Monday against Philadelphia.

I'm under the impression that Daws WOULD have to clear waivers when Markstrom comes back healthy... so I doubt we see him called up.

Marky's injury isn't as bad as it could have been, thankfully. What I really hope for is that this situation motivates the team to rally and get their shit together. Keep it simple, play that stifling defense they've been capable of and most importantly, get fired up and get that goal support! Allen will be fine if the boys can keep that lamp lit. Marky can heal up, rest up, and come back in top shape in time for the playoff push. This is something they need to see as an opportunity to prove themselves and not something to distract or worry them. LFGD!

I hope with Marky being out, that motivates the boys to play better. I hope he takes his time getting better. You do not want to rush a muscle injury. I agree..the timing could not be better. Yes, it would have been great if it were the off season, but I will take the 4 nations face off break. Him being out for 4-6 weeks now, means he comes back early-mid March. Late February if we are lucky. Which is the perfect time for him to get back into the groove, and dial in for the playoffs.

4-6 weeks isn’t bad..could’ve been way longer for a tear!! I was honestly expecting the worst (hoping for the best)… I think Allen can get it done if he plays the way he did to finish out the bruins game. LGD
