Hey! Thank you for the video! My 6 year old daughter is getting one of these, she loves animals. Would have been super great if you made a list of the items in your description
Hi ☺ We actually made this enclosure. It is formaldehyde free wood and this one measures 150 x 50 x 50cm. Here is my Etsy shop where I sell the enclosures polarisanimals.etsy.com
Hi! Thank you for the very informative video!! I may be adopting a roborovski hamster and I have a few questions, if that's ok: a) would you say ceramic mugs are safe to use as hideouts/substrate containers? (for example, ones that you would buy at theme parks with cartoon characters on them). I'm wondering about the paint and materials in case the hamster decides to chew on them; b) would you consider the Niteangel Vista (if you're familiar with it) a great, good, or just ok enclosure?; c) you mentioned in a coment that you sell enclosures like yours? Are you located in the US? If not, do you ship here? Thank you in advance for your time and attention 🙂
Hello That's exciting about possibly adopting a robo! Yes I would say that any properly glazed ceramics are okay because they protect the hamster from the paint etc. If glazed they shouldn't be able to chew on them. As long as not plastic or unstable in any way. Re Niteangel Vista - what is the size? It would need to be minimum 100 x 50cm. Enclosures without bars are best too as allow you to add deep bedding. I am afraid we've stopped making the enclosures for now as they're very expensive to make and ship. We are considering how we might be able to make flat-packed affordable enclosures but might take a while to get going. Thanks for your comment ☺
@@stefrose thank you for responding to my questions 😊 The enclosure does exceed the minimum you mentioned, but just barely, it's 115 x 54 cm. It's wood and acrylic, though, so that's good, as it'll hold the bedding inside. I might have to go with it and consider having something made to order a little later, as I'm not really finding anything more suitable that's ready-made. Thank you again ☺️
I need urgent advice, I have 3 Roborovskis (Agoutis) wrongly sexed as females...however...one is a male! Now, I suspect the 2 females are pregnant about to give birth in the next week and need help how to cope with this. Do I return the babies to PetsAtHome and demand them to take the babies or should I reluctantly try to sell them myself? Christmas Robos anyone?
Hi Sorry to hear this! If you are in the UK you could reach out to www.happyhamstersuk.com/ Happy Hamsters UK care for help. It would be better for the babies to be adopted by the right people rather than going back to a pet shop. My main advice is to not give them away for free in case reptile owners get them for live bait. Another option is to join the facebook.com/groups/443082586057672 Roborovski Dwarf Hamsters group and ask if anyone on there would be able to help you rehome. I hope this helps!
Hi, did you have any luck finding a rescue to take your hamsters? I have been thinking about you and your hamsters and hoping they found homes. @@AnnaAnna-x8k
I have a massive village cage and we use the plastic tubes to connect between platforms. we have just added a smaller cage with as much bedding as possible and connected it with the tubes. We are not in a position to have an aquarium glass style 3enclusore at the moment although we do have a tropical fish tank but there are obv fish in it at the moment. So I don't see the problem in using the plastic tubes as connecting routes for hamster. I am confused as to the best type of bedding for burrowing as I am looking to create a type of large burrowing box due to the fact it is a wire cage. any suggestions welcome :) thanks
Yes, many do :) They are likely doing so whenever they need to but because they're in a wheel, they're not travelling away from it afterwards. They might also be scent marking.🐹
Some of infos are incorrect There are 3 types of wood shavings that are safe spruce aspen and birch ( I'm not sure if hemp is also wood but its safe too)
Thanks for your comment - I didn't say anything that is incorrect though- I say in the video that aspen is generally recommended but I personally wouldn't recommend due to the sharpness of it. I also say that wood shavings *can* be dangerous and list those that are. None of that is incorrect.
wow your hamster cage is very nice, lucky little hamster to have a big cage, i am so happy to see it
great video extremely informative and entertaining too , i really enjoyed watching this .
Thank you ☺

That's great that it will hold in the bedding and is the right size. Sounds great! @@mafalda594

Why do robos like to pee on their wheels?
Many hamsters do this. It is just one of their little quirks. 😊
