On the slope of a wooded hill near Merklingen, a district of the town Weil der Stadt in southwestern Germany, there is an amazing testimony to times long past. Hidden in the thicket, walls made of giant stone blocks open up and in places rise more than 7 meters into the air. Are they the remains of ancient pyramidal structures that were once built there?
