We found a first for me! We found... well, you'll have to watch!
We'll be hunting these boxes of nickels for Silver Nickels, Buffalo Nickels, Proof coins, Old Jefferson Nickels (namely semi-key and key date nickels), Liberty V Nickels and 2009's for their low mintage.
Let's keep our fingers crossed and our eyes open for some goodies!

I found a 1943 steel cent in a bank roll earlier! it wasn't in that bad of shape either. Good job on the buffalo and the silver!

Tried some roll hunting today. 3 rolls quarters, 1 roll dimes, 1 roll nickels. Nothing too special, a 1991D dime that seems to be off center, and a pretty nice 1992D nickel.
I know you have had a tough time with these this year but I'm watching this video with a 53 quarter and 54 dime in my pocket that I found randomly in change today.

I happened to find my first buffalo Nickel just from some pocket change laying around it was a 1928 P didnt even need to put it under the scope
Clicked right away. Haven't watched the video yet but I can tell it's a killer. Just finished my worst penny and worst nickel box ever. I did though find 5 Ws in an uncirculated box.
Just want to say I appreciate you displaying the values of your finds on screen. It helps to temper my own expectations when hunting

Nice finds. That is like a typical box here lately from my bank in Midlothian, about 50 miles south. I have been coin roll hunting for 27 years and had a first for me. Box 1 had 13 wheats and a 1900 indian. Box 2 had 6 wheats and an 1893 indian. The first consecutive indian boxes ever, both found wreath side up. Love your videos and commentary. Rob C
2 weeks ago I looked through 20 rolls of nickels. Nothing good. Next time I did 15 rolls and found two war nickels. Pretty stoked.

How do you return the searched nickles back to the wild? Just bring them to the bank in a bag or roll them back up?

I'm not close to Rob. But I have the zinc pennies, most of the copper Lincolns. Some Indian Heads one bird cent, lots of colonial cents because I live near colonial American battlefields so do a lot of metal detecting when possible.

Thanks Rob for another great hunt video. I did a hunt yesterday of pennies. Lots of goodies. Better than a dozen wheat-backs. Some looked like they were cleaned as the color seemed off. I think I may have found a 2009P FS-801 or 802. I need to look at it under a scope. And it's in great condition.
The 1942 at 8:45 got me I really thought it would be silver

Nickels are fun because there is a legit chance at silver or buffs in every roll. Plus a lot of foreign coins. Add that to lower cost of a box and they become very popular for hunts.
I got 10 rolls of uncirculated 2020 pennies today, what should I do with them?
I asked for a box this morning from my bank and they gave me 50 rolls of 2020 pennies to. I listed them on ebay for $7.50 each roll and have already tripled my money by selling 10 rolls already.
People on ebay really love the 2020 pennies

I opened a bix of nickels yesterday and they were all 2019 P uncs. Not much fun there.

Rob, how do you get your boxes? I’ve been getting a little customer wrapped pennies and a few machine wrapped but I’ve never been able to get a full box. I really like to hunt through pennies and I will pay anyone 35 dollars just for a box. That’s all I’m asking for.

Guess I should be thankful for how good my nickels are. Out of the four boxes I have gotten, three of them had buffaloes, and my most recent one had three whole buffalo nickels, one of which was a rarer 1919 D. But I almost never get war nickels, so I guess that's the tradeoff. Lol

I'm definitely not at the stage of sending back old nickels! I've never even considered the possibility of that! On nickels (this is going to sound weird) I keep all that has a mint mark on the back (yes I have many tubes of the 1964's) I also keep all the 68, 69 & 70 S Mints!!
I also keep all the AU' S and up. All the 04's, 05's and the one 2009! Yep I've only found one 2009, but I've only hunted about 21,000 nickels, but still I thought I should have found 9 or 10 at least with that many hunted!! I found the 2009 after 20,000 hunted, so I was getting more excited to find an 09 than the 39's, which I have almost a whole tube of!!
