2017 GMC Canyon key would not release from ignition. Removing a simple pin fixed the issue. No parts needed. #gmccanyon #ignitioninterlock #ignitioncoil
Good job. I havent replaced one in a ford in a while. If i remember right , U send a paper clip in from the front of the lock cylinder. You only have to pop off the decorative cover. Super simple.
So, I own a 2007 GMC Acadia that has done the same. We never, ever, ever, touch anything in the ignition area, farless remove anything. Simply get your jumper cables out and jump your car as if you had a bad battery. It works all the time for us, and our battery is good. If you have this problem with your GMC Acadia, (I do not know about other makes and models) Do that, and come back happy and reply to me. I am a female, and I am no longer afraid of my key locking in my ignition. I know what to do. It works all the time. Every 2- 3 years this happens to our car. We fix it in less than 10 minutes. Oh, forgot to tell you that we go the battery itself behind the passenger seat. I am not sure if it would work Going under the hood. If you try it under the hood and it works, let me know.
I started having this problem about three weeks ago on my 2016 Colorado. I’ve seen videos of unplugging the cable but that allows the key to be pulled out at anytime. So my question is, since y’all have removed this pin, have y’all had any problems with the key getting stuck and does removing the pin allow the key to be taken out at anytime OTHER than park.
