Clean set up man! Ive got the exact same sub and for those asking if it still kicks hard even though being small? YES it does! I have this in my small SUV and didnt want something that took up all my boot space so i went for the slim sub and damn, she goes hard!! 100% would recommend guys!
I put 2 12" L7T's in my 2019 Camaro. I bought a custom-made box (non-ported) to make them fit. They were sold in individual ported boxes (as seen in this video). If you have tons of room, ported boxes are the way to go. If you don't have a ton of space, you can't go wrong using non-ported boxes. I'm using an Audiopipe 1500w mono block amp to run both subs. Verdict: If you want obnoxious "thumping", this is NOT the sub for you. If you want clean as hell sound that you can feel, I highly recommend these subs. Don't get me wrong, they are too loud for my neighbors, but they have extremely accurate sound. Musicians would appreciate these subs more than Hip-hop listeners.
If your sub is 2 ohm dual voice coil its probably wired at 1 ohm to amp, so its getting 800w rms. 2 ohm subs can only physically be wired to 2 ohm or to 4 ohm by itself. 4 ohm DVC subs can we wired to 2 ohm or to 8 ohm by itself.
@@tylermontgomery24 Ah so its likely a sub that has dual voice coils that are 4 ohm each, that way you get 2 ohm at the speaker terminals. Cause its not possible to have a 2 ohm sub and wire it to 2 in any way is what I was tryna say bro
how do you have your amp set? I just got this same set up. I can't even turn my gain to 12:00 without it going into protect mode? I don't believe my electrical is strong enough. I have it at about 10:00 rn and my headlights have a heat beat.
Hell ya, that would be awesome! I seen a setup awhile back, dude had a megacab with 6 JL TW3 12s in a custom box covering half the back window! I know it sounded mean! Haha
Did it have alot of vibration or was that the sub sounding like a rubber band? Where do you get the box combo and how much? It looks clean thanks for the video!
@@tylermontgomery24 Thanks! And in the sub also, you need to drill to fix the brackets? In the manual it doesn’t say where to screw the bracket on the sub, I mean not slots for screws.
Get you a grill boss. So the Solokon doesn’t rub. I had two behind my seats and feared it would rub a hole through the rubber from the carpet. I seen a guy had a leak in his because of it back in the early 2010s.
I had like 4 inches of room when the seat was at its normal position. Now if you reclined it, then yes it would hit the sub. But i don’t run grills on any sub, also don’t own this truck anymore! Lol Thanks tho!
Damn, so mine was a 600 watt rms sub so the 800.1 at 2 ohms is 600 watts perfect match! With 2 subs would be 1200 watts rms, the amp can’t keep up with the subs power demand. That could be why.
@@ricardoespinoza8013 Subs can't burn amp down. Amp is set by gains so without clipping that amp should give you solid 800-900 rams at 1 ohms. You either put the gain too high without knowing how to tune and it was clipping itself to death or you subs are wired to less than 1 ohm. But subs can't pull more watts just because they are rated high. You can run 2000 rms subs on 100 rms amp and nothing would happen unless its not set up correctly. So, check wiring and ground and make sure amp is not clipping and check what your subs are wired to.
Super clean set up man every detail went perfect with the truck. So question about your amp with the way it’s tuned to your amp does it run hot? Because I have the same amp but I have it hooked up to a comp r 10 inch and my gains are set half way htz are 80 and bass boost is 3/4 up and it gets hot to the touch so maybe I was wondering if it’s just my amp or what
I've got the exact same setup but mine sounds like shit. I had a shop install everything but I'm really not impressed with it at all. I can tell that something is definitely wrong but I know next to nothing about setting an amp and my receiver has tons of different settings for a subwoofer I'm not sure if they interfere. Have any advice for me to make it sound right?
Your best bet would be to start over with the amp and headunit eq settings all at zero. Try and tune it by ear, or buy an SMD dd1 to do it more spot on as far as gains! Hope that helps! Good luck!
Yeah I got the shop to install mine and sounded like shit too but tuning it manually ive got it so sound so good. The annoying thing is this sub is very very difficult to tune for some reason idk why but it seems if you tune it wrong it makes these weird boingy sounds. I'm not sure if your amp is the same but my amp has a bass and gain dials so what I did was turn the gain up almost to Max which is around 600watts rms and then tweak with the bass dial I tiny bit up and up untill the boingy sound goes away. It took me months to find the sweet spot good luck with it
Turn that bass boost all the way down. Sounds to me like your having a wiring issue. Consider taking it somewhere else and let them look at it. Your not in Houston tx by chance? Sorry I'm almost a year late. Hopefully you got it banging by now
Can I ask are these lt7 even comparable to a regular l7 or regular more traditional non slim subs? Im wanting to get something for under the seat of my truck, but don't want to be disappointed. I'd like to hear some real world feedback.
I understand that, so it’s a good sub, fills the cab with enough bass to be nice but not crazy. It’s loud but it’s not gonna sound like 2 15s in a huge ported box on 2000 watts either! It does bottom out ok some heavy bass songs with super low notes being that it’s not ported. Other then that it’s a good sub for the money!
Thinking about getting the sub. Concerned that its seems like a pretty small box. I want a single 12 in a big ported box, but I can get this sub for 185 right now and am tempted. Since its an l7, it will play deeper due to the extra cone area I assume. But with the box being so small, do you have trouble hitting loud, very low notes?
Yeah being a smaller sealed box, it does have its limits. If I didn’t need the tool box on the left side, I would have went with the L7 ported box for sure! Some of the super low notes will wash out. But for an all types of music box it’s does really good!
What ohms is the subwoofer? cuz I have the same sub and amp but my sub is 4 ohm. Any way you can tell me you how you set your amp settings? Thank you great video!
It’s a single 2 ohm sub. The amp puts out 600 watts at 2 ohms so they are a perfect match! I think my x over was set at 50 or 60 hz and the gain I’m not sure, then the bass boost is thru my knob on the dash. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!
