So from what I remember about the lore, Silent Hill is an actual place. However, because of demonic and psychic influences it tends to warp and twist depending on the individual person. So two people could be in the same place and see different versions of the same building. Like James sees things as damp and rotten, while someone else might see the same area as scorched and burnt.
@@chandlerburse Does this mean that some people there just see a really normal town? If so, do the "sinners" walk around like headless chickens from the residents' POV because they got used to it?
@ the real world is just a normal town there are people that live there As for the other question i dont know SH3 has one character almost imply that the protags are killing real people and the monsters are just what they see but then he claims he is joking
@@chandlerburse Oh interesting! Thank you for clarifying, it must be so weird for the others to see people like James going around smashing things. I mean it would also make sense if they actually kill real people, but I've also read somewhere that the monsters are very real so I guess the lore is more or less up for interpretation.
1:26:43 That whole reaction, plus the reaction to realizing what the other apartment building represents was priceless. I love watching you, your commentary is the best. Also.... welcome to Other Side (or Dark Silent Hill).
I think the 4 legs enemy type only puts off static when they’re moving, much like stalkers from the Last of Us, when they’re not moving, they’re silent. Ha, just made me laugh reading that back, when they’re not moving, or static, they don’t give off static.
Red Pyramid Head is my favorite character of the game. He’s never looked better and badder in my opinion. One of the best remakes I’ve ever seen in a horror game
1. Yes Silent Hill is a real place, SH1 & SH3 delve into more of the lore of the place so I don't think it's "spoiling" it to let you know that SH is connected to some kind of supernatural dimension. 2. Yes, you can open your map quickly by clicking "UP" on your arrow pad on the controller. 3. I was cackling watching you react to James meeting Pyramid Head and jumping to the otherworld hahaha 4. I appreciate the brightness but hopefully its still in your comfort, dont brighten it too much that ur blinded lol but yeah this game can get pitch dark
I thoroughly enjoy how well this game is able to erode the bravery of seasoned horror gamers like yourself to the point where you're cursing doors that open for you 😂 10/10 content, would recommend.
CHECK YOUR MAP. Try paying attention to those little reticles of interaction. See that weird plus-shaped thing on the other side of your controller from the buttons? That's a directional pad, it's something we used to use back in the day to move things around before the analog stick came along. Why not try pressing all the directions? Maybe one will do something, like, oh I don't know, open the map
So there's a sexual innuendo about that first encounter with Pyramid Head and those monsters, don't know if you catched it... It was way more explicit in the original game. They kinda censored him a lot in the remake.
Yes! Love the introduction to Pyramid Head. Was always such an iconic moment! And there are moments to come! I didn't figure out that you can push that wardrobe aside right away either... The brightness is ok, but could be a bit lower if you ask me. Makes the shadows less washed out. Great episode, Cyn! Can't wait for more!
Also, Silent Hill is based on a real life town. It's called Centralia, Pennsylvania and is basically a ghost town. A coal mine that ran under the town caught fire back in 1962 and has been slowly burning ever since. I think the population has dwindled down to something like 5 residents (circa 2020).
“Is Silent Hill a real place or a figment of a tortured mind?”
“Yes.”
"... where is my wife simulator..." I expected many things, but this caught me off guard.
Cyn's commentary is just as enjoyable as her gameplay. She'll either make a humorous quip or point out something so ironic that I'll have to laugh.
Walter Sullivan is actually a really important character in Silent Hill 4.
25:09, moments such as these are nods to the original game, kind of a collectible of sorts with the dev team playing homage to the original game.

Yes the town is functioning normally in the real world in the games
No game ever shows this though for some reason

@ we dont know if the real world sees the protags or not
I love how intuitively you're catching onto the themes here.
A+ let's play, thank you for sharing.
I was practically screaming at my screen "move the wardrobe!" ahahaha
Me too! And to please press “up” on her controller to quickly open the map. 😂

Thanks for playing the “Where is my wife?” simulator so I don’t have to!
Anytime Charlie, anytime. Also thank you!
The one that is not Alan Wake.
You can break that window, I don’t know why it wasn’t letting you… maybe it was the wrong angle. It gives you some much needed light in that hallway.

1:21:50 the man wasn’t chasing her he was trying to kill the snake

I just finished this game, Cyn! And it was awesome!! I died twice in my playthrough, oh man!
your playthrough gives "im not stuck here with you, you're stuck here with ME" vibes
This episode should have definitely been named map lol
Hey FYI, idk if you figured it out yet but to quickly open the map press UP on the D-Pad.
1:23:33 Cyn, be careful or Pyramid Daddy will rip your skin off... :)
Here comes the boy!
Coin man was trying to kill the snake but coin lady run to her death instead.
Back with more of exciting Silent Hill 2 and everything is really awesome have a great evening and take care Cyn.🕊️🎃🕊️
Fun fact: the actor behind James( Luke Roberts) is none other than Arthur Dayne from got!
and as a very big fan of the original Silent Hill 2, he did a great fucking job.
He also is incredible in Black Sails as pirate hunter Woodes Rogers
1:27:00 I mean, he didn't jump.
I thoroughly enjoy how well this game is able to erode the bravery of seasoned horror gamers like yourself to the point where you're cursing doors that open for you 😂 10/10 content, would recommend.
A horror gamers worst nightmare- a door that opens that isn't clearly the exit

Second vid woooo lets go, also I love your accent
Hey Cyn! In case you haven't figured out you can open map with D-pad Up
So there's a sexual innuendo about that first encounter with Pyramid Head and those monsters, don't know if you catched it... It was way more explicit in the original game. They kinda censored him a lot in the remake.
It's been going good so far. I mean as good as you can be in a place that targets your traumas but you get what I mean😅
"why is he voguing" lol
i love this game so much🥹
I love your accent XD
He`s here.
Silent Hill`s infamous pyramid headed butcher has arived. His intro cutscene is still the same as the original.
its da traffic cone boi!

The brigtness is good for me :)

That’s for the movie only. It has no connection to the game as stated by the original art director.
Thats only the Movie
The devs didn’t base the town on that
When are these children going to learn that the stupid movie has no bearing on this games.
No livestream for silent hill?
Serio.... Grałem 20 lat temu dzieciaku
Cyn I'm sure you've figured this out already but it's Up ⬆on the directional pad to check the Map.
Forget the movie. And yes silent hill is intentionally a labyrinth. Check everything to get a mark on your map.
