I installed the seat belts in my 1971 C3 Corvette using four 1/2-13 2” Bolts and 2 M12 1.75 Bolts for the shoulder straps. I also tapped the threads with a 1/2”-13 Tap.
You should try flipping the one’s you’re putting in the passenger side it should flip that attachment plate outward on the opposite side… just a thought
I’m installing new belts in my 76 but I’m having a problem getting the shoulder strap attach point above the driver and passenger out …it has the same bolt you were showing for the lap belt but it is froze up after 40 years… I’ve tried WD40 and liquid wrench to no avail … its hard to get a grip on the octagon bolt head … any suggestions will be greatly appreciated… thanks
@@Axxess51 That’s a tough one. Sometimes you can actually loosen the bolt by first tightening a little, which may break the rust. If the hex head is worn, try a metric size that is smaller than the SAE. If all else fails, vice grips.
Swap the inboard belts maybe there is a right and left?
@@Rodeo32145 I checked. Both sets are identical. I may put a nut on the inboard bolts, to make the collar stick out more.
I just saw this after I made the same comment lol😂
The belt that goes through the back of the seat will appear impossible, but it can be done. It was very challenging.

@@Axxess51 The plates are part of the seat belts, so they are already on the correct sides. Thanks for the suggestion.
I would put the belt first then the washer, and lastly, put a nut on the bolt before you insert it into the body.
@@mr.boemio7561 Thanks for the input. It’s all good now.
