  • Car Air Conditoning R12 replacement that works!
If you have an R12 system Envirosafe is an excellent way to keep from having to move to R134 and a messy cleanout and conversion to PAG oil from mineral oil.

We always pull it down where it will put out 40°, using the little round gauge. When it all sealed up, enough Freon, and large enough condenser to handle the R134, you’re golden….

I have used envirosafe in the past and it works quite well. It has to be installed exactly how the manufacturer says, otherwise it separates into the components and won't cool. I had that problem and I had to vent the system, pump it down, then recharge it.

Just so you guys know, this R12 replacement is a propane-butane blend. 🔥💥 Up here in Canada this is all we can get without a license.

  • @jeffdriver3000

You should of done a nitrogen pressure test first to check for leaks

There's not going to be a replacement evap core anywhere. That hang down system is so similar to Vintage Aire or Old Air systems, i'd rip it out and go with an all new system.

I converted to R134a a few years back on my '76 Coupe DeVille and it's never been right ever since. were I to go this route how should I proceed? evacuate the system and try again after making sure it holds vacuum? what about the old oil - how does one go about purging that? I added about 8 ounces of refrigerant oil back when I did the conversion..

  • @MatthewG_208

Did you guys have it do anything to convert the system to r134 before charging it, Thanks in advance

  • @robaxelsson530

How about finding the leak FIRST.!! Sealant is the LAST resort..

  • @itneverwasme

Their website is confusing and vague, perhaps on purposes. Can I add this to an existing R12 system after an ac leak is repaired?

  • @dresdensvo

Switch to a Gates green high traction belt . Its fixed a lot of a/c belt slippage for me .

  • @hotrodray6802

Ive used their Envirosafe ES12a "industrial" product for 15 years.

  • @RLTango

This is a great walk through! Thank you for taking care of the leaks and conversion the right way. These refrigerants are no joke.

  • @MrPoppyDuck

    Love that new vacuum pump!

Really great information, thanks guys for another awesome video.

great people. i live in the same city as this company. very helpful.

Nylog blue on the flare fittings is good insurance against leaks. Also used on threaded fittings as well. I did a bunch of 134a conversions back when they were a new thing and back then it was hit or miss if it was going to kill the compressor. There were allot of tricks go get cars to cool better etc. Like using different orifice tubes in GM modifying expansion valves in others.

  • @hotrodray6802

Noted that you did NOT bleed the ambient air out of the charging hoses.

Loved the details contained in offhand comments, thank you. Can you explain how to know if you have enough (or too much) oil in the system? I am about to replace the dryer on an 86 RX-7 and fill with Envirosafe. Also, can makeup oil be poured directly into the dryer? Thanks

  • @stephenhotzjustdriveit

    Good info, thank you

  • @82randyacman

You should use R417c really good stuff run in my 1966 f100 26 supply temp on 100 deg day.
