When Nintendo announced a new Kirby game back in late 2021, I was shocked that HAL was actually developing an actual 3d Kirby game. Hopefully they will make another one similar to forgotten land but even better.
Perhaps a second 3D main game will be called 'Kirby and the Amazing Land'

I think it would be cool to see levels akin to Mario 64, where it's not fully open world, but instead a bunch of smaller open worlds. I don't know if they would need to a mission structure like that game, but I think it would be a good starting point without going fully open world.

I have an idea for a future kirby game:
Kirby is walking but a butterfly appear and kill him, then DeDeDe and Spider-Man team up to kill the butterfly, but the butterfly transform into morpho knight and he invokes Santa, but Santa betrays morpho knight, kill Spider-Man, sent DeDeDe to Australia and takes control of Dreamland. You play as Meta Knight and you have to save DeDeDe and beat Santa.

If Nin10doLand is a Star Allies hater then consider me a Star Allies fan.
Even accounting for its major flaws it really is nowhere as bad as some say it is.
The fact that people feel they have to severely overblow the hate for and talk this negatively of an overall still pretty good game as much as they have just screams to me as direct evidence of how good us Kirby fans really have it.

That game had good soundtracks as usual, but maybe they used too many recurring themes (several were remixes) from previous games as this game was like a 'celebration' since it was released during the series 25th anniversary

As a part-time game dev myself, you don't see as many 3d games because of how hard it is. It's not just that you use 3d mode or something, you have to design so much more for each model and entire 3d environments. The sales do go crazy but for a smaller Nintendo franchise like Kirby, it might not be deemed necessary.

With the switch being at the tail end of its life, it's likely the next to Big Kirby game will be either a launch title or launch a few weeks or months later after the launch of the next console.
Kirby always was Nintendo's "accessible 2D game" aimed to get kids into gaming. That's why it is designed to be simple, because of its target audience. Also, good game design is good game design, be it 2D or 3D. I remember how literally every franchise had to go 3D back during the N64/Playstation era. Publishers and Consumers would shun 2D games because they would believe it outdated design. It was not until Nintendo would challenge gaming conventions with their Wii, bringing back 2D Mario and Donkey Kong games to the living room that 2D platformers were given a second wind reestablishing the genre.

This game is what 3D world wishes it was. Kirby and the forgotten land is basically just that, 3d world but better in every way. 3d world felt so generic and unrefined, I couldn’t bring myself to enjoy it as much as the alternative Mario games at the time
I think the next 3d Kirby game will be Amazing Mirror 2. Amazing mirror was the first “open world” Kirby game, with the player being able to go any path they wanted to a 3d version of this game with the open world genre.

A Super Mario RPG or Mario & Luigi style Kirby rpg where you play as Kirby, Meta Knight, King Dedede and Bandana Dee would be pretty cool.
My pitches for new copy abilities
Combat Kirby: has an pink army helmet and can shoot missiles out his mouth and dash with tank treads
Wiz Kirby: wearing a pointed hat with stars and a small scepter that he can cast three types of spells
Gooey Kirby: Kirby is now a translucent jelly blob that can squish flat and slip through grates and spit goo balls
Paper Kirby: 2D with a cutout of himself colored in crayon Kirby can origami himself into a paper airplane, throwing star and a boat
Sporty Kirby: Donning baseball cap and face paint and being able to smack foes with a baseball bat, tackle with a football helmet and even pull a red card to stop attacks

I got in the series because I saw the trailer for Forgotten Land and had to get it. I loved the game and ended up getting the other Kirby Switch games. I wouldn’t mind more Switch remasters and remakes until we get the follow up to Forgotten Land.

Even though a lot of people enjoyed kirby and the forgotten land, and probably want to see more of that playstyle, I personally think the next big kirby game should be Kirby Triple Deluxe or Kirby Planet Robobot Deluxe or maybe even a Kirby's Dream Collection port. I would like that a lot better because I think the older games should also get remasters like return to dreamland, and because I think there is a lot of classic kirby content that needs to be remastered so I would go with that.

I would definitely LOVE an open world Kirby game, but yeah, I don’t think HAL is really ready to do something like that, it would take a long time. But either way, no matter what the next Kirby game is, I bet it’s going to be AMAZING
I wonder what kind of God we have to fight this time. Star Allies may not have been the best game in the series, but the final boss was amazing. The same applies to forgotten land and returns to dreamland deluxe. The final bosses have always been good at Kirby, but nowadays they are even better

Forgotten Land is GREAT but one thing I don't like about the new 3d format is its copy abilities. Being able to upgrade them is cool, but there are so few of them compared to the 2d games. In addition, because of it being 3d instead of 2d, there is a LOT of limitations with how complex the ability movesets can be. I know some people like it being simplistic, but I prefer having a bunch of moves to use based on the directional and button inputs.
So long story short, I hope they don't just give up 2d Kirby entirely (On an unrelated note... The next 3d Kirby game NEEDS the wheel ability).

I think they might make an expanded version of the Magalor epilog. They could also do the remakes of Triple Deluxe and robobot, the 2 best 2D games. And would I be disappointed if they make a Kirby Star Allies remake. I agree, the games boring.
I got a couple things I really want to see from the labs of Kirby specifically I want to see two different things either a very tone down Mortal Kombat knock off sort of thing with Kirby similar to Mortal Kombat one except add really cool cinematic super attacks or I would love to see kind of like a Pokémon fusion kind of game where kirby can take one copy ability, and then another copy ability and then shove them together, and get an entirely new copyability similar to crystal shards (PS note that I am specific, I want the Mortal Kombat one style of this Kirby fighting game concept)

I love Kirby and the Forgotten Land so much. I hope HAL Laboratories makes more 3D Kirby games. I would love to see one that is in a sandbox style, like Super Mario 64, Sunshine, and Odyssey.
The reason why Nintendo made Mario wonder 2d is because some people get sick from 3d games so they wanted anyone to be able to play and have fun and i think it was a great idea.

Tbh, I feel like Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe (even though it's a remake 2D game from the original) is like a sequel to Forgotten Land and Kirby Clash games. But I would hope for a 'Amazing Mirror / Forgotten Land' as a one whole game would be amazing

I have an idea for a Kirby planet robobot reboot.
Kinda like Kirby’s return to dreamland deluxe there will be a new post game instead of magolor it’s Susie during her travels when she was in the accident. A cool name for the game can be something like;
Kirby planet robobot, rebooted.
And they can add more copy abilities or new ones too! The mech would be perfect! Some new robobot abilities can be crash which is a giant nuke similar to missile in amazing mirror or the newer abilities like sand

i love the idea of an open world 3d Kirby game, i feel that could quite easily go against one of Kirby's core game designs, being easy and approachable for new/younger players. they could pull it off done right ofc, but they would be walking a tightrope i feel
I just want HAL to try to merge the movesets of Battle Royale and Main Series copy abilities to complete most of the Copy Abilities other then that they can make any game they like 2D,3D or Spin off maybe a Kirby's Air Ride port or Kirby Fighters 3 maybe

You know, I've had a theory about forgotten land for some time ever since I completed the game, so I'm just gonna say it here:
Forgotten land doesn't take place on earth... Or at the very least, the Earth that we live on that we know of.
You see during your battle versus Elfilis, You could see the entirety of planet pop star through the portal but when the camera switches perspectives, you don't see the entire planet that forgotten land takes place on.
Another thing that I feel like really supports my theory is how small the cars are compared to how kirby's canon height is in real life. Pretty much every car you see in forgotten land is like the size of a clown car in real life.
But hey, that's just a theory, a game theory!
If anything they should consider bringing back Escargoon in future games

I really wish this new kirby big game would be like:
- the ultimate kirby’2.5d platform game
- 54 copy abilities with 4 new ones
- Helpers systems return from (Kirby star Allies) with a total of 48 helpers
- Dream friends returns with 6 new ones
- New Level system almost similar to the one on “Kirby and the forgotten
- Land”:
- Starpoints no longer give extra lives for 100 each. They are now a value I. The game when can be spent it to buy useful items and more.
- New bet system: you can now bet starpoints at Skull Gand’s Pot before starting a level: more star points you spend on a level, bigger will be the treats and rewards (similar to “Kid Icarus uprising” difficulty system) difficulties levels are the same of star allies’s arena mode but with a new difficulty level Which will gonna be harder than “Soul Melter” difficulty.
- New rune system, equip runes to increase Kirby and friends stats, some runes are named ability runes: Each Ability rune corresponds to a Copy Ability, and either serves to add a new move or to enhance an existing one like the Ability Scrolls from “Kirby and the amazing mirror”. One of these will grant an ability the possibility to heal Kirby and his friends.
- Regular Chests are now accomplished with collectible ones making the chest systems from “Kirby’s squeak Squad” return.
- The ability room is early avaliable before completing the story mode but it has no ability at the beginning, you must unlock them by founding the ability essence deluxe findable in the uncollected collectible chests after finished a game.
- Squeaks will return as mid-bosses
- The final boss theme will be a remix of “Moonstruck Blossom”and “dark Crafter” Theme
- Betting starpoints at the Skull gang’s pot to play story mode on a difficulty unlocked after finished the story mode players will have the chance to fight the soul boss of the final boss on story mode.before fight it in the arena however a stronger version of the soul boss is faceable betting starpoints to playing the arena mode in the highest difficulty.
- The final boss battle is an aerial battle like in Kirby planet robobot. However the soul boss and hit’s strongher version will have an extra regular boss battle phase in arena mode.
- Playing at maximum bet for maximum difficulty, the arena is planned to be harder than Soul Melter EX of star Allies, longer that the true arena of “Kirby Return to dreamland deluxe” and the secret boss in it (stronger than the soul boss) will be harder to defeat than Miracle Matter and Void.
For very important matters if the creators of Hal Laboratory and Nintendo make a new Kirby game one day in the future it would probably be called Kirby Dimensions which would need a whole lot of time to be worked on and cooked in the oven until it's ready which would be fantastic. More importantly the characters that I like to come back and be in the new Kirby game Kirby Dimensions are Bandana Waddle Dee, Ribbon, and Nightmare as a final boss and main villain of the new Kirby game. I also want Nightmare to come back as both the main villain and final boss of almost every Kirby game and behind everything and have 2 or 3 henchmen and an army of nightmare minions. Nightmare is my best and favorite Kirby villain and I want Nightmare to make a comeback.
I have an idea for Kirby future game:
Kirby walking in a calm peaceful morning outside, he saw a mysterious strange gave a strange fruit gain powerful inhale ability, but King Dedede ate gain different copy ability than Kirby . But suddenly a mysterious stranger is revealed to an evil sorceress used evil to the world and summons Kirby's Old Enemies: Marx, Daroach, President Haltmann, King Dedede, Taranza, and Morpho Butterflies Knight becoming villains team-up to get revenge on Kirby and now becoming evil overlords throughout the land. Evil sorceress true goal is bring back the late-Quenn Sectonia with dark stone hearts. Kirby must help a new friends are Prince and Princess from different dimension, learned new copy ability: Rose, Vanguard, Dinosaur, and Skater! A new copy ability evolution from different paradox.
kirby wouldn't work in a sandbox style because unlike mario the main focus isn't the platforming. the linear 3d with some exploration is perfect for kirby and they should keep making games in the same style as forgotten land

As a long time Kirby fan, this game was a godsend. I completed it 100%. Aside from the gameplay, the best part of this game for me personally was how gorgeous it looked.
Regarding kirby star allies, while it was extremely easy, it was a joy to play. While not as good as the Wii or 3DS entries, its worth playing if you like kirby.

I feel like it would be better if they continued to make more linear 3D kirby games. I think an open world game isn’t really for kirby, as kirby isn’t very movement based like mario and it would be rather boring to explore everything.
Even tho I do think HAL would make an open world game work somehow.

I say a good chance we will see a remaster port of any of the 2 Kirby games coming out later next year. We'll probably see the new 3D Kirby game sometime in 2026.

Kirby is a beginner-friendly series, you can't go too complex or hard to pick up with it. That and the fact that his base moveset is very limited means that confidently, the Kirby series will NEVER *EVER* work with a 3D sandbox/open world setting. Besides, I'd personally like a new 2.5D game instead, more in line with Kirby 64. Most elements of that game have never been seen again after that game, and it'd be nice if HAL came back to those concepts and expanded upon them. Either way I'm not playing any new 3D Kirby games until my boy Bubsy gets another 3D entry, lol.
Not gonna lie I'd love to see other copy abilities appear in a 3D environment... One of my most favorite copy abilities "Wheel" is a prime example
I hope we get a return of playable Meta Knight in the next 3D Kirby game and this time, make it canon. Maybe the villain steals the Halberd and kidnaps Meta Knight's crew, so he goes on his own solo quest to rescue them. By collecting materials in his stages, the player can go to Blacksmith Waddle Dee and have him forge new swords, capes, masks and other weapons that give Meta Knight new abilities similar to Kirby's copy ability upgrades. Eventually Kirby and Meta Knight meet up and the villain possesses the one you aren't controlling for a boss fight (in Meta Knight's mode Kirby becomes Devil Kirby, like in the anime) but afterward they team up and take down the villain together.
One of the only things I didn't love about Forgotten Land was that it felt like Meta Knight was underutilized. His boss fight was just kind of tacked on and while the figurines mention Meta Knight exploring the Forgotten Land and even fighting the Beast Pack, we never get to see any of this in-game. They should have given us a Meta Knightmare DLC to flesh out Meta Knight's role in the story more.
I hope we end up getting a Dynasty Warrior themed Kirby like what they did with Hyrule Warriors! Star allies just seemed to make a good roster with its dream friends and Forgotten Land gave me a feel for it with the Morpho Sword ability!

Star allies was my second Kirby game my first was forgotten land
I never played Kirby when I was a kid. But ever since I bought the forgotten land to c wat the fuss was about, i really enjoyed it. Then I decided to get “return to dreamland deluxe” and “star allies”, haven’t completed them two but they look great. And like u said, I reckon they should remaster the planet robobot and the triple deluxe as it’ll bring more people in to play them and more money to the company.
Kirby planet robot 3D seems crazy
I think Kirby thrives in a tight environment that allows for access to bigger, more involved exploration. Kirby is built to be accessible to young children, so it'll be a unique challenge to make a game that is bigger but isn't intimidating.
But I trust Hal to pull it off.

Please, please, PLEASE let Tiff and Tuff be in this game! Escargoon already got his chance as well as Max Flexer, Shiitake, and NME Salesguy, and the anime keeps being referenced, so let them be playable characters please!!! Also, I hope the mage sisters return, they’re my favorite dream friend!

there needs to be a Kirby game, where there is a button in the corner of the screen that let you “Switch”between 2D & 3D; like in Super Paper Mario for the Wii. That would be awesome!! 😁🤩
