Just FYI: the MCU is meant to be watched in order. There's way too many clues spread throughout to go without it. Go to Wikipedia and type in MCU and find out the right order to watch them. Trust me, playing catch up in weird directions is not fun.

They really made hulk weaker in the movies compared to the comics, in marvel comics hulk is/has the potential to be the strongest character, some of his weaker feats include
Catching and supporting a collapsing 150 billion ton mountain range using barely any leverage. (Marvel Heroes Secret Wars #4)
Tearing through a bunker designed to resist the explosion of a multi-kilo-ton weapon. (Incredible Hulk #177)
Matching the Super-Adaptoid, who had acquired strength and durability of over a hundred heroes like Iron Man and the Vision. (Incredible Hulk #469)
Closing the door of a nuclear core that the combined efforts of Thor and the Thing couldn't budge. (Iron Man Vol 2 #6)
Redirected Gladiator's beams back to his eyes, instantly knocking him out. The blasts were said to be hotter than the sun. (Incredible Hulk Annual 1997)
Matching two Avengers teams during a prolonged period of time even though the Hulk was gradually weaker due to a physical separation from Banner (Incredible Hulk #321-322)
Unleashing intense gamma energy shock waves from his body, Hulk almost destroyed the entire East Coast with a single footstep, while also threatening to destroy the entire planet... and even then he was revealed to be greatly holding back! (World War Hulk #5)
Destroying the Crypto Man after its physical strength became superior to that of even Thor (Incredible Hulk #205)
Overpowering Thor on several occasions (Hulk: Let the Battle Begin #1, Incredible Hulk #440, Mighty Thor #385, Avengers Assemble #4)
Pushing two spheres of matter and antimatter apart (Marvel Team up Annual Two #2)
Pulling and holding the tectonic plates of a planet together, a planet that's mass and gravity far exceed that of Earth (Incredible Hulk #99)
overpowering sufficient force to change the orbit (Tales of astonish #89)
Destroying a planet and the surrounding planets/moons in the Dark Dimension, threatening the entire dimensional/universal realm (The Incredible Hulks #634-635)
Destroying an asteroid that's twice the size of Earth in a single blow (Marvel Comics Presents #52)
Applying force to the space-time structure itself to prevent the Defenders from being absorbed into a fissure (Defenders #3)
Smashing and crushing Adamantium with his bare hands (Incredible Hulk #228; Marvel Team-up Annual #2)
Overpowering and shattering Onslaught's armor, whose power and armor were equal to those of a Celestial (Onslaught: Marvel Universe #1)
Sending concussive energy through countless dimensions after clashing with Ironclad (Incredible hulk #305)
Destroying Nightmare's Realm with his sheer power alone (The Incredible Hulk #299)
Crushing the enchanted uru hammer of Nul: Breaker of Worlds with his bare hands when The Serpent/Cul and his avatars known as The Worthy were at the height of their power (Fear Itself: Hulk vs. Dracula #3)

The first Frost Giant in Marvel comics was Ymir, introduced in Journey Into Mystery, an old Thor comics, back in 1963... so if anything at least that is way before G.R.R. Martin wrote even the first chapter of A Game of Thrones, as Martin was only 15 when the comics released. So it could've even been the comics that somewhat influenced the appearance of the white walkers...

If it helps, when it came to Loki, he was overshadowed by Thor all his life and was always made to feel unworthy. When he said "I never wanted the Throne, I only ever wanted to be your equal!" pretty much summed up his whole life. His life, which felt like a giant lie when he found out his true origins. After that, he felt like he was past the point of No Return, especially during his fight with Thor. That's why you could see tears, because he felt truly lost and there was no going back to how things were.
His plan was convoluted sure, but he thought he could justify being able to destroy Jotunheim if he made it look like they broke the peace. It all came from a place of hurt and sadness, ultimately it broke Loki.

I think he was also fairly responsible for the script, or decent parts of it. He's certainly written some great stuff, but he's written enough bad stuff that I stopped considering him a favorite. Babylon 5 though is definitely top notch and he was the primary creative force on that. And even with some unexpected roadblocks that life threw up in the way, it stands very tall on its own merits.

Interesting how you compared Tony’s character development to Thor’s, specifically in regards to their completeness. Personally, I think Tony’s development being subtle and gradual makes it feel believable and earned. Thor on the other hand sort of becomes a completely different person over night, which is especially weird for someone over a thousand years old.

The main difference is Thor HAD to become worthy for this movie to work.

Loki being a bad guy is totally spoiled from the get to if you know anything about Norse mythology :D
Since the Thor comics are based on these stories, it's no surprise. The historical mythological Loki is a very interesting figure, oftentimes at odds with the gods, scheming and betraying and tricking people to do what he wants, and usually getting found out or beaten or humiliated for it - but he always gets back into their favor and gets accepted back in spite of all his fooling around (He does turn completely evil at the end of the world).
He is the quintessential trickster god.
The other characters also resemble their deity counterparts to some extents, but some are just broadly inspired by them and others completely invented or only share a name.

I highly recommend that you read up on Norse mythology. It’s filled with fascinating stories and amazing characters. The Gods in the Norse religion unlike other religions were not immortal. They were born, grew old, and died. They were more like Humans which made them super relatable. In the mythology, Thor was super arrogant at first. He matured into a hero. One time, he swallowed his pride and crossed dressed to save his sister, something his younger self never would do.

  • @shanajeangedeon9060
    @shanajeangedeon9060 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

What Loki did to Odin was honestly well deserved, but Loki does regret the things that happened to his mother. Odin wasn't as nice to Loki as the movie makes it seem, he didn't even hide his favoritism towards Thor all his life which led to the whole of Asgard doing the same, he once punished Loki's lies by sewing his mouth shut for a very long time, and never even considered that Loki might want to know his true heritage. Loki does take things way too far, but I honestly see why given how horrible Odin was to him; he didn't do much for Loki other than just helping him not die, he never acted like a real father. His mother, Frigga, was always kind to Loki and treated him with the same love she gave Thor, she taught him how to use his magic, and she always comforted him when he was sad. Loki doesn't think of Odin as a father, but he thinks of Frigga as a mother and of Thor as his big brother.
