Hi mam, Should I cook the appam on low, medium or high flame ? Once when I tried to spread my appam batter on the chatti, it just lumped up at one place and it won't spread, is it because of high heat ?
The appam needs to cook on medium flame and the chatti should be not very smoky hot.. and as soon as you put the batter.. make sure you turn it really quick..
+Tarla Dalal Yesterday when I tried appam, first couple times there was no problem in spreading, then it wasn't sticking to the chatti it was just sliding off to the center, after I cooled it down a bit then only I was able to spread it. Please note that I use a non stick appam chatti. I never asked my mother about this. I'll ask her also.
