    Listening to an Auzzie (Australian for those that do not know) accent is hard going, but really appreciate the videos. All helpful and informative. Many thanks from your mates in Christchurch, New Zealand.

    You don't need to remove air box to replace air filters.

      Hi Mate, ok next time I will try and slip them out without removing the complete air box! Cheers Drew

    My w164 2007
    hesitate or doesn't accelerate brutally
    I think I have to change air filters and clean air flow sensor maf
    Can be a solution ??

      Hi Mate, Yep, I reckon cleaning all sensors is a good start mate! Also have a look at changing your PCV:

    If it's possible, it would seem most economical to retrofit the w164 intake boxes as the filters are much more affordable.

      Hi Mate, interesting comment. Agreed they are excessively expensive, however having worked on mine I think I actually prefer the setup on my car! Cheers Drew

      @@DrewFixIt I don't consider myself exceedingly eco conscious but the W166 intakes sure have a lot more plastic than seemingly necessary. Thank you for the video, it is very helpful.

      @@mfactorypatrick145 agreed, however the entire “y intake” is stronger and it clearly the overall design is designed better to eliminate dirty air going into the turbo. Cheers Drew

    I've not seen air filters that come with all the housing before. I'm guessing that makes them substantially more expensive. Do you have a cost for them?

    • @DrewFixIt
      @DrewFixIt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The aftermarket RYCOs were about $100 from memory. Cheers DFI

      @@DrewFixIt I think these are meant to reduce labour for the mechanics as you can probably just lift the top off without removing the whole box out. Sucks that they cost so much since you are forced to replace the upper plastic portion. Did you have to reset some air filter and air flow adaptation in the ECU?

    • @DrewFixIt
      @DrewFixIt  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@juian6 Hi Mate, no I didn’t have to reset anything in the ECU. Cheers Drew
