Sorry Scotty I just bought a 2024 Camry TRD. Wanted the last year for the V6 and really like that body configuration and the best of both worlds cluster. Digital and analog gauges.
We have a 2010 Toyota Sienna with 250k miles. The powered side doors doesn’t work, the speakers are burnt, the dvd player needs to be replaced, the back charging ports in the 3rd row are dead, but the transmission and engine is perfect. This is the most reliable car I’ve ever had. We’re going to drive it until it dies.
@@wt9653 I’m not too sure about trading in my old 6 cylinder gas engine for the modern hybrid with the 4 cylinder. The v6 engine is still powerful and quiet at high speeds. That V4, I imagine, is going to sound like a sewing machine.

My 1998 is just a baby. It got my van with 119k 8yrs ago for $2400😂 I over paid KBB values by $400. Disabled and desperate for a reliable van and my last money at the time. My Sienna saved me from financial disaster. I repair everything myself. Its got only 170K no rust, needs lids painted. I wax the bald spots anyway. The wing windows only function when temperatures are cold. Who cares. The AC blows a blizzard. I added a SONY Bluetooth stereo, custom wheels a hitch and transmission cooler. My Sienna will run forever!
2011 Venza V6, and a 2013 RX 350 here. Both paid off, right at about 120,000 miles, and have had all maintenance things done. Both are fantastic rides, and we plan on keeping them until the wheels fall off.
I bought my 2009 Rav4 brand new and now it has 118,000 miles on it. Still runs great and I love it. The biggest repair so far was a new AC and nothing else. Funny enough I bought this car when my wife was pregnant with my son. Now he's 15 and I'll be passing it down to him for his first car. Crazy how fast time goes lol
A 2009 with only 118,000 miles & the A/C went out?? I have a 2008 F-150 4.2 V6 with a 5 speed manual with a little over 200,000 miles & it's 100% all original, and it's always loaded & pulling a 7x12 trailer.
I bought my 2006 Sienna at 157K mile with $4700. It is now 199K mile and so far, very pleased with it. I converted it as a camper; it is my second home now. It saves me a lot of rent when I worked weekly out of my home state.
I have rentals and I am looking for a new car. Seeing that most of the minivans can take a 4x8 sheet with no problem. Definitely on my list! You’re smart to use them, completely covered and better gas mileage than a truck.
My 2000 Camry was my reliable car for years. Then my daughter used it & then to my 3 nieces, one at a time, got them through college & their jobs. It’s still rolling!
hi i went from owning a 1991 Chevy astro for 17 years to a 2005 sienna for $2900 searched for 3 months with 168k mi. 5 years ago removed 2 row seats ..$1000 for new plugs and coils.. new front tires $200.. doors work manually and regular oil changes... not perfect but a good van
Mr Scotty Kilmer you definitely enjoy yourself making videos. We owned a 2006 Sienna until this Spring with nearly 300K miles when my son took it to Tulsa and it got stolen, wrecked/totaled and abandoned, engine still ran. We bought it brand new and later in Dec. 2008 credit crisis I lost my Job, so I cashed in my 401K and bought 4 bounce castles, couple of waterslides later. We took out the middle seats, hauled those bounce castles 3 each trip with blowers and extension cords/equipments, my 2 sons, 11 and 12 and I delivered bounce castles, later even waterslides and sandbags around the city. The struts never failed, only thing I replaced was the starter and the plastic pipe return to the radiator. We went on vacations to Texas, Colorado and New Mexico several summers in it, it even survived a black bear trying to break into it.
have a 2008 sienna..was my daughters old flower shop van. I took it over cause I needed a car..163,000 mi.goes great..new brakes, battery, tires, charged a.c and i use it like a pick up..its actually my shed..drive it daily and I love it!!!!
I have 2019 Sienna minivan. And chickens and a big dog. My bicycle fits along the back seats. I can carry bales of straw or shavings, and feed sacks in it. Along with a large dog crate. Plan to take care if it and drive it until the wheels fall off, and if I have to buy another car, it will be an older one without all the electronics and fancy gee gaws.
We drive a Toyota sienna 2009 with 275k now.transmission and engine still run perfectly!! thinking about getting a newer one but keep that one as second car.
I have one of those. 2006 sienna with 238000 miles. runs great. I can put 3 mountain bikes inside standing up without taking wheels off. The bikes love the all the luxury.
I have a 2010 Corolla that I rarely use since I retired in 2019. It has 70,000 miles on it and I have had several offers for it. I’m reluctant to sell it . We prefer to drive our 2019 RAV4.
96 T100, 3400 engine, 5 spd 200k and everything with as it should. Ice cold AC, hot heat and cruise control works perfectly!!!! All that's been done is water pump, timing belt and oil change every 5k miles!!! I love this old truck and she is EXTREMELY RELIABLE!!!!
I had a 2000 Sienna with just under 500k miles and was going to keep it even though I bought a 2015 RAV4. A good friend was in a bind for a vehicle and I sold it to him for 500. Last I heard it was still around haven't seen it, but still running as far as I know.
My Honda Pilot with 375 km on it ….DID BREAK THE TIMING BELT !! So don’t be fooled Avoid interference engines Go with engines witu timing Chains ?? Cheers Love Scotty Thanks for all you do 👍👍👍
2014 sienna 231K miles, Best/most versatile vehicle I've ever owned. Bought new & I've done all the maintenance myself. Every major component is original. Took out all rear seats to move my kiddo to college. Left them out and "Vanna" averages over 24mpg I will keep this vehicle until the wheels fall off.
The 3mzfe engine in this van , highlander , lexus es330 is one of Toyotas best engine . Though it is said to be an interference engine there are testimonies on forums where the timing belt broke with no damage to the engine. I have this van with 227k miles , drives like new as I maintain it quite well. I have taken care of all problematic areas and I will get over 300k miles. The key is maintenance and a van that is 20 year old it is easy to see how to fix issues and are well documented on forums and youtube. My van is a keeper
I bought my 2004 new and still driving it today!!! I’ll probably die before it does,….and there’s no shortage of family members who are gonna fight over it when I’m gone 😂. They all have borrowed it over the last 20 years to move kids to and from college and homes and trips all over the country. It has more room than my Tundra and I love it!
2006 Toyota RAV4 with a 3.5 liter V6 5-speed Automatic and almost 222,000 miles still running strong and shifting smoothly. Still getting 22-23 mpg mixed driving and 28 mpg on the highway. I absolutely love my RAV4.
We bought a 2006 Sienna is 2012 and have 255k on it now. We’ve been thinking about getting something newer but…maybe not! We’ve replaced the timing belt and water pump twice and a few other repairs but we’ve definitely gotten our moneys worth!
True. Paid $1000 for mine in 2015, paid another grand to fix everything; replaced an engine bone and a radiator since then. Of course, regular oil changes and tires. Today, it has over 250,000 miles, starts like new and still gets new car mileage. It's a 2000 Toyota Sienna. Edited to say, I did change the alternator.
I have that same van with 274,000 miles.....didn't even know til this video that it has a timing belt....I thought it was a chain. I've not changed either the timing belt or the water pump BECAUSE the damn transverse mounted engine is CLOSE to the passenger frame and motor mount etc. It's a BIG damn deal to get at that stuff.
The Celica is amazing! I miss those, but I'm in an 02 Solara SLE, and it's great! I'm sad now, bc I guess the frame is bad and no one will work on it without a new frame, which is over $10000 in repairs :\ If only I had my own welding tools and other parts... 🤦♂️ The NE is horrible on cars
Thanks, Scotty. The most boring vehicle I ever owned was a minivan. It was also the smartest vehicle I ever owned. But, being it was a Dodge, the tranny soiled the sheets at 90,000 miles and that was the last Dodge I've ever owned.
Really like most of your videos. Bought my Mazda 3 new 12 years ago and have not even had a bulb burn out. It has 66000 miles on it and I plan to keep it 12 more years.
We owned one of these in 05, and it was the most comfortable, reliable and quietest vehicle we ever owned! In fact, I still regret trading it for my 2008 Tundra: not because I haven’t liked the Tundra ( I’m still driving it), but because it was such a premium van! Now the darn things are around 60 large, and I’m retired. So I won’t be buying anything new anymore.
I have a 03’ Toyota Tundra with 230K miles and 13’ Toyota Tacoma with 120k miles both running fine. Older Toyota models are reliable vehicles so Scotty is right no need to buy these new models. Im keeping mine until the wheels fall off
Picked up a 2013 sienna with all the bells and whistles with 140,000 for 12k not a steal but in the ballpark of what it should be. Majority highway miles. Owner gave me binder of maintenance records, that was the deciding factor.
@@donisaacramos It was a used car dealership near my house. I'm still shocked at that price. It was probably because of high mileage. 150,000 miles. But it's a Toyota, so it'll last a while if I take care of it..
@@shalawndudley2094 You're smart. A couple of years ago I shopped for a used Sienna and got carried away with a certified 2017 one that had low miles, forgetting that they're reliable and last a long time. So I ended up with a monthly payment of almost $400, which quickly became a drain on our finances. I sold it to a local Toyota dealer after getting 3 offers from others. They gave me the $20,000 I asked for, which was very satisfactory, and I got my money back from the extended warranty that I bought with it. Used some of the money to buy a 2009 Forester for the beach where we live on the Washington coast. Now I want another, older, cheaper Sienna for camping with disabled husband and 2 dogs. I'm focused on one with no console or removeable console so we can step through to the back without going outside.
My 2005 Toyota Highlander only lasted til 97000. VT winter road salt and bad roads ate the body up! I think some mechanics gave me cheap parts. I can't prove it, but one used my credit card to try and purchase an air bnb in CA!😫 MY BANK WAS ON IT! And I took care of it!
I bought a 2024 Select MAZDA CX50 have no problems so far! but not even 1000 miles on it yet! but dont expect any problem, was sick of my old RUSTING OUT CAR if it wasnt rusting out I woulda kept it! but its embarrassing driving a rust heap! and no it wasnt possible to fix without spending a minimum of 14,000 dollars!
I have a 1994 Camry that I bought brand new. It never gave us issues and had over 400k miles before we had to change out the engine. We are still driving it today.
Just got a 2000 Avalon with bench seat and column shifter with no sunroof. 195k miles. No rust. Has a weird vacuum leak if you stomp the throttle too quickly. Leaking back valve cover. Been too busy to diagnose or fix. My girlfriend likes it so much she parked her 2016 Corolla that has 30k miles. But we like the Corolla just fine. Just rougher ride, noisier, and less power. Tired of the fear and stress of the newer cars. I want knobs and less tech.
2003 toyota sienna ce 160k miles original engine and transmission and 2007 honda odyssey 255k miles orginal engine and transmission not a single problem on these
talk about timing of this video..as i literally JUST bought a used 2006 Toyota Sienna last weekend! 170,000 miles and managed to nab it for $2500! The AC didnt work and apparently the rear ac was disconnected, a check engine light with p0171 & p0174. I did pay a shop around $1300 to fix the front AC cuz this TN weather has been HOT, so it was necessary. The rear ac unit will have to wait. as far as the engine codes, i cleaned the MAF sensor today and will just have to see if they come back on. There IS a slight clunk when turning, but i haven't investigated yet. Overall, it drives fantastic! Hopefully it will last forever. Great Vid!
I had a couple of Mercury Villagers that ran great but both had real problems with the radiator build. One broke the neck off as casused the engine to severly overheat blew the head gasket, still ran very well ,of course woukd fail emissions. Bought another ,same damned problem. Leaked out fluid and engune froze in the winter ( my fault for putting only water back in for emergency) Still ran very well after freeze thawed. Donated to Vetrens organization.😁
We have Toyota Sienna 2008 and it is only 160k miles. We almost rent a van for our two week road trip but end up driving our Sienna 2008 and saved almost $2000. Our two weeks road trip is 4300 miles from Houston tx to PA and FL and back to Houston. The van was very easy for the road trip and very roommy.
I lucked out finding a 2007 Toyota Corolla with 66,000 miles on it. Runs like a dream, and I'll have it forever! Im 52, hopefully this will be my car for the rest of my driving life
Have a 2007 Honda pilot bought for $3000 December 2019 at 196,000 miles and now it’s at 276,000 miles July 2024. Plan to change the belt at 100,000 miles (294,000 miles) around December- January 2024-2025 still going down the road perfectly!
Dear Scotty, About the t-belts & interf-engines: Some lexus ls400s and other toyotas did have t-belts break between 180k-200k miles. Are there ways to long t-belts? Any hacks at all?
When I was a kid, my parents had 2 Toyota Camrys. Both DIESEL! 45+mlh/gal. from these '84 models! 400k + miles each. The only reason they had to quit running them is because Toyota stopped producing replacement parts. Right now, we are driving WV DIESELS. One Jetta. One Passat. 2012. Fun to drive. 44 mph. Sadly, it's hard to find a garage to do maintenance. Even VW garages turn their snooty noses up at them.
Scotty, I got a 2013 Camry SE with almost 300K. Still runs pretty good. Very slight miss at idle, but undetectable driving. Transmission is starting to give a little issue. If I get in my car in the morning, start it and drive, it will not go into 6th gear until I manually downshift for about 5 seconds then back to drive. (shifter not paddles) Only then will it go into 6th. I've tried waiting till the car had warmed up for about 30 seconds, then a minute , then 2. No change. Only will it shift perfectly after the car is to full operating temperature. Now, once this has happened, I can park the car for 5-7 hrs, get in while its now cold again, and it will still shift perfectly. It only gives me the issue when its been sitting 12hrs or more. I was going to take it to Toyota for diagnostics, but considering what they did me about 50k miles ago, I really don't want to go back. So, does it sound like the trans is going out or is there something I can try first? I was told years by one old mechanic to never change the fluid in a high mileage car if its never been done before. Well, this one has never been done. Also, check engine light has never been on. EVER.. Thank you sir.
Still have our 2008 Sienna with 195000 miles and engine still going strong. Could use new struts and one of the door motors went, but otherwise runs great. Love it other than the mpg.
2008 Tacoma with 275k on it. Bought it ten years ago with 50k on it. Runs great, even better no new car payment. Wife has a GX470 with 225k and daughter with a 2013 RX 350 with 145k, both run great. Can’t beat the reliability of Toyota/Lexus.
2006 RAV4, 4 cylinder, 80k miles. Would run fine, then get a sudden appetite for crankcase oil - four quarts in a a hundred miles, then back to normal, if you managed to notice it.
: ) Bought a 2012 AWD SIenna, hard to find BUT WORTH IT, only 39K on it. May have to keep as long as I can, new ones are too much $$$$$$, and not available :(

I'm in agreement with you!
Me, too!
Fact
My Honda Pilot with 375 km on it ….DID BREAK THE TIMING BELT !!
So don’t be fooled
Avoid interference engines
Go with engines witu timing Chains ??
Cheers
Love Scotty
Thanks for all you do 👍👍👍
2014 sienna 231K miles, Best/most versatile vehicle I've ever owned. Bought new & I've done all the maintenance myself. Every major component is original. Took out all rear seats to move my kiddo to college. Left them out and "Vanna" averages over 24mpg
I will keep this vehicle until the wheels fall off.
2007 Toyota 4Runner 4.7 V8 120k and running like a champion here 💪💪
I bought my 2004 new and still driving it today!!!
My old neighbor has a 2000 Camry. 360k miles. Original engine, transmission, etc. Still working!!
What's an engine bone?
I have that same van with 274,000 miles.....didn't even know til this video that it has a timing belt....I thought it was a chain. I've not changed either the timing belt or the water pump BECAUSE the damn transverse mounted engine is CLOSE to the passenger frame and motor mount etc. It's a BIG damn deal to get at that stuff.
I loved he secret compartment under the front armrests. The rear a /c went so we just sealed it off
2001 Celica here. I LOVE IT!!! Wish they’d start making them again!! ❤❤❤
Love the Celica!! ❤️
The Celica is amazing! I miss those, but I'm in an 02 Solara SLE, and it's great!
I'm sad now, bc I guess the frame is bad and no one will work on it without a new frame, which is over $10000 in repairs :\
If only I had my own welding tools and other parts... 🤦♂️ The NE is horrible on cars
They are ...looks like a corvette type
Thanks, Scotty. The most boring vehicle I ever owned was a minivan. It was also the smartest vehicle I ever owned. But, being it was a Dodge, the tranny soiled the sheets at 90,000 miles and that was the last Dodge I've ever owned.
Anybody who has ever owned more than one is probably dumb.
Thanks for the very good tip on a very good vehicle. Made in Indiana a plus as well.
vintage first gen sequioa 4x4. 100k on V8 motor and trans... 360K on chassis... J vin.. its a keeper @ 3 grand! going up in value!... good tip.
"We'll give it a little gas...It's not a race vehicle, but its not a turd either" LOL!! Scottys a Gem!!
Really like most of your videos. Bought my Mazda 3 new 12 years ago and have not even had a bulb burn out. It has 66000 miles on it and I plan to keep it 12 more years.
I have a 2011 Kia Sedona with 302000 miles on it, still runs greatand has never needed any work at all besides oil changes and tune ups
08 Element runs great. There's a little transmission jiter in second gear. No biggie. I had an 96 Corolla that gave me 425290 miles. It was a gem.
Finally I see my van again on Scotty’s channel ❤️😁
Toyota tundra 2000 club with 280,000 miles still running like a clock 4.7 l v8 engine
I have a 03’ Toyota Tundra with 230K miles and 13’ Toyota Tacoma with 120k miles both running fine. Older Toyota models are reliable vehicles so Scotty is right no need to buy these new models. Im keeping mine until the wheels fall off
The center sunglasses container is actually a “bus driver” mirror… I think Toyota calls it a “conversation mirror”
Picked up a 2013 sienna with all the bells and whistles with 140,000 for 12k not a steal but in the ballpark of what it should be. Majority highway miles. Owner gave me binder of maintenance records, that was the deciding factor.
I just recently bought a 2007 Toyota Sienna XLE fully loaded. Everything still works. $2300. I love my van!!
How’d you find a deal like that? Marketplace? Offerup?
I can't prove it, but one used my credit card to try and purchase an air bnb in CA!😫
MY BANK WAS ON IT!
And I took care of it!
Love Scotty’s videos with the laughing horse. Oh ya always great information on vehicles.
love you scott, im ready to buy one sienna, hard to find in floridabut i keep looking
So much info in 10 minutes! What a guy!
The Sienna is a great platform. The 3rd Generation is a sweet ride. Good post Scotty!
2003 toyota sienna ce 160k miles original engine and transmission and 2007 honda odyssey 255k miles orginal engine and transmission not a single problem on these
If you want a Sienna with a timing CHAIN instead of a timing belt - buy a 2007 or newer.
2010 + have fewer quirks.
talk about timing of this video..as i literally JUST bought a used 2006 Toyota Sienna last weekend! Great Vid!
My 07 was $4k with 84k miles, now has 128k miles and is going strong.
YOU sold me!
That's all I drove when my kids were growing-up.
NOW, that's all I want.
Got a 1987 Toyota pickup with 27k miles. It was a Toyota RV duely. I took the camper off now it is an 11 foot flatbed with duel's.
Sweet.
i bought 04 about 6y ago 275,000 best van ive ever had. i did have to change front struts when i got it, bought it for 2800
I serviced one of these with 421,000 miles. It was a Taxi, guy came for oil every 3 weeks.
Im 19 and I have an 08 Camry se with 194k miles it burns oil but it drives and runs fine 😊
The 07, 08 09s had a different engine. It will get worse. Go for 2010-17 or okd one.
Our 2004 Odyssey is still running strong with the original transmission, exhaust, etc.
VERY important to do transmission flush and fills every 30-40k miles.
We can't keep older Toyotas on our lot. People are paying attention. The new Tundra is definitely not moving, nor does the Tacomas really
Really?
I love my 2010 toyota 4runner sr5 it has 233 k on it runs like new
I have a 2006 Toyota Sienna with 280k on it, bought it new and took care of it. Runs great!
98 Sienna here. Very reliable vehicle.
Love it when he hopped in and said “and of course it’s a Toyota so it’s gonna start right up!”
2012 Sienna has a timing chain.
Move slowly when using your camera.
I've had 3. '79 celica- sold at 323k miles. '84 supra- 235k mi. 2003 tacoma- 136k- keeping till I die!
They last forever , smart purchase
Dear Scotty,
About the t-belts & interf-engines:
Some lexus ls400s and other toyotas did have t-belts break between 180k-200k miles.
That’s my old car! Same color and everything. Mine was a 2005 and I traded it in for a 2021 Sienna hybrid which I love too.
2011 rav 4 still running beautifully. I like it soooo much. So reliable- I’m original owner. Maintain it well and very satisfied customer.
You said you dont see timing belts break and i believe in of it aint broke dont fix it !
Yikes--Scotty must be talking about me--My 2004 Pontiac Montana engine died so I just got a 2009 Sienna---180,000 miles for $3,000---- I love it !!!!
2007 toyota Highlander 347,000 miles still going strong just normal maintenance
Toyota don't build them like they use to. Those 3.3 liter V - 6 engines are bullet proof 😎😎👍👍
2008 Solara. Love it! 140k miles
In my driveway right now 1995 Camry, 2005 Corolla, 2012 Highlander, 2014, Camry, also in my garage my classic car my 1976 Pontiac Trans AM
Scotty's videos are informative and all but the only problem is one has to listen to and watch Scotty Kilmer.
: ) Bought a 2012 AWD SIenna, hard to find BUT WORTH IT, only 39K on it. May have to keep as long as I can, new ones are too much $$$$$$, and not available :(
08 gmc 310k. Runs like new. Never been in shop. Original spark plugs, belt, rotors
The only thing he is leaving out is changing out the catalytic converters.. I think there are 2... expensive as hell
I love my 2008 Sienna! Bought it new in 2007. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Just bought a 2024 rav 4 awhile back
2010 Toyota Matrix is the best!!! 156K miles and going strong. Cranks every time!
