option 1a) cut power to the breaker, remove the physical switch and join the two black wires together with a wire nut, and put a blank cover on.

Perfect timing on this. Just bought a new house about a year ago and now I'm finally getting around to adding smart switches! Hubitat has been great. Been using it for about 3 years now and I love the device support and automation capabilities.

Does Hubitat Elevation sync with HomeKit? I'm blown away by the ability to "warm dim" smart lights using the Button app, but we're an Apple Home.

Is there a smart bulb for a 3 way light socket & can use Alexa to control light bulb?

Is there a button controller with a motion detector also. That way you and turn on by motion and override with the button if u like?

The main problem with the lack of a smart switch isn't turning it off on accident, its when everyone is asleep and you don't want the hassle of taking your phone out to turn it on and you don't want to wake people up by talking to google or alexa or whatever you have when you go to the bathroom or another room and the lights are off.

Disclaimer: You cannot simply use every single switch with Hubitat!!
Zigbee Green Power switches are not supported on Hubitat, and while you can connect them to your Hue bridge (if you happen to use Hue lights and the Hue Bridge to control them) you won't be able to add the switch in hubitat nor use it's events in automations. It'll only be able to directly control lights/scenes within Hue itself, making it very difficult to synergize the manual control they provide with your Hubitat lighting automations.
There's a workaround I'm currently using.. but it's far from pretty and it's very limited in capability, so:
    - Stay away from Zigbee Green Power switches!!
    - If you connect all your zigbee devices to a Hue bridge, get a Z-wave switch if possible or check FOR SURE that your Hubitat will see and be able to use your zigbee switch connected through your Hue bridge!
