Why A Russian Princess Is Buried On Hayling Island

A famous headstone in Hayling Island is now fit for a Princess. The headstone belonging to Princess Charlotte Yourievskaya had fallen into neglect. But Members of Portsmouth's Orthodox Church and the Russian Heritage Committee have restored the grave to it's original glory. Jessica Wilkins reports.

Carole Traynor Because they weren’t related to Alexander II except as in laws, and very distantly at that. The British and Russian Imperial family became linked when Alexandra of Denmark and Dagmar (Marie) of Denmark married the heirs to the British and Russian thrones respectively (Alexander II’s legitimate son married Dagmar). Also it says Queen Mary gave her a pension, so they did the best they could for her. After all, it was not as if she was a Romanov directly related to them.

The Royal Family didn't treat her right they only studying Vanity and Riches and A Form of Enviousness was formed ,Tho they Had a Plot to Get rid of her ,They used Her that's not Royalty tho that's Selfishness and Ego tho
