He is a total virtuoso, both voice and guitar. My favorite artist, followed by Bobby Darin. I’m just discovering now and sorrier than ever I was not born sooner. I sadly missed most of his career.

Glenn was a pro guitar player. Interesting, in the vid that you can find on youtube, he says that his favorite type of performance was to sing duets "with Linda Ronstadt and other singers". He does not mention anyone else.
I grew up knowing rhinestone cowboy and gentle on my mind Wichita lineman but until he passed recently I didnt realize how great he actually was. I watch these you tube videos where he played Galveston with steve wariner. Merle haggard said if there on one person with too much talent it was glenn. Finding this and other old clips I understand what he meant. I wasnt born till 68 , glenn was at the height of his career so I missed it. Some one else commented somewhere he was better than elvis. I'd have to second that. Elvis was the king alright but glenn was so much more accomplished.
Love, respect and great admiration for this legion. But Glen was using cocaine heavily during this time period, that's why he is so skinny here and the "Lone Ranger" song looks almost comical to see the orchestra try to stay up with him! But what a performance it was, Wow! There are very, VERY few guitarists that could match him, and his voice was magnetic! Thanks Glen, and thanks Kim and family for sharing him with us!
I think if you showed up and he only played William Tell Overture and Macarthur Park, you'd have gotten your money's worth. The remaining 75 minutes was pure profit.
