…..One person mentioned a problem with no extended out bumper it is easy to damage the back tailgate (note the tailgate bumper is essentially flush). Thanks for the spare tire video which is ultra important to me since it will be a business use car
We are getting about double the MPG with our 21 vs our 06 Sienna, so we're thrilled about this, but are not anywhere near the 36/36/36 EPA estimate. Other things we like are the: (1) four zone HVAC, no more arguing in the back about what the back temp should be, (2) cooled seats in the summer and after the car has been sitting in the sun, (3) recliner style seats when waiting for appointments and at kids sporting events, (4) bright LED headlights, even better than our last HIDs, and (5) all of the new safety features like rear cross-traffic warning and dynamic cruise control that will bring the car to a full stop. Thank you for producing this content on the minivan we love too! Completely off-topic, what state are you producing from, looks like a great neighborhood with nearby outdoor mountain type activities.
Thanks for watching and all of the feedback! We live in the Reno/Tahoe area. It’s been Smokey here from the California fires this summer, but that aside it’s great here. Awesome access to mountain recreation. It’s one of the reasons we have the AWD van! Cheers!
I'm shopping for a Sienna, I hate the "bridge console". The older models it was easier to pass through from the front seats to the back without having to exit the car. It was even possible to remove the center console. The bridge disconnects the drivers from the back passengers, not a fan.
Thank you for the nice video. 30+ mpg is amazing for a big van. We are considering the 2021 Sienna for our family. Would you mind sharing, Which trim level did you buy? Curious if you have any advice about which trim level we should purchase.
Hi Jordan. We were looking at the XSE and the Limited, but ended up getting the Limited. I'll be honest, the limited now is a lot closer to the XLE trim of 10 years ago. But the only trim they offer higher now is the Platinum and that didn't have enough extras that made me want to drop the extra cash. Definitely check out my other video on the stuff I don't like about the van.....there's a few things that are just dumb (like plastic wheel covers). But all in all, if you can get over 30MPG, you are doing well. That's WAY better than our old Sienna which got maybe 18MPG. Hope that helps!!
Hi Eric. We live in the mountains so this van gets extensive mountain use. We have ZERO problems with highway driving or mountain driving. The van has plenty of power and performs extremely well in the snow/ice. We run it in Eco mode 99% of the time, but sometimes drop it into Sport mode when we want to quickly accelerate, like to get on the freeway or something. This thing will cruise the hwy at 90mph all day, albeit your better gas mileage will be keeping it below 70. Check out my other video where I drag race the older V6. Cheers!
@@DadDoingStuff I ordered a 2022 Sienna XLE waiting for it to come in. I currently have a 2020 Sienna XLE. looking forward to better gas mileage with travel soccer. not looking forward to fighting for the bigger cup holder with the wife.
@@93escotty you are gonna be happy overall. It drives much smoother, and the gas mileage and range is awesome. Good luck on the battle for cup holder space!!
Thx for the feedback. I didn’t know the trim levels used different glass. When compared to our old gen3, this was way more quiet. That said I’ve been in much quieter cars for sure. Cheers!
Thanks for the video. I agree with your 10 love things and 10 hate facts. The most attractive thing is the fuel economy. 30 something is just literally amazing. I'm in the middle of market for a Sienna. Can you share your opinion about buying a platinum trim? Do you think it's worth it?
Platinum trim for me wasn’t really worth it. There were a couple of things like second row heated seats that might have been nice, but overall I thought the limited was the best bang for the buck. I actually like the look of the XSE, but it’s missing way too many features, like power fold mirrors. Platinum is nice if you can afford it, but I think you’d be happy with a Limited.
Hi Tony. We have the Limited Trim, which is honestly more on level with the XLE trim of the past, except when it comes to the tech features. Limited has quite a bit of that stuff, which is cool. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for watching! There are several differences, but here are my top few. XLE does not come with roof rails XLE does not offer digital rear view mirror XLE does not offer leather seats XLE has heated seat option, but not ventilated seats XLE does not offer power folding side mirrors If any of those are show-stoppers for you, get the limited. Note that the spare tire is available on both models as an OPTION. Toyota has a good comparison tool on their site, but I hope this helps!
The wireless charger was something you hated in your video of 10 things you hate about the van..and the bridge console..you contradict yourself from viewing both vids
I like the wireless charger, it’s a great idea. I hate that it doesn’t work. I also like the bridge console, but I hate the way they did the cup holders on it. Thx for watching!
We have the SE with the entertainment package, we chose not to get the "dash cam" option...which was IN FACT the add on of only $300 for this rear view camera, I was totally bummed that it wasn't worded better :-(
That is a bummer. I've come to totally love that rearview mirror camera (which is interesting because my wife doesn't like it). The toyota site honestly was really confusing when it came to configurations and options.
@@DadDoingStuff …I can’t stand Toyota websites for my iPhone 11. Very clunky. 2 star out of 10. They constantly jump around and don’t give you what you searched for

I’ve had a few people complain about the bridge. Looks wise, we like it better, and I like the console shifter, but yes, there is a trade off.

I wouldn't say it's "quiet" especially on the highway that wind noise is bad. Base and mid trims don't come with acoustic glass.

Nope.
