I liked the story where a gentleman she was speaking with, let an off color word leak out. He immediately apologized to Her Majesty, who responded, “You forget, I’ve been married to a sailor for 54 years”. Total class.

I'm 70 years old, I grew up with her Majesty on the throne. There will never be another Monarch like her, she was all class, yet with a sense of humor, very dignified. I miss her everyday, and still can't believe she's gone. It's like this guiding force is gone, in good times and bad. But she did her job, her duty, and did it well. You did your father proud, Your Majesty, Rest In Peace. With All Respect and Devotion.

I am no royalist but that was a formidable woman and with the discipline and composure of a Zen master. She would have commanded enormous respect regardless of position.

When the queen and the duke came to Vancouver (Canada) in 1960, I impulsively ran up to their vehicle and knocked on the glass. Startled only for a moment she regaled us all with her beautiful smile. I was 7 years old at the time!

I met her unexpectedly whilst beating on Princess Anne’s estate in Gloucestershire. Her bodyguards had mistakenly left her in the middle of a field on the last drive. I saw her sitting on a shooting stick. I asked her if she would like me to call anyone, she said no thanks the fools will be back shortly. I spent about 20 mins with her and then 3 Range Rovers came tearing across the field. She calmly looked at me and said “Here they come”. The first thing she said to them was how far did you get ? She was so down to earth with a wicked sense of humour 🥰

The incident when 2 tourists asked did she know the queen was at Balmoral in Scotland quite a few years ago ...she was walking through the Scottish highlands and the 2 tourists were also walking ...thsts when they came across her and her bodyguard...apparently when they found out who they were actually speaking to they were both completely shocked but also found the moment one now they will never forget....one thing I love about this story...she could of easily said who she was but chose to show her fun side...that just goes to show how real she was and also a lady with zero Ego! ...I can't imagine many celebrities doing what she did ...they would of just used their celebrity status and ego to get the tourists go no where near them! ...we miss you your majesty you were and still are our queen...❤❤

I loved her sense of humour, but the real test of a person is when your safety is compromised and how you react. It’s instinctive, she was shot at, had her bedroom broken into, amongst other things, yet displayed calm and self control. What an example to us all. ❤

I am far from a royalist, but ive always had an immense respect for our late Queen, from her sense of humour to her approach towards others. She didnt shy away from getting stuck in doing her bit as a princess during war, that alone is worthy of respect.

In a fairly recent interview, the Queen's dresser & confidante, Angela Kelly, said there was nothing political or pro-EU about the blue outfit she wore to open parliament. Some speculate that the Queen's neck & spine were too painful to support the weight of the crown that day, possibly an (early?) indicator of the bone cancer in her spine that caused her death.

I grew up in Germany and then left for the states.when I was 27. The Queen is who I grew up with, her reign was beautiful. The day she passed I had just left work when the announcement came over the radio. I had to pull over because I was so hard. It felt like I lost a family member. This woman , this Queen was, is and will be history.❤
