At 14:00 Kelly says that for a battery rated at 100 amps continuous, you should use an 80 amp breaker, but isn't that backwards? Wouldn't you want a 125 amp breaker for 100 amps continuous? 125x0.8=100.

10:24 Note: Configure the EG4 CAN Protocol to P02-GRW and the Growatt SPH10000's "Lithium Mode" to "01" (on page 3 of 4 in the battery settings menu). Connect Ethernet Cable to CAN port on EG4 and BMS port (CN4) on SPH10000. No need to configure RS485 and don't use the RD485 Port on the EG4.
@@drapp001 I tried using CAN port but get an error, tried RS485, works good and battery communicates with the inverter, shows SOC & other parameters as well.
@@samba2498 Glad you have it working. Don’t forget EG4 requires a power cycle when done programming. Also, I placed painters tape over unised rj45 connectors to prevent debris from entering.

I just saw a note posted on Growatt website which gives details of various compatible batteries. They did same recommendation as per yours. I did changes and now it’s working perfectly on CAN and 01. How can the inverter monitor L1 &L2 with only one ct clamp ? Just to clarify , I can set the inverter to charge the battery from pv first . Then it will supplement or run the loads by monitoring thru the ct clamps using grid for any overage above the inverters capacity?

Push in cables are a failure point Victron had a lot of inverter burn outs as people used push in connectors for ac people did not pull on them to check they were installed correctly
I like Signature Solar, but I hate Growatt. I was hoping they would drop them in their line up. They are a China based company, and on their earlier products(cant say now for sure) their customer support and solutions are piss poor. Speaking strictly growatt here. Signature solar did try to help at first, but growatt had this open source manual updater that was a part of my unit needing RMA. Signature solar did the right thing. But I had numerous problems with my unit, and no explanation, other than try to update it. I did get at least one update through, and then a different problem occurred. For any future customers looking at growatt seriously, I would advise using any other option Signature has in their lineup. It is probably better and not worth the hassle if something goes wrong with Growatt. Actually, I had a problem with one of the new EG4 products, and it was solved within a week. Not saying EG4 is the best, but you can expect, if you are not the only one atleast dealing with this, they will fix it, and/or probably make it right.
That's funny, when I needed new firmware to update 2 of these units, I had an email back from Growatt within 24 hours. They're great inverters, considering the price point. EG4 products come from China. Sol-ark products come from China. Everything comes from China these days.

According to their manual (Page 11, Section 3.4), a 10kW system calls for an 80A breaker and 6 AWG wire for the Grid, Load, and Gen connections. signaturesolar.com/content/documents/GROWATT/SPH_10000TL-HU-US_User_Manual_EN_202406.pdf. Per NEC code, you are correct, you would need 4 AWG wire if needing to extend to areas longer than 10 ft. Thank you for being a part of our community.
Thinking best to upsize inverter wire 1 click as we work in the trenches and fix many issues. We See many maybe not thinking about all the parts in wire sizing with temperture corrections etc

One thing I noticed. The 80% sizing. You should be sizing that breaker up not down.

@@samba2498 Set the DIP switch to 64 (all on) to program. To operate, set the DIP switch to 1, or to the battery number if you have more than one
