Great project and well done. Did the same thing when I was 30 building a 43 ft steel cutter with a lifting centerboard keel. We did 2 trips around the Pacific Is. and Australian east coast then home to NZ. You feel safer sailing around the coral reefs with steel around you.

Am envious and respectful. A few years ago I had a lead to an opportunity to build my own eco-green eco-friendly home. I was, and still am very keen altho about 7 years older(69!). I didnt believe I could do it, especially as a solo altho it was a community project with a project management team for advice etc. As I was solo and unsure of my own strength or capabilities (it involved lugging and hurling bales of hay around to build the walls, not something I was used to doing in my office career) altho I had some lesser experience of working with wood - I made a door frame for my kitchen! It looked something-like altho close inspection would have seen it wasnt professionally done and it wasnt design your own style. It worked and I could look at it wihout thinking, 'I wish I had taken my time and done that properly'. so it felt right. I will certainly take a look at your home-build vid with gt interest when I get a minute. What a lovely life ethos you are teaching your child. PS: I also have a thing about all things boat. Cant say I would have wanted to build my own but I have seriously contemplate buying and living on one sort or another, from house boat in a marina to ex-coastal working ship but thought that might be rather creepy at night hearing a noise coming from the other end of the 300ft long boat .....

This must have been before y'all got married. Props for marrying the best-looking girl in town! I've just started watching your videos and the two of you have an incredible work ethic. Where do y'all live? I noticed when y'all built your house that some of the things you did were different than we do here in the USA, particularly the framing. We really have to build out our window frame with king studs, jack studs, and headers. I'm not saying one way is better, just different. Your house is awesome by the way so is this boat.

Beautiful and it's possible to get better keeling of the main sail. If you make the following edge of the keel match the following edge of the mast the mainsail will be on keel. This will remove the keel area from the drive area and reduce boom keel heeling of the boat.

I am guessing the fibre glass gives it abrasion resistance. Did I see some going around where the chain rubs
