Mike, that thumbnail is definitely 100% staged! Believe it or not, we were parked up in our Motorhome a bit behind the Travel Beans camper. I recognised the van & when they emerged, that's when it clicked it was indeed. This so called drama took place in the overnight car park at The Kelpies near Falkirk. I saw them talking to the couple (in the thumbnail) who were parked up next to them in a similar camper & for what I could see they got on really well;-) You're right to call it out! Completely fake & it all seems to be about the money! Shame as I rather liked these guys. After seeing the video I stopped watching their content. So...to back you up here, I witnessed this first hand & was a bit peed off when I eventually saw their video, especially with that insulting title! Hang yer heids in shame Travel Beanies!!!😮
This is the problem with social media. It provides a platform for false claims and hatred without any mediation or balanced view being presented. Thank you for calling out The Beans in this instance and setting the record straight. If only all TH-camrs were like you. 👍🇦🇺
Dear Mike, you have some very valid points and as you may remember (or not 😊) I've been visiting Scotland in my campervan for about 17 years. There has definitely been a shift in the attitude to campervaners by locals which in many cases is well deserved. With the onset of the post covid boom in van sales you get with it a new kind of van owner. Those that don't respect the areas they're visiting. They don't take time to learn how to drive appropriately or learn the countryside code, don't pull over to let work vehicles pass, leave rubbish behind, park inconsiderately, don't spend much money locally, etc, etc. Also with the much publicised route 500 there has been a huge increase in traffic but not the infrastructure to cope with it. On my last visit to Mull 3 cars and a jeep type vehicle with a farm trailer were hammering it down the island on a single track road with passing places which they were mostly ignoring. Eventually they caused a bit of a jam forcing a motorhome off the road (and me to pull over to such a degree that i ended up with a nice long scratch down the side of my van). Now I don't think that large motorhomes are suitable vehicles for many of the narrow roads and often they're hired so the drivers are pretty clueless. All this is a recipe for some hostilities especially when locals are trying to get to work, delivery drivers are trying to get to their destinations, etc. I love Scotland, it's people, it's culinary delights, it's produce which I fill my freezer at home with. I buy local crafts as birthday/Xmas/wedding gifts etc. But, I can see locals are often fed up and I also understand their frustrations. If you're new to campervaning please be respectful of your surroundings where folk have to live and work. Loving yr holiday videos 😊
I watch the Beans and enjoy their content. I know the video you are specking of and I tend to think you are over-reacting a bit. Better yet, contact them and go over what upset you. I have never seen them in anyway attack anyone. Like you, they look to be nice and caring people. Just my two cents....
I have wild camped in a campervan in Scotland and I’m an Aussie my girlfriend was Scottish (unfortunately she died in 2021) but we did some camping and we didn’t have any trouble, I also went back to Scotland in April this year to go to my girlfriend’s Album launch that her daughter and Sister had organised, and although emotional for me as it was a wonderful time and filled with love for my girlfriend. When I lived in London in the early 2000’s, I went to Edinburgh to see friend’s from Australia performing in the Festival, I fell in love with Scotland, the people have always been wonderful to me, and as our humour is very close, the majority of people are hilarious. Loved Scotland before I met my soulmate and I love it even more now, a gorgeous country with great people. I hope you have had a great time in Oz visiting your Daughter. All the best for your trip home. I know I consider Scotland to be a 2nd home for me and I lived in England for 3 years, 2yrs in London and 1yr near Brighton, I definitely prefer Scotland although I had wonderful friend’s in London whom I saw on this last trip back.
I've been in my camper van through much of England and once to Scotland I couldn't believe how welcome and accepting the people were. We felt much more welcome there then we do in England.
I am an Iranian born British citizen, and I totally agree with you. No one is allowed to make a fake blog just to get more viewers. Thank you for letting us know about the great people of Scotland.
You are wrong about their historical use of thumbnails as click bait. They have often used suggestive pictures of a half dressed Emma to encourage people wanting to find out more. Whether you think it’s acceptable or not there is no denying it is staged clickbait.
Thank you Mike for sharing that - because I watch your channel I did see that clickbait and felt the same way as you. I'm not from Scotland but I feel an affinity with such a beautiful and amazing country and everyone that I have met from your country has made me feel welcome and at home whether through a screen or in person. The world needs more people like you!
Well said Mike! As a Scot, the stab of shame i felt when I saw that thumbnail hurt! To then see it was based on lies has made me so angry. Their little party trick has just lost them another follower.
For the last 3 years I have spent 6 months each summer in Scotland and I can honestly say I have never been welcomed anywhere better than in Scotland, I have made lots of new friends there. Total strangers have knocked on my van to ask if I need anything and have brought me food. I will be heading back there in the spring.
A fair and honest review of that Travel Beans video, and I admire you for speaking up. There's enough division between our 2 countries these days as it is. Such videos can just make it worse. I don't have a van or motor home, but I have travelled Scotland more than once in my years and found nothing but kindness and goodwill. People travelling anywhere should respect the community and ways of others and never expect anyone to pick up after them, sadly such people exist and anger local folk, who wouldn't be angry if the same was on our own doorstep? Scotland is no different from any other place frequented by holiday makers, etc. I love Scotland as I love England and Wales. We have a small island to share between us. We need to stay friends (and retain our unique senses of humour ! 😂). Love all your videos ❤.
No decision from the English all from Scottish people... love Scotland beautiful and well looked after by English tax payers but we don't mine that we should all look after Scotland and wales.and they should look after the English ..we all benefit from each other. ..you are being delusional,
I've been up to SW Scotland twice this year, as I did last year, to go fishing. I've found that area very campervan friendly with toilets, waste bins etc. The locals I've spoken to are very friendly and as long as you aren't a nuisance and show respect for them and the enviroment then wild camping isn't a problem. I'll be venturing further north up to the sea lochs next year and can't wait. I hadn't watched any of the Travel Beans videos for a while, but was drawn in to watching that one because of the title. They got me hook, line and sinker and can appreciate why you felt the need to respond with your own video.
Well said Mike! As a local retailer in Scotland their fake video is not good for the area. Especially Scotland as a whole. I used to watch them but stopped. Keep up your fabulous videos. Now got my Mum and Dad loving them too. Give our regards to your Daughter and Son-in-law in Australia. All the best. James & Karen.
We came up to Scotland last year in march and can only say we loved it up there. The locals were chatty and extremly friendly. we had no problems at all. Nobody bibbed their horns when we were staying anywhere overnight. Ok if you use you head and respect the people privacy and clean up when you leave, then nobody has a reason to be affended. We are definatly coming back again, such a beautiful country and easy going people. Scotland & Denmark , 2 countries where you fell at home straight away !
I like watching your videos because you throw an objective opinion out there as to the great scenery you have observed here in OZ. This also reinforces our view that we live in one of the most diverse and beautiful countries in the world. My wife and I will be visiting the UK next May to soak up the atmosphere of our Scottish ancestors. Happy travels to you.
We have just spent 31 nights in Scotland in our Motorhome and we were made to feel welcome on the entire trip. The locals made us feel welcome and were always friendly and polite. We will be returning again at some stage. Hope the new Broon van arrives soon! We are Travel Bean subscribers but try to avoid any clickbait sites normally!
Their attitude to your comment on their video, is exactly why we stopped watching them a long while ago. They think they are the best thing on you tube. We love Scotland, it’s people, it’s culture and it’s history. We have never had a bad wild camping experience there. So you might ask yourself why does it happen to them. Attitude may be part of the answer.
At the end of the day, it’s all about money. It does not surprise me one bit. TH-cam, for all its intents and purposes is just like any social media platform. It’s full of scammers, criminals and in this case clickbait “influencers” all for the sake of money. Some people in combination with money makes people do desperate things, doing anything for money. For me, I’m at peace knowing who these sleazy people are. Saves time not watching them.
It needs to be noted that Travel Beans were not wild camping as per the SOAC as motorised vehicles are specifically excluded. This common misconception is causing untold environmental damage as well as hacking off residents including landowners. Any vehicle needs the landowner's permission if off road.
Please get a life i’m sure they could care less about whether you view them or not , Do you know some people just want to find a problem where there’s no problem and looking for excuses to F with people !!! I’VE BEEN CALLED A NAGER ALL MY LIFE, BUT DO YOU SEE ME GETTING ON TH-cam TALKING ABOUT IT SUCK IT UP AIN’T NOBODY TALKING ABOUT YOU AND SCOTLAND YOU WANT TO BELIEVE THAT OFFENDED YOU AND WHAT YOU’RE DOING OH MY GOD I THOUGHT I DIDN’T HAVE A LIFE Some people just wanna make excuses to make videos getting attention. !! That’s why I’m not a TH-camr so I had to deal with assholes !! PLEASE PLEASE GET A LIFE !!l
@@DevelopFromWithin they had a video on their site earlier this year . They parked a hired van opposite a Spanish bar , well surprise surprise when they went out and left the van it got broken into I commented on the video that someone had seen them leave the van and it never occurred to them being parked opposite a bar someone watched them go . They cannot be doing bad as they have an RV in the USA , got a house here and jet off everywhere at a whim You tube must be a good income for them
I’m with you, I’ve never seen your content before, this video popped up in my recommended. I do watch the travel beans on occasions but did see that particular video in my recommended and didn’t watch it because I thought it was click bait. I absolutely love Scotland. I have traveled up from East Yorkshire 4 times this year and have had great times and plan on many more. Admittedly there has been odd occasions of not feeling welcome but no more than any where else in the country and would rather be in Scotland than local to me.
Only ever been to Scotland once, not in a campervan, however, not only is the place beautiful but every local we spoke to was welcoming, courteous and genuinely pleased to see us.
I am planning at trip to your beautiful Scotland and in order to immerse myself in the culture, I plan to rent a campervan. After watching the TravelBeans, I was reconsidering renting one. Thank you for speaking up.
Well said Mike we totally agree and found that we got quite annoyed too with the content not pertaining to the picture. We’re born and bred Scottish and love traveling round visiting new places. We stayed in Fife this past weekend in a beach car park. People couldn’t have been nicer. Thank you for sticking up for our beautiful country 🏴
I totally agree with you, I recently spent three weeks in beautiful Scotland and traveled almost 3000Km and meet the most friendly people and had the pleasure of enjoying some of the Rugby World Cup matches in the pub with some fantastic people. From Ireland, I loved our time in Scotland and the friendliness of the people, Also we felt as safe and comfortable, everywhere we went.
Absolutely hitting the nail on the head Mike! TH-camrs and so called ‘Influencers’ should be held accountable for loading misrepresentations online! Thanks for highlighting! 👍 🏴🏴🏴
"TH-camrs" ‘Influencers’ "IRL Streamers" Etc Think they can go anywhere, do anything, say anything and they are exempt form all laws n cultrual practices cos they are behind a camera and get 0 punishment. the reason being is they reguard time while the camera is rolling of their stream is live as "The Streaming World" "Vblogging World" "IRL World" or "Content World" erc and they also think this Imagenary World they are living in is seperate from the real world and crime and punishment is non existant in that imaginary world cos every action or word is regarded as "Content" if it's done under the guise of "Content" it's acceptable apparently. Travel Beans could have highlighted the whole issue in a more possitive light from the outset but chose deliberately clickbait with the pathetic movie poster thumbnail excuse when it clearly looks nothing like a movie poster with absolutely no effort cos they are trying to grow their buisness though more clicks n views than actually trying to produce any Meaningful "Content" there's that word again cos it's about monetary value than actually fair portrayal. their buisness model is get people interested with lies n clickbait then tell's the truth later very decpetive internet clickbaiting.
Well said I am a softie southern and I have near felt more at home and welcome than the times I’ve travelled around Scotland The truth is if you don’t respect the people and places you visit where ever that my be You will upset the locals and rightly so Things should be shown truthfully! All the best
Hi Mike We've just returned from another amazing roadtrip around Scotland.❤🏴 We find Scotland so very friendly and very dog friendly too. We don't stay in a motor home but have met loads of people on our travels around Scotland who do and all love it. We love watching your videos and they have helped us plan a lot of our trips.
Travel Beans are a great example of how a TH-cam channel can really go down the toilet. I know a few vanlifers who think Travel Beans are as welcome in their community like a cold cup of sick
They do love click bait. It isn’t right to malign a whole nation for a few views on You Tube. Filming their flaming van while others risked their lives as they tried to put out the fire put me off them to be honest. Scotland is beautiful and friendly. That was You Tube’s version of the gutter press.
Thanks for taking the time to do this video…you were spot on…those 2 “supposed angry locals” probably were owners of the white camper van glimpsed behind them…coerced into doing “the pose!”…enjoy the rest of your holiday and thanks again for the video…🙏
Well said you nailed it 👏 , I have had campervans and backpacked around Scotland for over 40 yrs and have never had a problem. I was expecting film footage of someone arguing with this pair at their van , talk about misrepresentation! I always think these two are privileged people on a jolly anyway . To the people of Scotland I love you and your beautiful country xx
Well said I deliberately avoided this knowing there statement was untrue and they were desperately seeking attention.. thanks for reminding people they have a responsibility to provide accurate information
My wife and I travel to Scotland for holidays, over the years we have stayed for weeks up there the people are polite and so welcoming . I’ve taken my grandchildren there and they love it as well .
It really disappoints me when channels I've followed for so long are lured in by the rewards of clickbait. No doubt, financially, the internet rewards creators for clickbait, drama, anger, conspiracy, and controversy. The problem is it has a negative impact on the quality of the content over time and subscriber like us (and, obviously, we're in the minority) leave the channel for more genuine and honest content. I think they're a sweet couple, too, and hate it that they seem to be headed down this path of clickbait and drama.
I completely understand how you feel about this. I am from Kent and a few years ago The Travel Trolls came to Kent and proceeded to tell everyone how awful Kent was and how the places were run down and it was a doggers paradise when in fact they visited the three worst places you could visit here and ignored the comments from people suggesting the best places to visit like Canterbury, Whitstable, Elham Valley, Sandwich etc and went to Gravesend, Margate (although that is starting to get better now) and Sheerness which, even the locals would admit aren’t particularly nice places. They then made several videos putting down my home county without visiting any other parts. There’s a reason Kent is called ‘The Garden of England’ and it’s not because of Sheerness, Gravesend and Margate. I felt the same as you when I watched their video. It was all about click bait with no evidence of what they were experiencing.
Well said 👏👏👏👏 I stopped watching them. I hadn’t looked at their content from a financial point of view. As you know I’m also Scottish 🏴 have a good flight home to SCOTLAND Oh and I’m away in Mouse my Campervan to Inverness and very welcome by all .
Well said Mike. I dislike click bait/fake so unfollowed them a while ago. As for Scotland, I have travelled around your beautiful home country in my van many times and will continue to do so. I have always found Scottish people to be very welcoming. Enjoy the rest of your holiday. Australia looks stunning. Regards Val.
Myself and my husband visited Scotland for first time this year, it was so beautiful and friendly we have re booked for next May, outstanding scenery, everywhere we visited we were made so welcome, looking forward to many more holidays......
Well said Mike. As a fellow Scot I am angry that anyone can spout rubbish like this just for clickbait. The people who know Scotland will know most of us are a friendly bunch and enjoy visiting. We did used to watch the beans but stopped a while ago and now won’t go back there. Love your vlogs though and am enjoying Australia with you. I empathise with Tricia as I too have problem knees, and wee Keira is so cute. Keep up the good work ❤️
Hi Mike I agree 100% ive been visiting Scotland Camping and camper tanning since 1972, I hope to go back next year, I have found the Scots to be most welcoming and generous folk, I suggest to everyone go and meet some lovely folk in Scotland, I am from England retired to Grimsby.
I Have to agree with you, you made a very good logical video and fair play for giving your thoughts on the whole matter. My experience in Scotland for a 12 day trip was amazing and I loved it, I found all the people I met lovely, friendly and welcoming. So much so I can’t wait to go back. 👌
What a constructive learning session for all u-tubers who from time to time, in their own interest give no regard to what damage the thumbnail leaves. Thank you for being brave enough to speak out - we only watch utubers whose content is testament to their level of integrity.
As many others have said we stopped watching Travel beans ages ago. Everything about them comes across as false and staged to us which unfortunately seems to be a new trend across TH-cam with increasing numbers of "click bait" staged images and dramatic titles. 4 year's of travelling Scotland and living here all our lives not once have we been moved on. Yes some areas aren't campervan friendly (East Lothian as you probably know is full of car parks with height barriers) so we just move on to somewhere else. Keep up the good work and looking forward to seeing the rest of the Australian adventure 😁
I've noticed just about every video has to have some drama in the title/thumbnail these days. But insulting a whole nation takes it to a whole new level. Sad they get so many views when there are far more likable and nicer van life channels to watch imho.
@@moneyprofessional so many channels are going this way, possibly as they grow they rely on the income as many of them are going "full time" TH-cam for income. We used to watch lots of van life channels but now it's only a handful because of this
My husband, me and our two dogs travel through Scotland this year again in our Campervan and we always felt welcome. We love Scoland and I hate the dramatic click baits on TH-cam. All I can say poor people, only fixed to get likes. Greetings from Germany. We love your Videos.
Thank you for posting this. I did see their video which I only partly clicked through but it did concern me especially as I have been a regular visitor to every part of Scotland and have always found it to be outstanding and the people always kind and more than helpful. My faith (although not lost ) has been reinforced as a result of your post.🏍🏍👍
The Travel Beans are correct in my experience of motorhoming in Scotland where we live. We have spent 530 nights in our Moho all across Europe and about 1/3 of that in Scotland. We too have experienced people blaring their horns as they drive passed. Two times at the Muir of Dinnet Vat o Burn stopover. Once whilst parked in Stac Polly. Once whilst parked up alongside Loch Ness at Dores. The very worst was when parked at the council motorhome stop in Ayr, where we called the police 3 times and people were arrested. This has never happened to us on the continent. They are click baiting for sure, but I agree with them.
it's a total clickbait title along with bashing Scots on their part. I'm not even from Scotland and I got upset when I realized they were totally insulting a whole country just for views.
Totally agree with Mike, we found Scottish people warm and welcoming. Shame the Travel Beans think they need to resort to this kind of media to gain attention.
I agree with you 100% mate I've been caught by those types of thumbnails so many times it P****s me off really bad. I love Scotland .Enjoy the remainder of your holiday.
Well said Mike. I don't have a campervan but I really enjoy and subscribe to life's too short, wandering by choice and of course los tres amigos Andrew, Dougal and Ted. They all give a well balanced objective on their experiences and it seems to be unanimous that they all love camping in Scotland. I've not only unsubscribed but also stopped watching completely vloggers who use clickbait to attract viewers. Enjoy the rest of your holiday and looking forward to your next adventures...haste ye back🚙🚙
I’m a native Texan and I’ve been to Scotland many times. Always met with love! ❤ Love the Scot’s. I thought they were school teachers? Oh nm. I’m not interested in them. I heard the woman going on about the awesome NHS. what bollocks. People flying with newborns also chaps my ass. Their ears are not developed for that type of pressure. It’s extremely painful for babies to fly.
We did two weeks in our Micro camper (Berlingo) all over Scotland earlier this year . Scotland is beautiful! And I can tell you that we had no issues at all . We felt welcome by the locals and one lady even suggested a great park up for the night….and it was indeed. I can honestly say that the people of Scotland were warm and friendly.
Well I can fully understand your annoyance and well done for keeping so restrained in your analysis. From our experience of visiting Scotland regularly since 1974 and as campervanners and more recently motorhome travellers we have nothing but praise for the welcome we have received from the Scottish people over that time. A year ago we visited the Outer Hebrides for the first and wondered if the reception might be different. Not at all we were made so welcome. We will be back again as we have been regularly in the past .ATB 👋
Spot on Mike. Totally agree, tarnishing the people of Scotland. I'm been back in Scotland now for 4 months now and love the place and people so much. Everyone friendly and polite. If you respect the place you visit the locals will be welcoming. Most of Britain need to learn off the Scottish. Take Care Both 🙏 ❤
Hi Mike, we're from Lincolnshire in England we love Scotland, very welcoming place, we saw the travel beans thumb nail thought it was just to get viewers, we don't subscribe to them so didn't watch it, but totally agree with you it's all about the views they can get,
Well said Mike. The 'algorithm' chucked up that video for me - I gave up watching the Travel Beans a long time ago - and I found the clickbait thumbnail downright offensive. Were they maybe trying to make a point about the 'dirty campers' who dump their waste and their sh!t in the wrong places? I don't know but the video just confirmed why I no longer watch their channel.
This is what happens to people who think they can get away with anything, I used to watch them, not anymore, I've been going to Scotland for over 30 years, only once in a pub in the village of Killin did I meet an aggressive person but that was when the music festival was on so he could have been from anywhere in Scotland, I still go to Scotland and love the place
I’m Irish and we love Scotland, our celtic cousins. We were made to feel very welcome when we visited Edinburgh earlier this year. My kids loved it too and my older daughter felt she could live there, she loved it so much. I understood some Scottish Gaelic written in Edinburgh castle as it is the same in Irish. My Great great Grandfather was from Edinburgh so nice to see where he came from and we found his tartan from the Taylor family. My son visited Glasgow and only had one incident which may have escalated as he was asked in a McDonalds queue by another customer who had some interesting tattoos, what football team did he support? he said that he would decline to answer that question and was told by the guy that he did right because he was nothing but a fenian b******, not very nice but you get that kind of stuff from time to time in life, my son moved along and enjoyed his McDs and otherwise had a great time in Glasgow with his friends, one of whom is at Uni there so it hasn’t put him off and he'll be back. We all love Scottish people over here. 🇮🇪❤🏴
Did you know that the 'Scots' are the 'Scotti' tribe, who invaded what is now known as Scotland from Ireland and stole the land from the Picts in the sixth century. You would feel welcome in Scotland, they are you kith and kin, to use a well known English term.
We had the same conversation yesterday , it’s sad that people are going down the clickbait route and feel the need because “it’s a business” not necessarily living their best life “it’s just a job” We’re heading towards Scotland in December and can’t wait to make our own conclusions, Keep safe ☯️
Oh you have echoed just what we thought I am not sure we will be watching them again we live in Yorkshire but I was born in Scotland and generally speaking I have never had any problems with my fellow kinsmen. Enjoy your Australia trip ❤
Thanks for airing this video, I too watched the video in question and couldn’t believe what was being portrayed about our country and found it strange there was never a video clip of the alleged incident shown in the click bait photo !! The only thing I did find satisfying was their plea to everyone to take home their rubbish.
Hi I watched their vlog because of their thumbnail wondering what on earth had happened. As a Scottish resident I was appalled that something terrible had happened to a visitor and what a load of rubbish it was. Well done for speaking out I am 100% behind what you said. Maybe they shouldn't show their faces this side of the border for a wee while. I for one won't ever watch any more of their nonsense
love you Mike, Love you Tricia. Having once been married to a Girl who’s family were Scottish, and being half scottish on my mothers side, i agree totally with what you have said. Scotland are the most hospitable people you could care to meet. The Bruce‼️
They were calling out the bad camper van people. Which everyone gets! They also said they loved Scotland and want to live there! Did you miss that context?
One thing TB did touch on is the mess some leave behind when they leave. Absolutely no excuse for this at all. Clear up after you for the next campers guys.
Hi Mike, totally agree about the click bait issue, unfortunately TH-cam are in a big way responsible, as they reward the makers of these types of video, we've unsubscribed from the happy days because we got fed up with them doing exactly the same thing, plus a whole lot more of staged filming, never watched travel beans and won't bother to now, we watch TH-camrs who keep it as real a possible like yours and campervan capers etc.
I stopped watching Those Happy Days a year or so ago for the same reasons - every thing was click bait and enjoyed creating negative drama . I have been following the Travel Beans. But found them to be more click Baitey when they didnt have to be . I am really disappointed in the travel beans given their pathetic response to Mike . They have lost my sub .
Good for you MIke - stand up and represent . I am very disappointed in the pathetic self serving response the Travel Beans made to your post . They have lost my sub for sure . I missed you guys and Maggie in the wee brown van - can’t wait to see your latest travels . ❤ from Grimsby Ontario
Well said we thought exactly the same glad you spoke out. We are out in our motorhome all the time and haven't been told to go away. Maggie and Eddie Morayshire x
in 2011 we traveled to Scotland my wife was in a wheelchair not at any time did we have a problem. the people of Scotland are very understanding and helpful..l am looking forward to going back in the next year.
We have a campervan but never travelled up to Scotland, having watched the Beans video the other day it put us off of thinking of going. So yes making content like that does influence peoples decisions. It's sad to see them making Bull Shit content just to get views and make money. Thank you for pointing this out Mike.
Try watching "Philly & Keely" "Camper Vibe" and "Kinging-it" (who just bought a property there). They all had extensive trips around Scotland and the NC 500, the videos were amazing and it was plain to see they thoroughly enjoyed Scotland. It definitely made me want to see for myself. Perhaps seeing it through more than 1 channels eyes will have you giving it a second thought.
Funnily enough I started watching that video just the other day, having never heard of the channel before. Within minutes I came to the conclusion they were YTers that don't respect their audience, so stopped watching after about 8 minutes. They didn't get a subscribe from me. Having seen their comments you've highlighted here, further confirms my first impressions. Deluded people, but we've seen this story with 'successful' YTers many times before.
Well said, 👏I find the click bait thumbnails such a turn off these days the ‘macaulay culkin home alone’ hands on cheeks is a particularly dislike of mine. I don’t give them the time of day anymore! Nice video! Subscribed!
Stopped watching a long while ago too as they have their heads stuck so far up their own arses, I'm glad that someone has stood up to their click bait thumbnails and I'm not at all surprised by their arrogant answer! Watch "Wandering Where" and Adam hasn't got a single bad word to say about Scotland and Scottish Folk. I feel this video of theirs is going to bite them on their arse big time - Karma 🙏🏻
Hari OM 👏Bravo, Mike. I must say I was hugely disappointed by the thumbnail too... and seeing their response to your comment deepens that disappointment. I thought better of them. YAM xx
Well said Mike and well done for sticking up for Scotland 🏴. Unfortunately the click bait thumbnails seem to be happening more and more on TH-cam generally.
Let me tell You something: i am from Norway and I visited Scotland this summer and I did not have any problems. Scotland and its people are a joy to visit. I subscribe to the Beans, but did not View that click bait video as I thought «how did they get the angry scots to wait for the photo to be taken». It is disappointing that some You tubers think click bait is the way forward. I appreciate honesty, also in the thumbnails. I will now cancel my subscription to that channel, and I will tell them. As I told Those Happy Days and stopped watching because of their terrible click baiting.
It’s so sad that some TH-cam channels do not feel they can get the response they want/need without dishonesty. I only watch channels that express honesty. Thank you.
Hello Mike - greetings from Poland Well Said! I have never understodd why people who decide to live a different life style by becoming "nomads", turn to TH-cam as a way of funding this life style. I watched Travel Beans because I enjoyed their content, visiting places all over Europe and USA in their campervans. Not any more. It;s obvious to me that this video about their visit and comments about Scottish people , is designed to boost their subscribers hence making more money for themselves. I have unsubscribed from thier channel and reported them to TH-cam.
Thanks Don, good to hear from someone who witnessed that first hand, thanks for the evidence!
Well said Jane, thanks.
That applies everywhere, not just scotland.
@@owlman9297 Exactly, I reckon its worse in Wales and parts of England! Try to find somewhere to even part for free/overnight never mind the locals!
@@moneyprofessionalIts far worse in Wales. We won't go Wales ago but I would go Scotland again in a heartbeat.
I watch the Beans and enjoy their content. I know the video you are specking of and I tend to think you are over-reacting a bit. Better yet, contact them and go over what upset you. I have never seen them in anyway attack anyone. Like you, they look to be nice and caring people. Just my two cents....
Well said Mike. A hundred thousand welcomes to anyone thinking of coming to Scotland. From a fellow Scot.
Hello Jim. We know you mean that sincerely as we've met you. Hope you're both well.😊
I have wild camped in a campervan in Scotland and I’m an Aussie my girlfriend was Scottish (unfortunately she died in 2021) but we did some camping and we didn’t have any trouble, I also went back to Scotland in April this year to go to my girlfriend’s Album launch that her daughter and Sister had organised, and although emotional for me as it was a wonderful time and filled with love for my girlfriend.
Well said! My late husband and I loved travelling to Scotland in our van, we had nothing but warm welcomes, loved the country and your people. X
Well said Mike! Totally agree. Disgusting depiction of our beloved country. 🏴🏴
You are wrong about their historical use of thumbnails as click bait. They have often used suggestive pictures of a half dressed Emma to encourage people wanting to find out more. Whether you think it’s acceptable or not there is no denying it is staged clickbait.
I have not heard that term in a long time 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Reminiscent of Harry Enfield and Chums Tim Nice but Dim. @@heather333
@@davidmatthews3093 I hate clickbaits for views
Well done Mike. This world can only improve if good people stand up and speak the Truth.
Thanks Phil, it had to be said.
Good on you Mike for calling them out.
They definitely over step their mark.
My sentiments entirely and why I felt compelled to make this video.
No decision from the English all from Scottish people... love Scotland beautiful and well looked after by English tax payers but we don't mine that we should all look after Scotland and wales.and they should look after the English ..we all benefit from each other. ..you are being delusional,
Scotland living off engerlish tax ...aye right other wie roon
They parked a hired van opposite a Spanish bar , well surprise surprise when they went out and left the van it got broken into
I commented on the video that someone had seen them leave the van and it never occurred to them being parked opposite a bar someone watched them go .
They cannot be doing bad as they have an RV in the USA , got a house here and jet off everywhere at a whim
You tube must be a good income for them
I’m with you, I’ve never seen your content before, this video popped up in my recommended.
Yes , get the fact checkers in I say 🏴
Well said
I am a softie southern and I have near felt more at home and welcome than the times I’ve travelled around Scotland
The truth is if you don’t respect the people and places you visit where ever that my be
You will upset the locals and rightly so
Things should be shown truthfully!
All the best
Hi Mike
We've just returned from another amazing roadtrip around Scotland.❤🏴 We find Scotland so very friendly and very dog friendly too.
As Oscar Wilde said “There’s only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about.”
They're on to a loser visiting Gravesend 😅
I remember that
Ever County has several towns that are down at heal or dodgy.
I loved Kent when I traveled through it, such beautiful places right through England, Wales & Scotland.
I visited Kent in my camper and it was stunning!!!
Well said 👏👏👏👏 I stopped watching them. I hadn’t looked at their content from a financial point of view. As you know I’m also Scottish 🏴 have a good flight home to SCOTLAND
Oh and I’m away in Mouse my Campervan to Inverness and very welcome by all .
If they don’t like our country don’t come back.
Keep up the good work ❤️
You should try watching an England game in a Scottish pub and see how friendly and welcoming you think they are 😂
This is the reason why I now only subscribe to a few honest people like yourselves and just a couple of others.
I am agree with you
Hi Mike I agree 100% ive been visiting Scotland Camping and camper tanning since 1972, I hope to go back next year, I have found the Scots to be most welcoming and generous folk, I suggest to everyone go and meet some lovely folk in Scotland, I am from England retired to Grimsby.
Well said Mike, we loved our time in Scotland and felt very welcomed. 😊
Very good this comment. We are still in love with Scotland and this vlog will not change our opinion.
it's a total clickbait title along with bashing Scots on their part.
Well said, I think they totally overstepped the mark and have lost credability.
Good on you Mike for defending your country with the truth. I hope you enjoy my Aussie country. Cheers.😊😊
It is whether a person has INTEGRITY and willing to sacrifice that for money ! Period !
We had the same conversation yesterday , it’s sad that people are going down the clickbait route and feel the need because “it’s a business” not necessarily living their best life “it’s just a job”
We’re heading towards Scotland in December and can’t wait to make our own conclusions,
Keep safe ☯️
Good on you Iv been in Scotland for 51 years and absolutely love it , (I’m from London originally) time for me to stop watching them , take care 👍🏻👍🏻
Oh you have echoed just what we thought I am not sure we will be watching them again we live in Yorkshire but I was born in Scotland and generally speaking I have never had any problems with my fellow kinsmen. Enjoy your Australia trip ❤
Couldn’t agree more with your assessment of the Travel Beans video! 👍😀☘️
Agree with everything you have said. IT HAS PUT ME OFF THEM.
Well said, I stopped watching them a year ago.
One thing TB did touch on is the mess some leave behind when they leave. Absolutely no excuse for this at all. Clear up after you for the next campers guys.
I've been to Scotland and the people there were the best part of the trip. They were uniformly kind and welcoming.
Me too, Happy days have morphed into something a bit "corporate".
Happy Days come across as very selfish, self-centred arrogant people. Not for me.
I saw the thumbnail, and because of it, I wouldn't watch it, that's not why I watch TH-cam videos for. Good on you for calling them out
Well said we thought exactly the same glad you spoke out.
Nice video! Subscribed!
Good on you for making this, I can’t stand clickbait!!
These people sadly are trying to ruin the Scottish attitude that welcomes travellers from all over the world. We are renowned for our welcome.

👏Bravo, Mike.
Fair play to you for highlighting this nonsense. Its a disgrace that some people on TH-cam will stoop so low, just to increase their ratings.
It’s so sad that some TH-cam channels do not feel they can get the response they want/need without dishonesty. I only watch channels that express honesty. Thank you.
Thanksand good for you Anne👍🐾💕
I am so pleased you responded to this as I have been planning a trip to Scotland in my campervan, but their comments nearly put me off!
Don’t let it put you off. We have recently been to Scotland in our campervan and felt very welcome everywhere we went
Completely agree with you ! I LIKE YOU MIKE !
Hello Mike - greetings from Poland
Well Said!
It is sad they are not mature enough to realize they are insulting a country. So sad.
