@@DecepsisOvermark I don’t remember exactly why that works for the witness (it’s been a while since I’ve watched him play it) but I’m just gonna assume that the witness makes you racist.
Honestly, I am just majorly conflicted on it. It's obviously not an intended message by the devs, but if you tell it to the wrong people, it's just bound to cause drama. And what does it mean for real life? Would it be a transferrable argument that seggregating everyone due to their main travel targets is "good practice" to avoid traffic?
Unless the motorway is directly from your house to your workplace and has no intersections along the way, i.e. it'd be empty except when your family and guests are using it.
I've been enjoying this game so much, the only issue I have with it is sometimes late game a new company spawns and you just don't notice it until it goes red.
@@bftjoe I tried the road blocking strategy but unsuccessfully. It keeps businesses from spawning, but seems to increase demand of existing businesses faster and thus I lose faster than if I hadn't done it.
@@Muskar2 You still have to be able to play the game. I just saw a video where the guy only had 1 business but still lost because he doesn't know how to keep it afloat.
6:16 wrong, you don't want that. If you look at the houses, you'll notice that a lot of cars are not in use. The business is not having trouble due to lack of residents, it is having issues because of the time it takes for each resident to get there.
People really underestimate neighborhood traffic, I feel myself always rearranging each house so they have equal amount of entrances and so on. Hard to test if bottomline it actually helps though, since you can't make exact copies of scenarios. Never seen anyone get too involved in neighborhoods they just connect it wherever and be done with it.
Roundabout has a 'plus' sign area it needs to be placed. It's very strategic to sometimes build road crosses in places where you think a highway may end later or roads will split to different businesses for example (worth to mention, don't try more than 2 shops per roundabout for late game, it can get messy)
A good general strategy for this game is to use the roads for general placement, and continue to improve the structure of the ground, forget the fluff words I just said, and play cities skylines instead because you can just destroy the houses you don’t want and then cry because you still can’t figure out how to manage traffic even with total control.
I've found that planning ahead really means a great deal. Otherwise houses will spawn in every free cell and f*** you over big-time. Also, I think distance to the workplaces matters when it comes to efficiency since the cars have to travel for longer to get there.
The roads for black, gray, and white cars would be so congested. Anyone with an orange car would have so much extra road. Also, what would happen to the ones that have a multicolored paint job?
3:15 This is something I've been thinking of too Maybe traffic lights changing to let you pick a direction that always gets priority over the others could be something?
You can determine how good business is doing by looking at the neighbourhood it is attached to. If all houses there have no cars inside, then you are not keeping up. Otherwise it will be fine... For now.
Yeah, this map is kicking my ass, too. Which is weird, because it's basically a flat plain with one island you can pave over with roads until you're ready for it. (You'll need at least one motorway or bridge to get the houses that spawn on the peninsula as well, depending.)
A technique i think you could benefit from is "controlling the spawn". Just place extra roads in places you wouldnt want houses or businesses to spawn, as well as next to entrances to businesses
I think it's also good to just assign a few houses to a shop. It's more seperating than a grid of the same color since it can't happen that there is a house who wants to go to a shop on the other side of the map
If you have less hours then him or just play casually then no worries. He does this sort of thing for a job. He's bound to have an easier time with these things then you or I. Just keep trying and learning, you've already done a good job. Now it's just about trying to do a great job. I hope it helps :) P.s 2.5k is impressive in my eyes.
Adds a motorway to a singular purple house, then precedes to build a road across the entire map for three blue houses. :| also a tip, you can leave houses without a road and a business and they won't get mad.
I kind of wish the game design was changed in some way to make it best to have everything on the same network, so that it was just about the efficiency of your layout for everything. Maybe have it so all houses can help out all stores, and the colored ones are a bonus. You could also make every store also a house of a different color
The problem is that would likely take away some replayability of the game. Because then it would essentially just become a process of following what the person at the top of the leaderboard did. Maybe tweaking here and there too. Which doesn't require much brain power to do, compared to trying to multitask and manage all different networks. However I feel like you're onto something that could work. Feel free to keep thinking on it/experimenting and pls keep me updated. :) Best of luck.
I'm not sure why but recently I just have too many motorways. Sometimes I even have 3 motorways in the inventory that I don't even know where to put cause everything seems to run fairly good. Then I lose at around 3000.

he kept saying that during the game lol. But after a point you definitely do need to connect more houses. Because empty spaces leave room for buildings to spawn where you don't want them to. Besides, it probably helps with scores.
yeah that's one thing that annoyed me. optimal strategy is to save motor ways until you need them because building them the first time doesn't take any time but moving them takes a while.
@@2ndbrain909 I'm not sure. I've had plenty of 3k+ scores where I had 20+ houses not connected and they're not the colors that cause me to lose. In those cases I usually lost because motorways took too long to reposition or similar. It usually seems to be much more about distance from houses to destination, and thus luck. I've had a few playthroughs with a few houses spawning directly next to their skyscraper/circle and even just 4 houses connected in a tiny binary tree road network had no issues keeping up with demand at the point where I lost.
