Lasting Impression Art My biggest issue is making my horse paintings look realistic. I'm still struggling with blending too. I try my best, but I guess it will just take time.
Ah, yes! Both of those items will take time to master. To work on recreating realism for your horse paintings, I would recommend approaching them as a figure study. Really get to know the anatomy and how light interacts with their form. I do have a video on how to blend acrylics that you may have seen. Justin uses a technique where he does a ton of thin layers to blend his shapes. Have you tried oils? Oils tend to be easier to blend due to the fact that they stay malleable for a longer period of time. I hope this helps!
That's a very good question! I honestly have not tried to transfer graphite onto a playmat before. If you try it, I would suggest using something wider than a pen or pencil when tracing your design because you could easily tear the transfer paper with the mat being so soft. If you ever try it, please let us know how it turns out!
Are you enlarging a drawing you created in photo shop. If you hand draw a drawing can you do any enlarging with photo shop. I'm assuming you cannot. That you have to enlarge with a copier.
That's how I do it also. Why do some artists cover the back of their drawing with charcoal and transfer it that way? Is that a more archival way of doing it or do they just not know about transfer paper?

TREASURE TOLENTINO I'm not entirely sure what you're asking since ball point pens are considered normal pens. Felt tip or fountain pens would not work well.

Carbon paper usually do a lot t of mess on the canvas n sheet ... it was not doing wid ur case ... it was very fine drawing / tracing

Loew Cornell makes a fantastic graphite transfer paper. It is smudge proof and will not bleed through paint.

Hi John! You could brush on a layer of linseed, walnut, or poppy oil. Another option is any other oil medium like Galkyd or Liquin.

You certainly can! The graphite paper will only be consumed where you trace, so everywhere you didn't transfer a line is still usable.
