I looked this Gladiator over while I was there. I was really quite impressed with all that the Alu-Cab offers in this build. But one of the things that intrigued me the most was the DIY brackets for easy removal. I often thought of some kind of home made hoist to remove my camper, as it is a lot to ask of friends to help install a few times a year. I may have to come up with a design for the RSI kit.

I'm curious what the round thing is above the water spigot on the back (driver's side). I run a diesel heater outside mine in the winter and am looking for good way to get the heat hose into the camper without having to run it up through the tent window. Whatever that is looks like it might work... Thanks for the video!

Mind you, both are excellent and I’d love to have either one of them, the Roverking had a nice interior setup with the table, and fully lifting roof. However there are many things to keep in mind if you were trying to determine which is better. I do not have information on how either hold up better over time. 🤷🏻♂️

Yes. Also Roverking gives you the price for each trim level. With other models you need to add accessories first before you get an idea of it’s total cost.

Had a 2006 Tundra which was maxed with a Four Wheel Camper and gear.
Checking total anticipated weight is a good tip for anyone considering modifying their vehicle.

I did the math with my Mojave and decided against the unit. With options, battery, water tank full and estimated gear I was 650lbs. With my kids and wife around another 500lbs. I added larger tires, steel bumper and winch adding another approx 180lbs. That alone put me over my gvwr. I decided to keep my overland trailer

How easy is it to remove the canopy? Practical at all?
I didn’t see how easy it was on James’ rig, but I have seen it on others, and it looks very easy. In fact I have a demonstration of that in next week’s video. Cheers
@@quarlo. Huh, I own a canopy camper and have it on a Tacoma. It took a day and a half worth of sealing and needs a hoist or forklift to move it. There is no way I would ever take mine off. The fact that it can be so well sealed is part of the allure of that camper vs. one of the other pop up models. If you miss any spots with the sealant, it leaks. Perhaps it's different on the Gladiator, but like I said, there is no way I would ever take mine off.
