- With so many strat copies and replicas on the market, it's hard to decide which one to add to your guitarsenal. In this video, Phillip Blevins of @CarverCommodore takes the Tagima TG-530 for a high quality spin with riffs you know. Headphones are optional (but recommended) for this in depth review of this shred staple. Share with someone who might buy you one for the holidays...

I literally just discovered these guitars already have 2 in mind for my next purchase
You can't go wrong! They're great.
Closing out a good, solid review with the epic James Gang/Walsh hit Funk 49 was class! ❤
I just ordered a Tagima T-635 from Mason Music. Watched this video lots of times. I live in Oregon, worth the wait when buying from good professional people. Great communication and fast shipping. Thank you guys! 👍🏻 🎸
💡Anyone want me to make a review once it arrives? 🤔
@@MatthewJacobDaniel Matthew! You are so kind! Thank you SO much for the kind words, and I'm glad that the T-635 landed with you :) -Jones
Nice demo, Phillip. You play well too, mate! Cheers from Australia.
Nice! I have one! I swapped the electronics. I put Tex Mex pick ups, gotoh tuners, bone nut, Mojotone Solderless strat kit (If you don’t know how to solder), brass saddles, fenders screws, string trees, knobs and tremolo springs. Now it plays like a dream.
😂
@@klausrichter778it plays like a dream with out all that up grades shold have just bought a higher end guitar
Nice playin. Picked one up at GC for $99. Fantastic guitar reminds me of the 80's Squiers.
Lots of people are making that comparison. We love them. Just got some restocked and they are selling fast! Fun guitars to play, killer price point. Lots of people are buying to mod. We’re about to get some of their higher end made in Brazil models in to test drive- will report back via another demo!
I played one from back in the day when Fender didn't sue companies for doing exactly the same guitar shape than them, and I got say... best strat I ever played (about how comfortable it felt), seriously, even felt better than some American Fender II that I played, of course, not talking about the sound of it (Fenders pick up are the legit thing!)
Seems like a decent budget strat copy, with the usual features. I do like how they've done the neck, especially the shiny fretboard (love those!). Love the fact that they put a "vintage" tint on it. Nothing looks worse than those ghostly white necks that come on many cheapo strat copies. Also like the headstock - even the logo looks decent. I may have to grab one of these!
For those looking in this price range, be aware that you're gonna get usable but very cheaply made electronics and hardware, the latter most noticeable with the tremolo block, which will no doubt be very very thin, and possibly the tuners. Perfectly playable and all, but not the greatest.
Tagima, the Squier killer haha awesome video guys!
EXACTLY! We’re actually ordering some of their higher end made in Brazil models to test out- will demo ASAP and post
I like this!, good job!
How would you compare these to Squier’s 40th anniversary vintage or CV Strat?
All of those are great budget options. I would opt for the Tagima over the Squier 40th Anniversary. The Squier Classic Vibe series are wonderful too but they are a bit more expensive than these Tagimas... Both are great but give the Tagima a shot and save a little money!
Si you think that this guitar is better than the squier affinity 2021? I don’t know which one to buy.
Choose Tagima man, I have 2 of these with me with some mods right now, and also I already has squiers and I can say, Tagima is far better for thr price. But if you could buy a Squier Vintage modified, go for it.
Ya it’s higher quality than the Affinity.
We get asked this a lot - your input is super helpful! Thanks for the comment.
Great Review! that guitar sounds great!, what do you recommend if a have a budget of USD400, Can I get a better 'strato' option?
Honestly, this is a great option at that price range. You'd have some $$ left over to upgrade pickups if you wanted.
Squier bullet mustang or tagima tg 530? They're the same price here lol i can't decide
Hey there! I guess first and foremost it depends on what body style you want - obviously the Mustang is a little lighter/smaller. However, I've got friends that mod out these Tagimas like CRAZY! You definitely can't go wrong with either choice, it's just a matter of personal preference. :)
@@MasonMusicRocks thanks for responding! great vid btw, guess I'll be going with the mustang since it looks pretty bad ass hahaha.
É incrível saber como as guitarras são tão baratas nos E.U.A.
What is that ghost line in the finish near the bridge? Is that wood seem showing through the finish?
Tagima Tg-530 or Fender Player?
Sounds?Playability?
Fender Player but it’s like 3 times more expensive !
Hey Daniel - just out of curiosity, what do you like more about the Fender? We get asked this a lot so we'd love to know your opinion of the two guitars.
If i plan on modding this is it relatively easy? Like will usual strat parts just bolt in?
What parts are you thinking about? Neck? Pickups? Tuners? Pickguard? I can ask around - just let me know!
Stock pickups?
Yes- this review was done using the stock pickups.
Nice guitar and playing. However, I couldn't help but notice that he kinda look like David Spade.
We love Joe Dirt here at Mason Music
What size bridge is it? 52.5mm or 54mm?
What are the fret wires? Is it stainless?
I don't believe so. These are most likely basic Nickel silver.
Pickup is ceramic or alnico ?
Should be ceramic
does this have ceramic pickups ?
Yes, it does!
¿Fret size?
tg 530 or yamaha pacifica 012??
Honestly haven't put our hands on a pacifica so can't answer truthfully. We do love these Tagimas though...
The sultans of Swing you've played coulda sound better if you played it at bridge+middle.
To me it sounds like the real thing to my unseasoned ears
pups aint cuttin it for me.
