I own a Tagima Tele and Strat. The quality IS amazing. $200-ish is an incredible value. Great build, great playability. I highly recommend this line. I’m tired of shelling out big bucks for guitars and trying to justify the cost. These guitars come with ZERO buyer’s remorse. Great balance between cost and quality.

I went to my local mom and pop shop and really love the neck on the Stella DW, but there are no specs to be found about the thickness. I would think that would be a MAJOR marketing point as this sucker fit me like a glove.

Thanks for an english language Tagima review. Tagimas are great guitars period. The price of their Chinese made Woodstock guitars series are a crazy value. Thanks also for reviewing with someone who can actually play, and for giving us a 'test' sample with clean settings.
I just bought a Tagima TW-61 Jazzmaster style guitar - it arrived two days ago and I'm blown away! The Tagima I just received plays as well if not better that some vintage Fullerton (the big F) guitars I own (or have owned).
It's the only guitar I've ever bought other than my Martin acoustic that didn't need a setup out of the box. It is absolutely fantastic...pretty much flawless finish. Nice neck profile ..... perfect for me (a true Fender style 9 1/2" radius), chunky but not too baseball bat-ish -- Just right. Intonation was perfect. Nut slots perfect. No fret "sprout" - nice clean, smooth fret ends (I may soften the edges a bit for a smoother feel). No high frets, no buzz. Clean playing low action (I may lower action a bit).
I don't think you can get a better Fender style guitar at this price level than a Tagima.

Update. Still digging my TW-61 Jazzmaster style Tagima. No complaints whatsoever. Couple of things of note I've noticed and should mention. Unlike most cheap Fender style guitars, the TW-61 has a sweet two post fulcrum tremolo instead of the 6 screw type. The (threaded) trem arm needed some PTFE tape to stay where I wanted it without flopping around. I didn't mention in previous post, frets on the TW-61 were vintage style (smallish). The other day I played the Tagima side by side with a Squire J. Mascis Jazzmaster. For playability and feel the Tagima is every bit as good, and better in some respects. The I preferred the smaller vintage frets of the Tagima, and felt the Tagima's P-90's had better clarity. Overall, the Tagima is every bit as solid and well built as Squire. The Tagima's strat style trem is also more stable ( although not as cool looking ) as the vintage style Jazzmaster trem on the Squire.

    • @deek6942
      @deek6942 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

Update # 2. I was so impressed with the TW-61, I bought a Tagima T-635 "Classic Series" Strat style guitar that arrive 2 days ago. The T-635 also has the 2 post fulcrum trem (I think the TG-530 has a 6 screw), jumbo frets, and an incredible rosewood fretboard. It has alnico pups that have that classic strat sound. Great fretwork, no buzzes, beautifully bevelled edges on the fretboard, and perfect action. The block on the tremolo on this one is thick and solid too (this Woodstock series TW-61 has a pretty typical small trem block). My only complaint is that the saddles are as low as they can possibly go... I may need to shim the neck a touch to be able to have a more appropriate saddle height.... or not--- it plays perfect as it is.
REALLY NICE. I got it on sale on Reverb for well under $200. The neck alone is worth more (I've spent more for just a good Fender style replacement neck than I did on this entire guitar). You can't build a decent 'Partscaster' for anywhere near this price. BUY ONE.

I'll be honest, these have nice pickups and necks. That being said, there will be fret sprout, either out of the box or a few months down the road, so have your sanding block ready. I had to sand mine.
I have one sunburst finish, one Olympic white. The sunburst is a foto-burst, and it is quite nice. The finish on the Olympic white is gorgeous on the front, awful on the back; very uneven.
Hardware wise, they're typical of most imports, but the tremolo blocks are the lightest, cheapest ones I've ever seen. CF dime pots, typical import 5 way switch. Tone pots wired to bridge and neck/middle. Nice quality wire, but minimal shielding on the pickguard, none in the cavity.
Overall, I would put them in Squier Bullet territory for build quality, Squier Affinity for sound.
I like the sunburst enough to upgrade. The Olympic white, not so much; and I love Olympic white Strats....

Just look at the guitarist's face... he can't hide that he hates the guitar. He doesn't even know what to do to hide it.
