Excellent game plan, thank you. One thing I did want to mention about sifting through gear. There were a MANY times I had found a lower item level that had 4 useful stats on it that ended up being much better than an Ancestral item 300 ilvls higher. I think I ended up using an ilvl 500 something ring forever since I just couldn't find an Ancestral one with 4 useful stats.
After this vid I thought it possible to do the lvl 70 capstone dungeon as a lvl 54 I died 13 times during the elias fight as literally every single of his attacks one shots me but made it through. Glad I didnt wait for lvl 70 to do this!
1.1-50 tree of whispers dungeons 2.from 50 onwards the only walls you will see are nightmare dungeons coming out once in a while to do helltide and or world bosses or legions

From the latest Dev live-stream talking about Season 1 and what's to come - The pre-season patch coming July 18th (so just 2 days before the start of the season on the 20th) will now give the totality of the map discovery and way-points to your alts AND seasonal characters. So when the game is patched on the 18th, just go log on your character with the most progress and it will "upload" your progress account-wide for map discovery, way-points, altars, renown, and I believe even strongholds. Even your first seasonal character will have this progress from your Eternal Realm characters.
I think the sigils work like 50 + World tier + tier of dungeon. A good way calculate optimal level disparity for wt4 is take your level difference from 50 then -1.
If you don't mind repetition, You can do Kor Dragan stronghold. It has small area and bunch of Elites packs that is ALWAYS 2 levels above you. Tip is don't finish the stronghold. Just kill the elites and leave the game. When you come back, it will resent and you'll spawn in the entrance.
Thank you that you took the time and put together this nice option. I like that it's balanced between different features and is not just spamming 2 dungeons or grouping up and power leveling with higher leveled friends. :) I do have a question though. You mentioned in a side note that Tier 2 should be skipped. Does that mean the first bit from 1-50 is supposed to be played in Tier 1? Yep, the Tier 2 World is a complete scam at the moment. The extra time you will need to kill the harder mobs is just not worth the measly 20% XP boost. Just go Tier 1 to exp, pop in Tier 2 just to do the capstone dungeon at 50 and unlock Tier 3 if you haven't done it, then just play tier 3 from there on. Your new alts won't be able to play Tier 3 tho, you'll have to level them up on Tier 1 again until they're high enough to switch.
I appreciate this guide. I would like to point out that some of the Legion events can only be joined if the stronghold as been beat. This could be difficult from 1-50. Again really great guide.
OR- if you have a friend who is like level 70+, he can run your through the capstone dungeon on World Tier 2 immediately. Then take you through a nightmare dungeon in World tier 3. And then youll be able to join him when he levels his tier 23 nightmare dungeons and get like 3-4 levels per run after like 35. before that its INSANELY quick....
Monster level in nightmare dungeons are exactly 54 + Sigil Tier level. So take your [Player Level] + 3 - 54 = The target NM Tier you should be running.

Thanks for this. I'm a long time D3 player. one unrelated comment, I really hope we don't need fresh level 1 characters for each season of D4. That leveling is just not enjoyable at all for seasonal content.
NMDs are surprisingly poor still for levelling. Barely 1/4 bar per completion and it takes like 10 mins each or more. And even if I do the math and correct tier, loot drops like 10 levels lower than the mobs (fighting level 69s at 64 and get like level 60 gear) meaning upgrades on your gear feel really rare.
Idk if/when they'll patch it, but if you keep clicking the Campfire at a Legion Event it will keep stacking. I've gotta close to 20 Stacks sometimes. Idk if it's just a visual thing or if you're actually getting increased Exp.
Real question, have you ever seen anyone use a high lvl rare gear over legendary gear of close item lvl? I mean like at 90+ account lvl do people really run Ancestral Rare gear?
I can't help but feel I'm playing the game wrong. My character is lvl 37 and I haven't finished the story yet. Should I just laser focus on finishing the story? I tend to get sidetracked with dungeons, cellars, events and side quests. I feel like I need to get a horse asap as I'm yet to even get to a world boss and probably would never get to one without the horse...
I am running a new character after I finished the campaign. I am at lvl 44 and have completed all of the first three bonuses from each area. I am now leveling just to get to be able to do the capstone dungeon to move to WT Lvl 3. My question is I still have strongholds and other things to do to complete all of the areas. If I do them now do I miss out on finishing those areas in WT5 to get the bonuses or will I make it when I get to WT5 anyway? Thanks for the video it helped out.
Why the game does not clearly tell you how to start nightmare dungeons ? I am level 60 and never saw a drop of nightmare keys (I don’t see the three of whispers for weeks on the map and I thought the Legion stuff was pointless) ?
it is okay to spam NM dungeons while leveling if it is your alt. But if it is your first character, that can be quite dangerous because you'll level up way faster than the speed you can upgrade your gear. As a result, you'll be over-leveled and due to the level scaling, mobs are gonna get stronger and stronger while your gears are not nowhere near the optimal power level you need to have.
Then keep spaming same keys intill u get upgrades... as someone who's went from 15- 39 in last 3 days of spamming the gear does come as long as ur not rushing to the end and ur doing events
@@ThornOfHeartsmaybe it’s just me but I’m swimming in legendaries. Some are useful, some are not. But a lot of rares constantly drop and if I had no legendaries they’d be somewhat useful. I just don’t level fast… if I play all day I get maybe 2 levels. Almost lvl 63
When I hit 50 I do helltides and whisper caches to aquire sigils. That's how I level up to 60 then I mix it up with NMs , helltides and whispers. The latter only everyone once in a while as the gear falls off in late tier 3 before getting into tier 4.
@@mudvain69hispers should be giving u sigils from the caches u open, if not then next time u go to the tree if there's a "chaos" cache open that one. They normally have a couple sigils as well as a bunch of materials

Idk if is worth the effort cause they are harder to kill. Also if you already reach lvl 5 in all zones with and have all lilith statues with your main, is better to start in T2 ? Or it just make things slower ?
Realistically u shouldn't play wt2 at all, the difficulty increase isnt worth the slight experience buff. You will kill and clear stuff faster in wt1 which in turn gives u more XP faster. So basically never touch wt2 ever cause there's no point
@@derp2126 unless ur build can still just steam roll threw things of course but if ur not 1/2 shotting everything wt2 shouldn't exist (however after some testing just today I will say the exp boost VS time isn't as steep as it seems) I did a dungeon no events wt1 in 8 mins dud sane dungeon wt2 in 11 mins however even tho it says 20% increase the exp showed a way different stat I wasted 3 mins but got roughly 40% more exp (but still if ur clear is slow just dont)
Hey! I am not seeing a 25% bonus by doing nightmares with monsters 3 level higher than me for 25% bonus XP. I seem to be getting 120k-125k XP no matter what. Please advise?? thanks! Also difficult to measure my XP gained exactly, since i am on console and can't hover over my XP bar. @luxthos help!
Bit of a correction there: The only waypoints that we will need to reacquire on new seasons (at least for now) are the ones that we get from clearing strongholds. Altars, map (fog of war) and waypoints are held in new seasons.
They are not, you will only keep the Waypoint of each main town in each zone, in total, that's 5 Waypoints. Every other Waypoint will need to be activated again in future Season.
Spent 14hrs yesterday just doin legion events. Cause not strong enough to do a N/M dungeon or free roam.. level 77 necro just super squishy. RNG has not been kind
Did you get any DR in paragon boards. You can't go full damage only , gotta get DR and some life. Level 77 shouldn't have any issues in tier 4 staying alive.
I see one big flaw and thats the rng loot drops, lvl 28 necro i have'nt had a chest piece drop since lvl 5, but have had tons of bows, legendary rogue and sorc stuff but nothing for the class i play, so i realy dont see any reason to play since i pretty much dont get any upgrades wich in turn make it impossible to go on because of lvl scaling, in short to call d4 a loot focused arpg is a massive overstatement since 99,99% of the loot i have gotten is useless.
Great video. That aside, this is the reason why I am extremely bored with the game. I'm only nearing lv. 80, but have nothing to look forward to besides running the same NM dungeons over and over again until 100. Then, running the same tired NM dungeons until the perfect gear drops. And what do I need this gear for you may ask? Well, moar NM dungeons! The worst part is the only answer to changing up the experience with seasons is to do it all over again? I think I need to get off of this hamster wheel.
Why not loot all the gear and just portal to town it only takes a few minutes sell your junk or dismantle it and then portal back. I throw all legendaries in the bank and deal with them later. That's what works for me

You can get from 1 to 50 in literally 1h just get a friend to make a party with u do the capstone dungeon once you’re in world tier 4 get that same friend to give u power lvl. U will gain 5 to 6 lvl per dungeon” I did myself last night”

Literally have 2 friends that power leveled to the mid 60's at world tier 4 in like 2 days. Fuckers barely slept, hell I don't even know if they ate. notice how the silly neckbeard does not tell people to do renown and get their +10 skill points even though it is extremely important and should be done before doing the capstone! second neckbeard does not tell them that the +22 paragon points in renown is extremely important too. you should have them as soon as you start doing t3 world. the renown MUST be completed on your main, the ALT's do not have to do it. clearly neckbeard is without a clue.
Most of your tips are obvious and the other tips are bullshit. A Level 40 should do the capstone dungeon and then directly switch to T3? Great, then every mob is 13 levels above his character and he can pretty much do nothing but run behind the higher guys in Legion Invasions. Dont do that guys, do your capstone dungeon when you are ready for it, when you can do it without dying, then you will be able to transition to T3 with only minor struggle, the mobs in T3 are still 3 Levels higher than those in the capstone and they are T3, so they have more life and are stronger than the capstone dungeon mobs even if they would have been 53, the same goes with the capstone at 70. There is no mob in T4 below level 73, it´s useless to dye through the capstone dungeon just to get to T4 and find out that you can't even kill a normal pack. Don´t do those dungeons as early as possible, do them when you can conveniently do it. These dungeons are after all a gear check, their job is to tell you if you are ready, and if you can only do it by dying your way through, you will dye your way through the Tier level you just cheated you into as well.
Did you even watch the video? I literally said multiple time, "depending on how comfortable you are". On my second Necromancer I was able to easily do the capstones at 40 and 60 respectively, why would I wait? I made sure to give the advice as general as possible to prevent having this exact kind of response. The goal is to do it as early as possible because the next difficulty is way more rewarding, that doesn't mean in any way shape or form that you should do it if you're not ready.

Doing side quests and dungeons while you run to altars is good as well, very efficient as you are already running the entire map
That is what I did week 1 with my first class...was taking it slow. My highest is just 74 and I have some other classes as well.

yeah, that's why currently I am working on strongholds first. And do the whispers dungeon as well if it's on the way or nearby.

at the moment, only people from your friends list, or physically ask in game, there is no queue or find / search bar atm

id recomend team with 4 and do split aspect dungeons everyone takes one dungeon each that way all gets the aspects fast and efficient

You don't need to spam click it, you click it once and sit next to it and the buff will stack all the way to max automatically every few seconds.

Go to a higher world tier if you have done everything in each area and are not at tier 3 you're slowing your leveling down slot

This is my first diablo, but what is the point of grinding levels? You talk all about efficiency, but what is the end goal of a high level character?

If you have a high lvl friend ask if you can join a few nm runs… 1-50 in no time
That won't be possible at the beginning of a new season, unless you wait for all your friends to level and carry you.
I didn't see anything about how to upgrade my sigils; all my sigils on tier 3 are capping at level 54 mobs, and I'm 68 currenlty.

I don't like how once you get half the side quests done they don't show up and you just have to travel the whole area.

Bit of a correction there: The only waypoints that we will need to reacquire on new seasons (at least for now) are the ones that we get from clearing strongholds.
Altars, map (fog of war) and waypoints are held in new seasons.
They are not, you will only keep the Waypoint of each main town in each zone, in total, that's 5 Waypoints. Every other Waypoint will need to be activated again in future Season.

Did you get any DR in paragon boards. You can't go full damage only , gotta get DR and some life. Level 77 shouldn't have any issues in tier 4 staying alive.
I see one big flaw and thats the rng loot drops, lvl 28 necro i have'nt had a chest piece drop since lvl 5, but have had tons of bows, legendary rogue and sorc stuff but nothing for the class i play, so i realy dont see any reason to play since i pretty much dont get any upgrades wich in turn make it impossible to go on because of lvl scaling, in short to call d4 a loot focused arpg is a massive overstatement since 99,99% of the loot i have gotten is useless.
So ignore all side quest?

From what I've seen every area goes up by 5 lvls starting in peaks Scotland dry kehi then Hawa scoglen is 15 then + 5 every area up to 30ish

Great video. That aside, this is the reason why I am extremely bored with the game. I'm only nearing lv. 80, but have nothing to look forward to besides running the same NM dungeons over and over again until 100. Then, running the same tired NM dungeons until the perfect gear drops. And what do I need this gear for you may ask? Well, moar NM dungeons! The worst part is the only answer to changing up the experience with seasons is to do it all over again? I think I need to get off of this hamster wheel.

Why not loot all the gear and just portal to town it only takes a few minutes sell your junk or dismantle it and then portal back. I throw all legendaries in the bank and deal with them later. That's what works for me

You can get from 1 to 50 in literally 1h just get a friend to make a party with u do the capstone dungeon once you’re in world tier 4 get that same friend to give u power lvl. U will gain 5 to 6 lvl per dungeon” I did myself last night”

Literally have 2 friends that power leveled to the mid 60's at world tier 4 in like 2 days. Fuckers barely slept, hell I don't even know if they ate. notice how the silly neckbeard does not tell people to do renown and get their +10 skill points even though it is extremely important and should be done before doing the capstone! second neckbeard does not tell them that the +22 paragon points in renown is extremely important too. you should have them as soon as you start doing t3 world. the renown MUST be completed on your main, the ALT's do not have to do it. clearly neckbeard is without a clue.

Most of your tips are obvious and the other tips are bullshit. A Level 40 should do the capstone dungeon and then directly switch to T3? Great, then every mob is 13 levels above his character and he can pretty much do nothing but run behind the higher guys in Legion Invasions.
Dont do that guys, do your capstone dungeon when you are ready for it, when you can do it without dying, then you will be able to transition to T3 with only minor struggle, the mobs in T3 are still 3 Levels higher than those in the capstone and they are T3, so they have more life and are stronger than the capstone dungeon mobs even if they would have been 53, the same goes with the capstone at 70. There is no mob in T4 below level 73, it´s useless to dye through the capstone dungeon just to get to T4 and find out that you can't even kill a normal pack.
Don´t do those dungeons as early as possible, do them when you can conveniently do it. These dungeons are after all a gear check, their job is to tell you if you are ready, and if you can only do it by dying your way through, you will dye your way through the Tier level you just cheated you into as well.
Did you even watch the video? I literally said multiple time, "depending on how comfortable you are". On my second Necromancer I was able to easily do the capstones at 40 and 60 respectively, why would I wait? I made sure to give the advice as general as possible to prevent having this exact kind of response. The goal is to do it as early as possible because the next difficulty is way more rewarding, that doesn't mean in any way shape or form that you should do it if you're not ready.
