Be carefull with aspect imprint as the level of your aspect will change the level of the piece of gear where you imprint your aspect on. what if it is the reverse? it doesn't matter if i imprint a non sacred/ancestral aspect to a sacred/ancestral equipment right? i will still get the max rolls
So you can fix the ranges by upgrading (and imprinting), just not fix the ilvl ultimately? In other words there's no difference imprinting sacred and ancestral, unless it's just to legendary?
I'm assuming that same process can work with putting lower aspects on high gear rolls? I didn't know you could upgrade reg leggy to sacred or ancestral with aspects. Thanks for the info!
I had a similar puzzling moment when I upgraded and imprinted a pair of gloves for my ice shards Sorc. I found a sacred +2 to ice shards pair of gloves and imprinted and upgraded fully, expecting to see a +3 skill result. The gloves rolled +4 skills and I couldn't figure it out. Must have been an ancestral aspect in my stash. Another interesting thing was I imprinted the defensive shield aspect on hitting a ln elite (name escapes me) and I used my level 90 Necro to imprint it because my Sorc hadn't unlocked the occultist yet. The result was a massive shield value in the thousands instead of about 400 or so that my Sorc would have had access to at such a low level. Must be lots of tricks and accidental benefits out there.
hi Wudi, can you explain some missing rolls on items, like shout cooldown reduction on chest piece, and resource generation on rings. I am lvl 63 barb. thanks. never seen these rolls at all.
Jesus, thanks Wudi ... i didnt even knew, that i could imprint legys with other aspekts O.o i could have so much better stats already if i knew that earlier. Thanks man! Keep up the good work.
I got a pair of yellow ancestral 815 gloves a few days ago, absolutely perfect rolls on stats for Attack speed, crit chance, trap skill cooldown, have to replace the 4th affix, just missing twisting blade. I rolled and rolled again, I never saw a single twisting blade rank, not even a bad one. I didn't imprint anything on it so it cost less if I don't turn it into a legendary. Should I just give up? Each roll cost like 10 mil now and I roll only once a day.
Would there be any benefit in this specific situation to use an ancestral legendary aspect instead of a sacred legendary aspect? Or do they both simply allow upgrades to +5 and allow that 50% boost?
I love these kinds of things in gear-dependent grind games like Diablo. ^^ Sometimes it works out, especially when you know about stuff like this. Sometimes it absolutely doesn't. ^^
Is it not better to upgrade the item first to see if it indeed would roll good before spending the money on rerolling the stats or is there a downside to that im not aware of? In the case of end game loot, if you have say gloves that have... 3 ranks to core, crit chc, attk speed and some other worthless stat but I used my roll on getting the crit chance. Then I find a pair of gloves with TWO ranks to core, crit chc, attk speed and a worthless stat that I can roll off. Would it not be better for me to upgrade it at the blacksmith first to see if im going to get atleast those 3 ranks to core before spending the money and hoping it will be an upgrade? (I'm actually asking im not sure if theres a problem with re-rolling a stat on a fully upgraded piece or not)
Two questions. 1) from normal to sacred the benefit is just one more upgrade? Affixed range and value remain the same? What about sacred to legendary, is it possible and what are the benefits? 2) I don't understand the 50 percent part. So from fourth to fifth upgrade your skills will be 1.5x? Does it only apply for the 4th to 5th?
Higher item power means higher rolls on the gear ? Why are you getting 612 item power items that req level 45 at level 68 ? I found one good 702 weapon directly after entering wt3 and so far until level 60 only one other over 700. Some armor stuff is still showing 500 item power range.
Does this work in reverse? If I imprint a "legendary" aspect onto an ancestral rare, it won't take away possible upgrades, will it? Is there any reason to avoid imprinting low level aspects onto higher level gear?
Is there any benefit to rerolling the Intelligence into Flurry before pushing it to the next item tier for the reroll? It seems like there's a risk of rerolling into +2 Flurry first and then having it end up a +1 Flurry following the tier bump reroll.
I'm not entirely sure why wouldn't they have coordinated the item power along with the stats it could roll? An item less than 625 only goes as high as like 3% or whatever and then greater than 625 it is greater than 3%? Maybe youd be at a range of only 97-98% at the top tier item possibly?
Great video, awesome explanation, one question left ! Found an amulette (ancestral item app. 780), it had max movespeed, cooldown red and +1 rank to defense. I rolled less ressource cost on it (which was expensive) and then upgraded it 5 times. Knowing I could end up with only a +2 and thought I still have a chance for +3, but it STAYED on +1 ! How is that possible ?
@@nznige its RNG if it rolls with +1 or +2 to start with, but if you upgrade a +2 five times, its allways a +3 in the end. But it seems like if you only have a +1 roll then its RNG if you get a +2 on upgrading or not. Curious to me, and I even heared people telling me you can get a +3 starting out at +1. No logic behind all of that IMHO. 😞
So lets say I have a sacred that has the rolls I want and is in a decent level range- would I be able to use an ancestral imprint to potentially increase its stat ranges and turn it ancestral?
No but it will use more resources for absolutely no reason whatsoever. Why? Because fuck you that's why. (Probably leftover from an old system that they felt didn't matter enough to change)
I think it would *technically* be considered an ancestral, but you would not get an item level boost nor would you be able to upgrade it past the fifth upgrade as normal.
you can turn it into ancestral but that does not change the item power (and ranges). It only gives you one more upgrade at the blacksmith, thus you can get 5 item power more. If that goes from 720 to 725 then yes, in all other cases no.
Weird system. But usually you dont use normel legendaries anyway. Wouldnt it be smarter to reroll after upgrading it so you can guarantee that you get the +3 upgrade?
Rerolls happen at each breakpoint level. Tier 1 - 1-149 Tier 2 - 150-339 Tier 3 - 340-459 Tier 4 - 460-624 Tier 5 - 625-724 Tier 6 - 725+ Sadly there is no 7th tier, though it seems like there was originally planned to be one at 825, but was cut....
@@blackkat101 if there was one at 825 it would screw up many BiS rolles items. You dont want another one. Upgrading it from 820 to 825 would be a gamble. This mechanic is ok for leveling, not in the endgame. Either you would screw up perfect items or every item below 825 would become thrash. This is why they removed the 825. Since there are no means to farm 825, the blacksmith was a liability.
@@marsovac Except that's only if they keep the current item levels. Yes, then it's fine. However it seems like there may be a World Tier V. With things like that, higher ipower levels, having the 825 breakpoint would make sense to be added. Breakpoints allow, like shown in the video, the ability to reroll items to hopefully better. You could drop something with terrible rolls, but the affixes you want. Now you have a chance to buff them up. I don't really think it would mess with rolls at all, but instead give other options. Since right now, you just have to pray to RNGesus that it drops with high rolls. This just puts the RNG on the reroll instead for the ranges while only needing to get at least the right affixes to drop. Thinking on it like that, I feel like it would give more options. 1. If it drops with a high rolls on all the affixes, you DON'T have to upgrade it past the break point. 2. If it drops with low rolls, you can reroll it by pushing it past the break point. This would honestly help make more gear possibly viable.
Oooo, didn't know about the sacred imprint part. I had it happen but didn't put 2 and 2 together. Also makes me think maybe I should clean out a bunch of the normal legendaries sitting in storage for a rainy day. Hmmm.
Is there any way to change what the blacksmith will roll when you cross the 625/725 thresholds? Since it seems predetermined, it must be based on some sort of seed on the item... does this change if you reroll a stat at the enchanter, or if you imprint onto it or something?
Is the rng set on the item? Or could you preview the upgrade and relog and have different stats if you didnt like what is was going to roll? Talking about hitting the breakpoint
What happens when you put a sacred aspect on an ancestral item? I currently have a level 5 amulet ancestral, an ancestral aspect with a low value - and a sacred aspect with max value, what would happen if I put in the sacred aspect to this item?

The 1.5x stats when imprinting a higher tier aspect doesn’t seem to work anymore. Did they patch it out?
Wait, did I see that right? You can imprint essentially just the "Sacred/Ancestral" Part of the aspect, but it not use the actual skillls??
If you use a normal aspect on a scared or ancestral item does it have the opposite effect and only give you 4/4 upgrade?
Where can I find the sacred legendaries aspects? I can't extract them from the Occultist :(
Can you imprint with ancestral and then roll for resource on rings? or does that not work
what if it is the reverse? it doesn't matter if i imprint a non sacred/ancestral aspect to a sacred/ancestral equipment right? i will still get the max rolls
Bester Mann
danke für die viele Tipps
So you can fix the ranges by upgrading (and imprinting), just not fix the ilvl ultimately? In other words there's no difference imprinting sacred and ancestral, unless it's just to legendary?
I'm assuming that same process can work with putting lower aspects on high gear rolls? I didn't know you could upgrade reg leggy to sacred or ancestral with aspects. Thanks for the info!
you can make ancestral unique from sacred rare by imprinting ancestral legendary power?
Very cool. So I assume we just need to be keeping eyes out for rares that have the right stats but not the right rolls?
So is it only one breakpoint? 620? or is there a higher one as well
Does it also work in reverse though? Like if you take a sacred item and imprint a non sacred aspect does it downgrade it or no?
So that's the advantage of aspect being sacred/ancestral. Nice :)
Jesus, thanks Wudi ... i didnt even knew, that i could imprint legys with other aspekts O.o i could have so much better stats already if i knew that earlier. Thanks man! Keep up the good work.
Did you tried to logout or even end the game to get another roll result? or is thsi fix on every item?
i love it like every D4 video has something like "insane, epic, ultra, mega, brutal" in titles xD
What happens if you have an ancestral item and put a normal legendary aspect on it, does is stay ancestral?
How does this +50% thing work? Is it every Ancestral item going from upgrade 4 to 5?
I got a pair of yellow ancestral 815 gloves a few days ago, absolutely perfect rolls on stats for Attack speed, crit chance, trap skill cooldown, have to replace the 4th affix, just missing twisting blade. I rolled and rolled again, I never saw a single twisting blade rank, not even a bad one. I didn't imprint anything on it so it cost less if I don't turn it into a legendary. Should I just give up? Each roll cost like 10 mil now and I roll only once a day.
does this work on sacred items reaching the breakpoint to become anscestral as well?
When I look at your character gear, what are the hour glass symbols in the top right of each piece of gear? None of my gear has that.
A little late for the party but if you still haven't figured it out - those are toggles for transmogs.
Would there be any benefit in this specific situation to use an ancestral legendary aspect instead of a sacred legendary aspect? Or do they both simply allow upgrades to +5 and allow that 50% boost?
No difference
I love these kinds of things in gear-dependent grind games like Diablo. ^^ Sometimes it works out, especially when you know about stuff like this. Sometimes it absolutely doesn't. ^^
Thanks for explaining this basic mechanic
if you chuck an ancestral aspect on it can you make it into an ancestral legendary and then abuse the breakpoints?
Super cool trick! Thanks!
Also, hoping the duplicate roll on the same item bug gets fixed.
How do u unlock the tabs to do this my ones are grayed out and am level 50
1) it's mostly about the additional upgrade
2) each upgrade is +10% so we go from +40% to +50% which means 2 skills becomes 3
So past 725 ilevel, its just looking for the perfect skill rolls on it?
Higher item power means higher rolls on the gear ? Why are you getting 612 item power items that req level 45 at level 68 ?
I found one good 702 weapon directly after entering wt3 and so far until level 60 only one other over 700. Some armor stuff is still showing 500 item power range.
Does this work in reverse? If I imprint a "legendary" aspect onto an ancestral rare, it won't take away possible upgrades, will it? Is there any reason to avoid imprinting low level aspects onto higher level gear?
eh didn't work on my ring it just rolled lowest again is that a possibility too?
How did my rare sword turn into a demon blade, idk what happened, i just upgraded, maybe the aspect changed it im not sure
Thanks a lot for the video , really good info !
Is there any benefit to rerolling the Intelligence into Flurry before pushing it to the next item tier for the reroll? It seems like there's a risk of rerolling into +2 Flurry first and then having it end up a +1 Flurry following the tier bump reroll.
How do you turn on stat ranges on your gear? When I look at mine it only shows one number and not the range that the stat could roll in
Options > Gameplay > Advanced tooltips (check both options)
i didn't know u could imprint onto an item that already had an aspect on it, u learn something new everyday\
ui nice, thanks for that video! didn't know that - i think i have to keep more attention on upgrading my items
So 625 is the breakpoint where they rerol stats? Any next breakpoint ?
For Amulet + Rings, is there a difference at 725+ between Sacred and Ancestral?
Yes, some affixes only roll on Ancestral items (Resource etc.)
What are all the breakpoints? on maxroll?
so i can imprint an aspect just to boost and then pick something i actually want?
daaamn , nice tips bruv , THANKS A LOT
How is that possible ?
isnt that just RNG?
@@nznige its RNG if it rolls with +1 or +2 to start with, but if you upgrade a +2 five times, its allways a +3 in the end. But it seems like if you only have a +1 roll then its RNG if you get a +2 on upgrading or not. Curious to me, and I even heared people telling me you can get a +3 starting out at +1. No logic behind all of that IMHO. 😞
@@Nagash-ol3oe hmm does it say 1-3 on the roll chance?
Wouldn't it still have a chance to roll only +2 ?
does the breakpoint also apply to 725?
Rerolls happen at each breakpoint level.
Tier 1 - 1-149
Tier 2 - 150-339
Tier 3 - 340-459
Tier 4 - 460-624
Tier 5 - 625-724
Tier 6 - 725+
Sadly there is no 7th tier, though it seems like there was originally planned to be one at 825, but was cut....
Super useful information! Thanks again!
can u degrade sacred/ancestor item if u put lower imprint (legendary imprint etc)?
Oooo, didn't know about the sacred imprint part. I had it happen but didn't put 2 and 2 together. Also makes me think maybe I should clean out a bunch of the normal legendaries sitting in storage for a rainy day. Hmmm.
Damn this is really good, thank you!
Ah. That is awesome! I didn't know the golden ones were from Sacred and Ancestral strictly. That should help me improve my power a bit more.
Cool! Got to keep an eye on the near breakpoint items. 👍
what if you imprint again with just legendary? will you lose the +1 to skill?
Very nice info as always Wudijo. Thanks a bunch! =)
Is there any way to change what the blacksmith will roll when you cross the 625/725 thresholds? Since it seems predetermined, it must be based on some sort of seed on the item... does this change if you reroll a stat at the enchanter, or if you imprint onto it or something?
I'd be curious if there was any way to reset the seed, e.g. by stash transfer or something.
Is the rng set on the item? Or could you preview the upgrade and relog and have different stats if you didnt like what is was going to roll? Talking about hitting the breakpoint
I have found no way to manipulate the previewed values yet
hell yeah brotha!! good tips
This is a great tip for going into seasonal.
What happens when you put a sacred aspect on an ancestral item? I currently have a level 5 amulet ancestral, an ancestral aspect with a low value - and a sacred aspect with max value, what would happen if I put in the sacred aspect to this item?
It will become sacred but retain it's ancestral stats
