"not until I'm upside down." If his body is upside down and he moves his head in the normal downward position...he is still looking up. That is how I see it.

Could have been a bar about Narcissus, since he already had a bar about Icarus. Narcissus looked into the water, saw his own reflection (short story) and drowned.
Also Peter was crucified upside down. Tom said he would look down when he's finally upside down.

Great breakdown guys. The raw emotion in this song is what got me. I'm HOG for life but this song hit different. Deeper. I think his black eyes are his inner demons talking and his form of therapy. Getting the thoughts and feelings of those inner demons out is the best way to beat them.

Nova is a badass they did this in there living room Nova had a major asthma attack night before had to call the ambulance for her. Tom was so worried he would let his fans down if he couldn't release the video..but Nova the badass felt better and she finished the video so it could be released. Tom was afraid she would push her self to much ..but she Never let's us down so much respect to Nova. Some of Tom's fans hated this video they thought he was arrogant. Those people have never accepted there demons and never ever felt that superstar feeling. I absolutely LOVE this video and song can't stop listening.. #hogs

I happen to be a 55yr old woman who has never had the slightest interest in rap, however, I am now Tom's biggest fan. His transparency, artistry and love of his fans is amazing and I can't think of anyone else who can equal what he's doing. Since no one else has addressed the line “as long as I am rising till I’m upside down I won’t look down” … he’s talking about gravity - once you rise above a certain altitude, gravity can no longer keep you upright and outer space takes over where your body twists & turns causing you to be upside down. He’s referring to the metaphorical height he is reaching in his career.

And I found Tom MacDonald at "Snowflakes" (from B Tatum) I have never listened to rap/hop (I'm a 68 yr old grandma) but now I have 7 albums a t-shirt and a hat believe it on not! At 10:00 mark you noticed Tom repeated until he is upside down he wont look down...in slang..to be upside down can mean down in the dirt..dead, essentially... but I follow the visual he creates and this is how I take it...he only looks.up...in the direction he is going...he would literally have to be hanging upside down to be looking down...hope you get what im.trying to say here...he will.not bend his neck...he is committed to where ever "up" leads...and the Peter walking across the water and not looking down...now, the water reference makes sense to me..it didn't before...fir real, I recently had a vision of being in a stomy ocean...standing on the surface..the waves to the left were so intimidating and I heard a voice behind me as a gentle nudge redirected th direction I was facing...the voice said "just dont look at the waves." That message matches this video's vibe 100%

Thanks guys... what Tom really does is poetry. He isn't a great singer. He doesn't have a great voice. But what he does give is great lyrics with layers of meaning. What he does give is clear enunciation, cadence changes and witty punchlines. What he does give is charismatic performances. And he has an amazing director in Nova. I hope they stay together as a team.
I too was not a fan of rap until Tom. I have spread out a bit to listen to other rappers, but I have found nobody that does what Tom does as well as Tom does it.
I want to put in a good word for Brian if it's ok #BrianIsOccasionallyRight.

While so many people in the beginning talked about him getting cocky saying he’s a super star. You have to listen to this song multiple times to really get small points he’s making. I loved the Bible reference! How true Cedric! This song shows how we are when we’re hurt and trying to overcome the pain. This was a good breakdown, I enjoy hearing both points of view. There are times I don't always agree with Brian but I do like to hear his point of view, Cedric I love your interpretation, it clears up a lot for me. I love Tom MacDonald, he says some funny stuff that really cracks me up! You two did a Great job catching everything in this video. This is a hard one to listen to (the song itself), as you can hear the emotion in Tom's voice at the end. I love the imagery (and you guys caught it too), of Tom sitting amongst the clouds like the old 50s Greek mythology movies This song/video is very reminiscent of "No Response". Not in it's sound but it's execution.

You know... I'm going to subscribe to you guys for the sole reason that you aren't rapper fans, but you both have great respect for Tom... for the same reason that I do (and I never liked rap either). It's his authenticity that attracts you, you know? (I also love that you're patriots and not afraid to show it)
