The beat it riff was not Paul Jackson Jr, it was Steve Luthaker. Steve also played guitar on human nature. Paul Jackson played guitar on another thriller track.
Got my 1980 Fender F30,big brother to the Super Champ, made only in 1980-supplied The Pixies and Bob Mould with that beefed up Fender sound. Great work,Mr. Rivera!!!
I have a mid 90's (94 I think) Rivera M60 that had a custom cabinet built for it. I bought it off "My Les Paul" forum a few years ago. I really like it. It is more than I need but can be set to bedroom/ recording levels that still sound great and is also gig-able. I built a pine 1x12 cab for it and couldn't be happier. One of five amps I own and the only one I prefer over it is my Tweed Deluxe, of course.
Poor lemmo must not have been able to leave his room . Locked up in his room all day learning all these song by heart. So glad for it. Like lemmos album. Very jazzy. Now we just need his blues rock album!!!
Normans Rare Guitars, Greetings from New Zealand Mate I have an old Paul Rivera, amp before it was famous. He or Fender had them made in Japan under the fender logo and I have one of those yrs old,, just love it, I think it is about 88?
I looked for a few years for a used Soldona to pair with my spruce Parker Fly looking for a good acousticish clean tone with the help of emulators. But, it was a flop. And the Soldona didn't like my es335 either. I should have bought the 24 fret PRS Myra I used to try out the amp. They paired so well together that I had an audience in the music store playing clean tones.
I have a 1982 Fender Concert (2), which was the first Fender series of amps with master/gain/and volume. Paul Rivera designed and built that line, as he worked for Fender at the time. List price was about $700, very expensive for that era. I paid $500 cash for it at the late, great E.U. Wurlitzer Co.. Boston. Today that amp would be a “boutique” amp and over $2,000. I have Tweed Deluxes, Black Panel Deluxe Reverbs, and a ‘69 Marshall 100 Watt Super Lead. The ‘82 Concert is still the best amp I own. The Concert 2 was the first channel switching Fender amplifier, and it works to perfection. My only complaint-not really a complaint-is no tremolo. Switching out the stock 12” speaker with a Celestion made the amp sing like a Marshall. Great spring reverb, and at 60 watts it can do the job in any venue. Thank you, Paul!
It is definitely a great amp but Paul only designed the Super Champ. From "The Soul of Tone" by Tom Wheeler...." In January 1981 Paul Rivera is hired by Fender as Marketing Director. In May he scopes out their next range of guitar amps. The Super Champ was one of his own designs - the rest are designed by the Fender team in fulfilment of Rivera's specifications."
That was a fun video and Norm, I would get one of those amps, if I could afford it! They sound mega! but I will wish you a Happy Birthday one more time! Thank you guys and gals!
Happy birthday to you happy birthday to you happy birthday to you Norm happy birthday to you. And many more lol thanks mr. Rivera thanks BigAl California praise Jesus Christ grace grace grace amen 🙏
Hey Paul there are over 280 Guitar Center locations and if they all buy together surely you will give G.C. a lower price than Norman so they can sell it cheaper and put all the mom & pop shops out of business ? Did you know Gibson, Fender, Martin and Marshall all make G.C. exclusives, you know products made by them that you can only buy from G.C. not someone like Norman

Paul Jackson Jr played on lady in my life.
Steve Lukather and Paul Jackson Jr did both used a Rivera modified Deluxe reverb on their thriller tracks. Great players, great amp!
To see Norm back, so vital, so engaged, and such stories into the music industry. Bless you Norm.
Yup.
Paul Rivera Sir is a truly amp guru genius! Awesome video !!!
modifier of amp design.
Every guitar amp designer is a modder an existing amp design, including Leo Fender.
Happy Birthday, Norm. Hope there are many more in the future.

Beautifully sounding amp!
How much for the Stage 4?
I love my 2 Rivera amps and want more. They all sound great, and this one does too.
Happy Birthday Norm and many more!!!!
Happy birthday legend
An extremely great amp. I have played at full volume and it sounds as great as at 1.

That tremolo is Tremendous! Seriously it sounds killer though
The reverb definitely works
I have 2 Rivera's. They're awesome!

⚓️ Thanks Jen Paul Mike 😎 NORM!!! 🎸
This amp is probably a gem. Deluxe Reverb and then some. I want one!!!😢
Have it. Own it. Never will part with it. Already gone up $500 at SW since a year ago. Amazing amp.
Oh man for $24.99 I’m on it!
Norm's guy (Michael?) has some serious chops. Also, the amp sounds amazing, like most of Rivera's amps.

These amps are amazing! Well worth the bucks.
Happy Birthday, Norm! My birthday is at the end of the month! Enjoyed the video! I like the amp!
el amplificador fender 75 era rivera (fue diseño de Ed HANS ) ,
Love to see Paul walk thru the Yamaha G100 ll please 😀
Great Jay Graydon impression there, Paul.
My first amp was the Yamaha G100 212 II ... designed by Paul Rivera.
Steve Lukather played the beat it riff..
I’m loving my Stage IV
It’s got that Phil Keaggy tone to it. 😊
Love you Norm
Wish I never sold my Rivera so amazing
I hope my life never gets to that point.
I think it was Steve lukather who played on beat it
Hi. Anyone know what that song is beginning at 6:47 ?
who cares i think he plays that beginning three times a week
Steve Lukather played all the guitar parts and bass on Beat It minus the solo.
@@sollyharr Luke did use the Rivera modded Fender on Beat It.
That amp is amazing
That Jay impression is hilarious. Just discovered the guy and that sounded exactly like him.
I am coveting this amp big time! Whoowee!!!
Nice amp and a player made it so.
I've owned 3 Rivera amps, two RockCrushers and several Rivera pedals. I dig them all, but maybe I'm biased... ;)
The guitarist in Slipnot used to use the Rivera head, sounds killer.
7:20 what is this song?
Mr. Rivera, you should check out Weber Speakers, hand made in Kokomo Indiana.
Nice playing
I love Rivera amps, I just dont like how big the name is and where its placed on front.
Was he playing growing pains by ludacris?
Hey Norm!! You probably remember m?. I bought a 335 from you around 83. LOL
Sounds lovely - although I still prefer a more ‘British’ M-sounding overdrive.
What's the track the guitarist is playing at about seven minutes in ?
They had to do another video because There was too much guitar playing in the last video 😂. Awesome video love ya norm
Hero!!!!
Better pick one up before Paul is no more or retires. Amazing amp.
Can someone identify the song he is playing when he starts? I know it's a hip hop song but now it's really bugging me...great tone :)
It’s all about the midrange man!!!
Sounds just like Jay Graydon, so hilarious
Love this sound, reminds me of the doobie bros
Crap. Now I need a Rivera. That's a pretty sweet sounding amp
Yeah, but can you turn it up to 11?
Nice amp sounds great how much does it weigh?
Norm is looking a bit older, bless him
Can buy a cheep valve amp put a mulity effects processor threw the clean return with a klone boost they cream
What model LP is that?
I'd go for a little more Reverb. 😉
How much is it?
Aye!🤟
Paul Rivera builds great amps. What does that Stage 4 weigh?
About 60 lbs
Hellalot
Beefy
👏👏👏👏😊
I thought Luke was playing Beat it. At least that's what he says. 😉

I would like to hear Nick play OH Well by The Rockets over this amp please
I can't help about the shape I'm in
I can't sing, I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to
Oh well
Now, when I talked to God I knew he'd understand
He said, "Stick by my side and I'll be your guiding hand
But don't ask me what I think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to"
Oh well
why not by Fleetwood Mac's Peter Green's "Oh well" since he wrote it and played it the best?
@@sixslinger9951 sorry I like the new and improved version LOL
What do these amps go for ?
On Sweetwater for $2499.00!
Does that include a condom and ky jelly storage and dispenser?
@@thomaspick4123 Not all that bad for a high end tube amp.I'd rather have a Mesa tho.
I saw Les Dudek play out of Rivera amps. Loud a f !!!
opening with a Luda beat.... I'm sure that was what he was going for
Do you know the name of that song? I’ve been trying to remember it for an hour now. I thought is was sampled in a Jurassic 5 song or something.
Found it. “Worst Comes to Worst” by Dilated Peoples.
Miiighhht want to rethink the specific model name.
Can I have it?
Lekmmo messed up the birthday song on purpose!
Sounded good until the distortion kicked in
Dude, I need this amp! Is it true bypass? Carbon free? Are the knobs frequency friendly? Can it get Eddy's "negro sound?" Asking for a friend
To much money for low sound.
Why waste the space and money by putting tremolo in an amp and when you're playing a nice Les Paul, take off your jacket that has the metal buttons.
Norm should turn up the heat so everyone doesn't have to sit around in coats.
How would you know if I lied or not unless this is mark soft **** but I never lied about anything
🤪don’t forget to get your booster shot please!😷
