Lylat is great for Pacman, Game & Watch, and Duck Hunt. I am starting to see a trend...
YoshiHunter_RedX and characters that have tools that are great at crossing through either ledge.
Lylat is picked not because it is particularly good for certain characters, but because it shits on two thirds of a roster. Luckily, I play D3, so I get to be the shitter, not the shitted.

So Pac-mains are masters of vector subtraction, deflection and fluid dynamics? No wonder I have a hard time against them
I mean... When you have to strategically out manouver 4 ghosts trying to kill you for a living for almost 50 years, you get some tricks up your sleeve
technically its vector addition, but not really since individual magnitudes dont get added up. its more like finding the cross product as a unit vector and then projecting

obviously, he would win EVO just by calculating the exact angle and distance he needs to throw the bell for it to get hit by the hydrant for launch and then he can use the water pressure to pac-dash to mixup and when the opponent thinks they are safe he hits them with a calcuated galaxia to fire hydrant offstage, simple math
he does take some skill

Pac-Man is like a really well designed puzzle game in that, when you combine two or more elements it produces an interaction that you’ve never seen before (because there are so many combinations!), but is perfectly logical.
That pacman hitting himself on the floor with his side-B in the firsts seconds of the video make me laugh so hard idk why lmao

Another trick that not many people know about is that if you use the trampoline right on top of the hydrant, the water will still shoot up.
You: Up-tilt

Pac-Man: (does a hydrant boost and slides over to Mario while charging f-smash)

Regarding side B, you can also use it to do a sort of extended/easy 2 frame by floating/placing it directly next to the ledge against characters with linear recoveries that possess a hitbox. Colliding with the pellet will put them in hitstun/hitlag freeze, and with Pac-Man having basically no lag, he can throw out a quick option like an angled forward tilt to 2 frame them with relative ease.

One fun detail about the hydrant is that is always has an active hitbox, specifically a HITbox, this means that you can stand close as a character with a counter, and it will activate and hit the hydrant. You can use this to stay in the pacmans face while he tries to set up on you.
This is why Pac-man is one of my favourite characters.

1:53 this technique can also be done with characters who have attacks that moves them up a little bit such as ZSS, sheik, and bowser down air
I once knocked the fire hydrant at my friend, he knocked it back at me, then I hit it again, he went flying with low damage and instantly died. He was playing as Palutena.
Finally another tech video. Used to love these in SSB4. Not that Smash Review isn't good too, of course.
6:20 i discovered you can stand on the hydrant and down throw right before the water comes out and it launches heavies at a horizontal and downward angle. It works for most percents and kills at 120 or above at ledge
You didn't have to do this, especially with such a small used character, but I love you so much for doing it. I really learned very important things from this that might actually improve my performance.

Everyone knows it's a galaxian. I still say galaga regardless, because nobody cares, and galaga sounds better.
If up prime the hydrant and upB right next to it while on the ground, the hydrant will be sent straight up and slightly towards the center stage, while preserving the trampoline.
This is good for edguarding, all options except for wait and drop down are covered 👍

a cool concept is using neutral B charge as a sort of parry because if they attack the fruit there is hit-stop giving pacman time to shield/parry

I always knew that hydrant and fruit trick shots were like soccer ball tricks turned up to 11, but this is crazy!
This is super helpful since I like to make my friends life hell by playing Pac-Man
Pellet Loop + hydrant is useful as a set up for ledge trap

I would love a guide on Tech for ROB! I can share some of the tech I have learned as well if needed! His gyro is extremely versatile and would make for a great video :)
He has tech, but not as much as Pac-man so It wouldn't be a long video.
He mainly has launching angle gyro stuff and laser bouncing.
How people are able to play Pac-Man like this is beyond me. Props to everyone who has that much dedicated time on their hands.
The best part is that PuckMan can summon fire hydrants at any time. I wish I could do that...

All this set ups with the down B are cool.....but the oponet will not be still during all the match XD...the best way To use the Down B tricks try to get the oponet out of the stage so you can have time to do the tricks..because if he is in the stage the oponet will run towards you and hit you
Ive discovered for myself that on the ledge, if u move the shield upwards, if the opponent doesnt have a nice vertical recovery hes dead tho

Some of these feel like glitches but I hope they aren't patched. It's technical depth like this, accidental or not, that gives the game longetivity. People may dislike things like wavedashing in Melee, but its because of that kind of thing that has kept it alive so long. I want that for Ultimate; it's truly an amazing game.

Just fought a pacman on elite and he busted out a hyrant on trampoline at ledge and fucked me up bad. As well as a bunch of these tricks. I got sauced so bad i had to look this up

Galiga plus hydrant makes a lot of pressure. Galiga also has dumb combos with it

Galaxian. GALAXIAN!
Galaga is what inspired Pac-Man's grab and is also a normal item. The yellow ship in the fruit rotation is a Galaxian. Different ship from a different game!
So much coverage of Pac-Man mixes this up and it makes me so mad even though it totally doesn't matter. But hey if we can spend the time to learn the proper names for all of Game and Watch's moves and that Rob's top is a gyromite, we can learn the difference between Galaga and Galaxian.
And the bell is from Mappy.
They are literally part of the same franchise, and galaga sounds nicer. People know the difference, or lack thereof, and don't care. If you call it the galaxian every time, it gets old incredibly fast.
Ga-la-ga sounds infinitely nicer than ga-lax-i-an
