Good review and good callout on that uneven grind. I would also like to have a pocket clip and don't appreciate being nickel and dimed. Leatherman is supposed to be the leader in multi-tools so they need to step up their game. I do like the magnet system a lot though as I just don't have long thick fingernails like some dudes so I have always struggled (and therefore avoid buying) anything that has fingernail grooves to open things.
Richard A yeah man it’s a great idea just feels incomplete. The one handed open on the knife is really tough and kinda dangerous but the rest of the tools come out smooth. Just wish theyd done some more testing and improvements as they are not selling these puppies on the cheap.
There appears to be a LOT more plastic than I would have imagined from looking at the still images. The more I see reviews of the Free series the less excited I get compared to when they were first announced.

I cut my finger wide open cutting a clam package many years ago so I can definitely appreciate the opener. Shame they didn’t include a clip though.

a piece of paracord through that hole on the end with a small split ring attached to a mini dangler and you have a pocket clip
