    So fun to hear such a variety of responses! This is a really useful lesson. I love how you mix up a more formal presentation with a social phone call - a real exchange between natives!

    Gosto muito de assistir os teus videos. Muito obrigado. Pode explicar como usar a palavrar "basta" ? Oico essa palavrar com a frequência alto mas não tenho certeza exatamente que significa🙏🙏🙏🙏

    • @PortugueseUnlocked
      @PortugueseUnlocked  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Olá Sr. Asiático na Europa,
      "Basta" significa "enough" em inglês. Normalmente, esta palavra é usada em dois contextos:
      1. Imagina, alguém está a dizer algo que tu não achas adequado ou não concordas, se tu queres que a pessoa pare então podes DAR UMA ORDEM dizendo "Basta!", "Já chega!" ou "Para!".
      2. Imagina, estás num restaurante e o empregado de mesa está-te a servir um copo de vinho, e tu vês que ele está a exagerar na quantidade que te está a dar, então podes DAR UMA INDICAÇÃO para que este pare de servir o vinho.
      Assim sendo, no quotidiano, quando ouves a palavra "basta" provavelmente pode-se tratar ou de uma ordem ou de uma indicação.
      Faz sentido?
      Abraço!

    the double meaning of mente is literally the same as italian ahaha, i'm just starting to notice how many portuguese words are basically the same as italian. it's only the pronouncation that slightly changes
