    Nice quality "how-to" video! Solid info, clear directions, and nicely executed demonstrations! These cards are now in that age group for maintenance so I expect you will be getting a lot more hits in the near future. I'm going custom loop now that the fans are starting to give up (nothing like living in dusty semi-rural areas to wear out electronics faster). Thanks for the fastest reference video I have yet to see!

    Fan replacement worked great in the end following these instructions, but two of the fan screws heads got stripped (probably by my poor technique) so I had to drill them out and just stick with two screws. Seems fine and I'll glue if I get any rattling. Thanks!

    I changed my thermal paste last night. It made no difference to the highest temperature, but I did notice that the speed in which the temperature drops when it goes from high usage to low usage changed dramatically. I think these chips are expected to be around 70°C when under full load, I'm happy now my card can transfer heat rapidly away.

    use 2.5mm thermal pads if using thermalright or GE Extreme pads, the stock nvidia ones are much softer on the shore scale so compress.

    Thanks for video... What was your temps at before and after doing this thermal paste replacement? My 3070 FE is very loud and its been annoying me lately!

    • @TakeThatScrewOut
      @TakeThatScrewOut  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No worries bro! before i've change the paste i've played COD Warzone for an hour, this card plays temps between 65 to 72 deg on my setup. At the moment i'm still working to record gameplays on this gpu after repasting how it performs. i will post it when its done.

      @@Quaid1 sometimes some pc case are not very good on dissipating heat inside the case, i don't know about you which case you're using.. Probably you need to repaste and clean thoroughly your heatsink and fans, its worth doing.

      @@TakeThatScrewOut Hi again... just getting around to this now, GPU's running about 85c whilst playing BG3, whether case side is on or not, so feels like GPU's cooling has had it. Got decent in/out on the case as well (Phanteks Enthoo Evolv, 2 front intake, 1 rear exhaust) with Noctua CPU heatsink and 2 x Noctua fans on that with pull/push setup, exhausting to the rear out the back of the case. I'll report back in the next few days!
      Can I ask 1 more Q though please... you say pads are 1.5mm thick all round, but you've linked to 2.0 and 2.5mm pads? Thanks!

    • @TakeThatScrewOut

      @@kevlol2146 I haven't done the TI version of this gpu yet to be honest..the ti and non ti version has a different layout of the fans, it seems like the fan of the ti versions has a Push & Pull setup..(not 100% sure) meaning one is intake and the other is exhaust. Try to observe the direction of the rotation of both fans. For sure the Bottom one is the one intake. If there's a problem with that fan possibly the fan controller, you could claim warranty via RMA if still valid.

    If i just want to clean the fins on the GPU then do I still need to remove the ribbon cable and backplate? 👀

    • @TakeThatScrewOut
      @TakeThatScrewOut  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi bro! The Ribbon is the connector for the Fan..so, if you want to clean your Heatsink thoroughly and the back of the Fan blades..unfortunately, you need to remove both ribbon and Fans to access the Inner side of the fan blades. But if you have Air Blower available, you don't need to remove both Fans, just remove the Silver metal Shroud then Blow air the heatsink fins.
