I think the vast majority of those "super investors" became too complicated, forgetting the genesis of investing. Like what was the last time Michael Burry actually BEAT the S&P?
Also, if you see cheap stock like PYPL @60$ that can earn you 200$ in FCF over the next 10 years and you believe in it - should you really worry about macro? when did this approach made someone rich?? 🤦♂
Yeah for just beating the S&P, a simple approach could be better. But if you're involved in options and hedging too like that druckenmiller guy then these complicated plays do need to happen. Otherwise the classic value investing approach gets you some down years as well where the needle doesn't move at all, not unlike druckenmiller who's making 30% for 30 years without any down year. But otherwise the classic approach beats the S&P by a little bit and is headache free.
Think you would need some pretty Rosey assumptions to say that PayPal will deliver $200 FCF per share over 10 years. They're currently at 14X FCF
@@aightm8 Yes maybe.. but 120$ will give you great returns too. In any case, I am a bull, I believe in 10% CAGR revenue growth and margin expansion - possibly a significant one with this new management

I just fail to understand why would any retail investor take the risk of buying Baba or any other chinese stocks considering the ongoing landscape of US-China cold war and China vs Democracy scenario. I understand the value presented by some great companies like Baba but just the fact that they are based in China is a big enough factor to ignore the investment. There are plenty of value plays in ex china world ( literally anywhere except China and Russia). DO NOT follow these Super Investors because the amount of money they are investing in Chinese equities is negligible compared to their total net worth or total funds under management.
