- On the 2nd of November a tigress known as T1 or Avni was shot dead. The orders were given to either tranquilise or shoot the tigress after 13 people were killed in the area over a two year period. But the killing of the tigress has sparked off a bitter nationwide row, involving animal lovers and politicians, farmers and conservationists. Was the protocol breached in the killing of the tigress as a professional shooter was called in for the job and the allegations are there was no veterinarian doctor with him at the time, and that the tigress was shot at night? There are only 3900 tigers remaining in the wild and humans are 140cr in india. Why would this villagers go to Tiger's territory and cry that it is killing us. There is no enough land in india for a Tiger to live in. We humans are the virus destroying the Tiger's habitat.

It's a curse to be born an Indian villager because his life has less value than a man eating tigress. Do these armchair activists realize that their air-conditioned apartments stand on land once inhabited by wildlife including tigers which was cleared by driving away or killing these creatures. Whose value of life is more? That of a human being or a tiger?!? The lady on the panel was so irritating and ill informed (or she pretended so) that it was very difficult to bear with her. Continuous poking at anyone rather everyone speaking in the panel was so disgusting that it definitely called for her eviction or a severe warning from the programme anchor who was conducting the show. Mr. Kartik, the lawyer and Nawab Sharath Ali Khan, the renowned shooter and a shooting team member, in this particular case showed profound knowledge over the subject, confidence and excellent composure. By the way how many panel discussions were there on the thirteen people who lost their lives? None I believe!!!

I just heard the factual account and history of this case and that tiger. It will make you sick to you stomach. It is incredibly clear that in our modern era of comfort humanity has very little concept of the reality of nature. Thousands of morons looking at a tiger on TV and see a big version of little precious snuffles and it pisses me off. No one has any respect for reality anymore. The way these guys are acting in this video is completely disgusting. self righteous pricks feigning ignorance and telling lies because they think they are doing the right thing. Thousands of people had to live in fear of this thing while conservationist rallied support for snuffles the fluffy kitty demanding authorities not get involved even after people started dying. DNA analysis from the tiger saliva on one of the poor dead woman's flesh stripped bones proved that T1 was the killer. They trapped the tiger and and held in captivity on open acreage where it could have comfortably spent the rest of its days. That is until the conservationist mob demanded that it be set free. Of course the killing started again. after trying for about a year to tranq the thing and 14 human bodies later they finally decided shoot it. You disconnected self righteous vaginal blisters who think that some injustice was done here deserve to be locked up. Those people died because of activists petitioned the courts, sold nonsense sob stories to the public that ultimately tied the hands of anyone willing to help. Those 14 dead people and all the orphans left behind are on you. I want to see someone held accountable FOR THAT.

Man eaters are made by 3 circumstances. 1) if it's too old to hunt natural prey 2) if it's injured and is unable to hunt and the last reason is if it's mother teaches the cubs to hunt humans. On this case had the tiger not been killed , it would have introduced it's cubs to human killing. This would've ensured that there would've been 2 or 3 more man eaters in future

as a wildlife enthusiast I used to think bad about Shafat ali khan but after that episode my views have been changed. in my views ambika is just a person who likes to sit inside AC rooms & talk bulls*it like intellectuals & doesnt has an inch of idea about the ground realities of the situations of villagers. still us being in the darkness & not getting any full analysis of the Avni killing from NTCA & MH Forest dept we dont know the truth. we need WCCB to investigate the matter well.
I agree, well if she loses her loved one, then she will know the pain. My classmate lost his sister became of a tiger attack and this happened in front of him, it took him many years to recover from that tragedy. Also, once a tiger becomes a man eater, it will alway remain one for life. Hence, it's important to bring it down. Additionally, tranquilizing the animal and keeping them in the Zoo, would be even more worse, because of the poorly kept conditions, you’ll kill them mentally. It's better to end their misery. Also, a debate is a formal discussion on a particular subject, allow the person to speak, so that you completely understand what is said and then respond with your thoughts. Please respect the speaker, it's not a fish market, you people are educated, please behave like one, the world is watching you; please set proper examples. As much as I oppose the killing of the tigress, I can say that this so called "animal activist" lady knows nothing about tigers or conservation or man-animal conflicts. She thinks man eaters are generally old male tigers, whereas the most feared man eater in India, the Champawat Man Eater, shot by Jim Corbett in 1907, was a young, female tigress, who had killed in total 436 people in India and Nepal. Also, she thinks tigers don't stalk prey in human settlements, when domestic animals are often killed and taken by tigers in many areas of the country. Also another random "animal activist" thinks that man-eaters only kill humans and stop killing animals altogether, which is not at all the case.
Having said that, there are definitely issues with the killing of Avni, lot of red tape involved, lack of management and efficiency in solving such human animal conflict problems. Also, an important thing to remember. T1 had two cubs. A tigress with cubs is a much more cautious and defensive animal and will not hesitate to attack humans if provoked. And in a region with so many human settlements, such a scenario is not at all rare.

I have read Nawabs book Avani T1 and then come to the point that whatever he and his entire team done with tigress was correct and they also followed all the forest law.. actually Nawab is the true animal lover and he had so much experience how to treat tiger or other animals.. he tried his best to tranquilize and captured but Avani was so sharp to escape from all the traps. Now i turned to this So called animal lover lady just shut your mouth.. When villagers living under the dangerous situation and tigress killed people at that time nobody visit to the village and take responsibility.. Efforts were made to contain the tiger for more than 15 months by the forest department, and other administrators without success. Nawab was only requested to come and help when all attempts failed. He dint show up there uninvited. Senior officers of the forest dept were assisting him, authorised by the govt. I think he has done big favor to the villagers by eliminating the maneater. one or 13 kills do not matter. People that are not familiar with wild life should not be making decisions. Also the lady participant should learn how to participate in group discussion, she was interrupting every speaker.

It is the failure of our forest Department in tranquilizing and relocating a cornered animal which lead to chaos. Due to this delay in rescue by forest department poor animals has to be killed , because no one can justify human killing.
