Your channel is very unique! Not many artists share their process with all ups and downs and their thoughts and emotions about their work like you do. And joy and happiness always shine through! It’s a real pleasure to watch your videos.
Your happy energy shines through your paintings. It is interesting how you repeat a image on different canvas and keep working the image in different ways. Beautiful! "Have fun with your paints" -great advise!
Hello Melinda, isn't funny how some subjects want to be repeated and others .... once is enough !!!! Thank you for watching and leaving a lovely message XX
Phew.... and breathe 😂 I love the way you paint flowers especially the 'small' pots you've been working on. We've had a mad couple of weeks and both of us have had no time to work on our arts n crafts. But we plan to make up for it now. A viewer from USA sent us ' The Boy, the mole, the fox and the Horse' book this week and it's full of quotes that stop you in your tracks. You mentioned procrastination due to trying to reach perfection - one of the quotes in the book reads 'The great illusion is that life should be perfect'. I think I'll have that tattooed somewhere. Another fabulous Art Weekly and another shot of inspiration from you - thanks Gaynor xxx
What an excellent quote!!!! I think as small children we are somehow taught not to make mistakes but that leaves us striving for perfection & we miss that the learning & adventure & creativity is in the so called mistakes & it takes us a lifetime to unlearn this.
Oh Happy Day! I've seen this on a Thursday in Australia. As an artist, just playing with paint is a simple pleasure. Oh Happy Day - finding the clearing!
Speaking of ENJOYING and having fun with your art….I have been watching a fella called Bob on TH-cam. Bob Blast …(Robert Burridge) painting and he was explaining his own colour wheel theory and demonstrating florals in a jar…… called BobBlast 368 - Color Combo Lesson. Spectacular! Put me in mind of you and your florals.
Love having a ring side seat as you share your process! You inspire me to ‘have a go’ - so pleased to see your well deserved channel growth! Thankyou Gaynor ❤
You are a joy! I look forward to Thursday every week. Thank you for sharing not always being perfect. I have a lot of work I have started to revisit and what fun it is to look at it with a different perspective.
Hello Gaynor,Love the day Lillie’s ,their colour is so bright and beautiful..I was a gardener for 25 years and do miss seeing all the lovely flowers, plants and trees etc but every Thursday you bring them to me along with your happy positive outlook!I think it’s really is a great idea to have different paintings on the go at the same time,I must try that!I,like many others focus on one project at a time and it can be so intense and ends up frustrating and lowers your mood🫣!!Thanks so much for sharing your tips and techniques, hope you have a great inspiring day in London!❤
Agree, Beverly. I get so intensely focused on 1 painting and it bogs me down and prevents me from spurring onto others and cheer myself up…happy painter, happy paintings! Gaynor is inspiring me too- to just stop with the frustration on 1 painting and try something else on another, or in Gaynor’s case, MANY others!
WOW! Jammed packed productive week! Lots of successes definitely helps your productivity!! Your chain of one thing leading to another is a concept I’m trying to embrace, thanks to you! It’s a brilliant idea. I get so A.D.D. on just 1 painting and it holds you back creatively. Curious about a nagging thought we have about about a paintings salability, for example your using fluorescent pink-would a buyer be off put by colors that won’t harmonize with their home environment OR, as an artist, should that never be a concern of ours as it would hinder or damper our creativity? Good topic for you to explore with us? Love your work this week❤❤
Hello Beverley, always a pleasure to read your kind messages X What a fantastic job...nature is wonderful. Try mixing in a few small things alongside your main painting...you'll be surprised to see how they talk to one another !! Have a wonderful week XX
Hello Sherrie, Such a great point....I'm asking myself who might like that pink chair !!! As the artist I had to see the pink and acknowledge that not every painting will sell. I think that first and foremost you have to paint for yourself in order for the work to be authentic ? XX
Seeing the bright colors speaks Springtime to me, love them! Glad you added the third abstract little painting to the background of your chair painting, odd numbers are comforting. Seeing you take paint from the tube and apply it is so brilliant, what a great idea! Have a great week.

Great video, love the addition of the brighter colors, makes your paintings pop. I am inspired to keep going with a new painting I have started but go slowly and step back as you did with the daylillies painting. Get a fresh look before continuing!! Hello Sandra, thank you for watching and commenting...good luck with your painting....another good idea is to move the painting to a different spot every now and then....somehow it works !!! Have a great week XX
All of these paintings deliver joy and surprise. I love the way you stay inquisitive and enjoy the journey. Wonderful lessons to be learnt here - thank you Gaynor.
Good morning from Utah, USA. I really like the new pillow on pink chair. The black and white was too heavy for my taste. I like the direction The Bather is going. I really like pots, the pink and black seems very fresh and spring like. Wishing you a wonderful week. Happy painting.
I've literally just bought an easel for 4.50 from charity shop! Much better than working on the flat. You're so right about fear of making mistakes...we need to chill out and not worry so much...its only paper and a bit of paint! Loving the pink btw x

Gaynor enjoy your trip to London. Great video seeing all the happy colors you are painting. I managed to keep my bunch of Tulips alive with only 1 getting chomped off by the rabbit. I brought the bud inside & placed it in a small glass dish & with a little water & it opened & the color of these Tulips are an Orange & Yellow with the Black center & it's been such fun to just view it up close. Loving all your bright colors & the tabletop easel looks great. Until next week.

Hello Gaynor. Love the pink. The times you change a painting makes me smile. You must get through lots of paint. Do you have a favourite brand, and how do you store it all? Would love to know your storage tips. Have a lovely week.💐

Hi Sherrie, and thank you for a great question. I have been wondering about the pink chair and I just had to see it !!! Your joyousness is infectious. Kudos for sharing your thoughts, process, products. On that topic, please, what is the model number of the table easel? I can't read it when I blow the image up. A simple functional design which I can't seem to find simply by searching Vision Folding Table easel. Thank you Yvonne in rural Ontario, Canada
@@gaynorpattle Thank you, Gaynor. I went back at Amazon, dug deeper, found it! Appreciate your caring. Our artists' collectif was hanging our Big Show today but we still found time to discuss your energy, creativity & sharing. Thank you repeatedly!
Thank you for another wonderful lesson. I’ve noticed a white cord on the back of your framed pieces, I realize it’s for hanging but all I’ve ever seen is wire. Please explain how it’s used.
Hello Marsha, In my experience professional framers use wire but for sometime I've taken part in hanging exhibitions locally....wires are hopeless when you want to adjust the hanging position on the wall. Our groups are asked to use 'D' rings and cord that is tied with a reef knot and this allows for some adjustment! Hope this makes sense !!
Not doing something because you think it should be perfect is called “Paralyzed Perfectionism”. A wonderfully descriptive term! Only machines can create perfectionism…in art it’s cold, flat, has no personality or life. Look at AI art. It’s perfect and I hate it. Even looking at hyper realistic art leaves me a bit cold. I always think, why not take a photo instead? 😁

Hope this makes sense !!
what is the white glaze Gaynor uses to cover the drawing before she adds paint?
The white glaze is acrylic white paint.....a very thin coat !!
I'm seeing a Tee saying " NO to Paralyzed Perfectionism" X
