That question was answered before the internet got created but let’s pretend like tv talk shows that sit around talking about nothing is any different than what people do now or in 50 years when they’re still getting paid to do basically nothing
Envy is pretty much always an ugly trait. It usually leads to characters being really good villains too, like Scar from the lion king. People love to hate him and his primary sin was envy (apart from the murder of course). A lot of the disney villians are based on envy, Ursala, Gaston, Hades, Queen Grimhilde from snow white (had to look that one up). it is probably the villain trait that is most despised because of how people subconsciously relate to the feelings of envy. They do not like that feeling of them being portrayed as a evil through the villain in the story, so they are usually become one of the most despised villain types. I think the only one that can beat that in terms of hatred, would be when the villain hurts or destroys something that the person watching likes, most recent example of this is the Suicide Squad: KTJL with the batman scene particularly.
Considering they still have their teeth, face, earned money, family, and it's not putting them in jail or making them homeless your statement is an extremely hard hell no, not even close.

Yeah and most parents that preach life not being fair have miserable kids. Life ain't fair. Doesn't mean you should put up with it (in most cases). No voice or words so no chance of people hating on what he says or the specific way he says it. 4. Timing of creating account and regular posting on tiktok. I think around covid iirc. There is also a lot of 'baggage' that the term anti-racist carries. A call to action is already a little preachy, but most people don't care about a call to action... Anti-racist is a term coined by Ibram X. Kendi, who states that racism isn't just believing that a race is bad, or that some races are superior to others, but that "Racism is a marriage of racist policies and racist ideas that produces and normalizes racial inequities" So it doesn't matter if you aren't racist, the system is racist. If you do anything to support this system of racist policies, or are even apathetic to them, then you are part of the problem. By not raging against the machine, you are implicitly racist.... One of the main issues with this, is that when the definition of racism has the word 'racist' in it, it is entirely circular and self-referential. There is no way to determine if something is indeed racist, thus, you might be supporting something like... idk, eliminating race discrimination in hiring, which sounds like it is against racism, but these same people will call THAT racist, because you aren't supporting preferential hiring of marginalized groups, and thus, furthering the racial inequity in the racist system. So, lots to unpack there. Those who see the term 'anti-racist' and understand the people who coined it... are usually going to be against it. The beauty of catch-phrases and sloganeering... is you can give a movement a nice name, with a bunch of wild insane beliefs behind it.. and when people come out against it, you can throw the slogan in their face. 'Oh, you don't like these policies? You aren't Anti-Racist? You must be a white supremacist.' EDIT: A lot of people just use the word without knowing the context, like the 'From the river to the sea' or the OK emoji. They are just saying/doing stuff cause they saw/heard someone say/do it, not knowing the baggage it caries, and they get caught in the culture war.

The reason he's so popular compared to the people trying hard with their content is that hos content appeals to people of all ages all over the world. If you're making tiktoks in English doing book reviews you're only appealing to a small subset of people, so if you gain an audience of a certain percentage of that subset it's small, whereas he gains a percentage of everyone who uses TikTok. It happens on TH-cam as well. If you tap into a global audience, you don't even need as big of a percentage of people you reach watching you because the total audience is billions of people instead of a few hundred thousand or even a few hundred million.
I think the Boredom Theory is correct. It's honestly everywhere, it has somewhat of an effect on older generations, but the younger you get the more it grows apparent. I played roblox a while ago and found that majority of the people that are toxic or mad about something, they're always generally doing it because they're bored, the older you are the better you get at channeling it, but it's still there fundamentally. And with the anonymity of the internet. It's only a given that it would be the perfect vent to release the pressure.

Well it's because they aren't khaby lame. The whole process of him using physical humor only happened because he spoke Italian and not english. Anyone that spoke english would have to use a different mode of humor, which are almost infinite, and it's a roll of the dice as to what people will find funny on such a massive scale. So yea, anyone could do it, but not everyone can be that successful. That's why there's not 10 khaby lames running around.
@@MattPhannyPack Nope still oversimplifying…its a combination of a LOT of unseen factors that contributed to his success that only he couldve capitalized on and fortunately for him, he seized the opportunity by staying engaged with what people wanted and with persistence. 99% of the worlds population wouldnt have even started on TikTok. Of that population, 90% wouldve quit after the first obstacle they faced. Then you have the way his face looks, his facial expression, the clips he chose, how he filmed it, the video and edit quality, the timing of his film releases…the moons literally had to be aligned with his hard work, persistence, and creativity for him to be successful and for him to achieve continual success. “How is being anti-racist political?” I’ll assume this is coming from a place of ignorance instead of being deliberately disingenuous, so I’ll attempt to answer this. When he says, “it’s not enough to be non-racist, you must be anti-racist” that is a talking point pulled directly from the DEI handbook. The inference there is that there are levels to this, and if you are just “not-racist” then you are actually still racist because you aren’t actively fighting against whatever perceived injustice the woke says exist. He also declared definitively in the same statement “in a racist society” like that isn’t up for debate. That is also directly from the leftist/woke/DEI handbook. You can’t argue against this premise, because as soon as you do, you are a racist. For these reasons, it is indeed a directly political statement. Maybe this guy doesn’t know that, but it doesn’t change the fact it is. Plus, like asmon said, nobody wants to be lectured at by a guy that opens doors

@@NotMorganFreeman. They do that with everything
There is also a lot of 'baggage' that the term anti-racist carries. A call to action is already a little preachy, but most people don't care about a call to action...
Anti-racist is a term coined by Ibram X. Kendi, who states that racism isn't just believing that a race is bad, or that some races are superior to others, but that "Racism is a marriage of racist policies and racist ideas that produces and normalizes racial inequities"
So it doesn't matter if you aren't racist, the system is racist.
You must be a white supremacist.'
EDIT: A lot of people just use the word without knowing the context, like the 'From the river to the sea' or the OK emoji.

Promoting anti-racism was his downfall. Anti-racism is not a stance against racism, it is a framework for justifying certain types of racism.
Exactly. It's a misnomer and just another type of racism. Just like "antifa" types try to claim if you oppose them then you must be advocating for fascism.

Went back to watch some old Asmon videos during his 2 week break and found this gem on never apologizing 20:01
Actual case of haters be hating.
Once he got big other Tik Tokers would on purpose make a video of them doing something obviously wrong so he would react to it & hopefully get some of his followers. It's a content for content world.
“I’m in danger” was funny
This is called the Bernie Sanders syndrome. Get enraged at the rich for being rich but completely ignore how they got there. If it was so dumb and easy, then why can't you do the same?
Opportunities rarely come around, most people dont see them when they do, are too lazy to do anything about them, did not set up the means to do anything with it when it does, and then get pissed off when other people get it done.
@@MattPhannyPack No English speaking content creator was creative enough to think outside the box and film silent shorts. Some might argue that English speaking creators had more of an advantage given the historic success of Charlie Chaplin, but simply failed to make that connection. I watched his shorts for years and only just now found out he speaks Italian so his language is irrelevant.
Bernie stopped calling out millionaires….when he became one. 😂
@@oGrasshoppero sounds like you're overcomplicating it. He got lucky. End of story. You're acting like this mf a genius and planned every step of the way lol
Khaby got over 20 million USD in the bank, why would he bother?? I assume he uploads when he want, not because he need to, so he is retired, but post sometimes
@30:00 the only old content I miss from Asmon is the transmog/transmount competitions in WoW. more so transmount for me I loved seeing a good set of armour with a great mount to match.
Everyone's getting cancelled nowadays 😑
So what's the different on comedians they doing it for stupid but they are more popular
I had a brain aneurysm reading this
@@princememphis7726same
Godzilla tried reading this but got a stroke and fucking died.
@JustinD-b8q doing a stupid or more likely sensible joke
At least Joke has meaning
@JustinD-b8q Hahaha that's not mockery to me that a question
This is the same stuff that most small creators complain about when they feel "The Algorithm hates me".
when the problem isn't the algorithm, the problem is that your content does not provide value or enough value to enough people for your piece of content provides.
those are the same people who make content that ONLY THEY want to make vs making content the people WANT to watch.
These are the same type of people who quit when something is hard vs try to work around their Obstacles.
Sadly enough those type of people are always going to be around BUT its still frustrating to see or hear. I use to be one of those "This is low effort, That's not fair, why do they have" types BUT after taking a step back from things and taking a breather. I've learned that EVERY successful thing HAS some type of reason of why it successful. It's not JUST dumb luck.
“How is being anti-racist political?”
I’ll assume this is coming from a place of ignorance instead of being deliberately disingenuous, so I’ll attempt to answer this.
Plus, like asmon said, nobody wants to be lectured at by a guy that opens doors
i was on his side, even though i had never heard of him until today, until i got to the part in the video where he started spewing that "aNti RaCiSt!" sanctimonious spiel and now i kinda hate him too tbh.
Just like the WNBA did, they decided to yell at all their fans about racism and threaten them with police intervention. Lol.
Yeah, a lot of the people who like to lecture people on "racism" tend to be racist themselves, and it is very bad manners when your a guest in someone else's country and accuse your hosts of being racist/
Hello Andy
In regards to the power fantasy, I think it's more like you have people when you first start out that want to build you up, and then at your height of popularity, you have people that want to tear you down, and the two are NOT one and the same. And you have everyone in the middle of your rise that are just along for the ride.
I think the fundamental argument that his content is "low effort" is objectively FALSE. Dude grinded SO MANY VIDEOS. Do you even know what it's like to keep on thinking of creative ideas nonstop every single day to create content? There's this thing called creative burnout.
To those people saying his content is low effort, if you think it's so easy, then try it. As someone who composes music as a hobby, I can tell you, you won't last a month.
Bruh is it really that creative to endlessly react to other peoples content?
@@quinnleppanen1768 You try doing it. Seriously. If it was so easy you try it.
@@quinnleppanen1768 You try fucking doing it dude. In an entertaining way too. 7 times a day.
@@epoch8150 I think even you could do it tbh.
I cant stand ishowspeed but i understand that tons of people do enjoy his content. Same with khaby lame.
It’s weird they target him though imo, yknow instead of attacking the type of video itself
When he's playing games, he's so good at entertaining people, but when he's outside, he's literally the worst since all he did was barking, screaming, and messing people. Worst person for kids to look up at.
3:10 - 3:14 the Audio Quality drops significantly. Did he get a new editor or what happened?
He's actually really funny.
Why people hating again? Oh yeah...reddit.
What was it he said that got everyone so upset?
''Be kind to each other''
Oh, yeah. That'll do it.
"Haters comes only from the bottom, not the top"
💯💯💯
"Why Asmondgold has suddenly become hated" don't ever think it wont happen to you. You only survive because of them.
he trends on twitter almost every month from mad people, but if you mean a serious youtube style documentary, he has a few that never took off
15:15 ah I see. get woke go broke. no body wants to be lectured by a dude who got rich off if low effort tiktoks. I like his vids too, but he really shouldn’t be lecturing people like that. It’s stupider than the people he makes fun of in his tiktoks.
That ..... Im in danger... at the start fkn cracked me up
It’s funny how people can be so pathetic, yet they don't hesitate to like a silly TikTok dance or a few seconds of some ridiculous woman's grimace.
Being a streamer IS super easy, regardless of what people tell you.
Being a GOOD streamer is one of the hardest things you can do. I sure AF can't. I just dont have that gift of gab that someone like Asmongold has.
all you need is luck you don't have to be funny or good looking (just look at otk in genernal)
Dont count on luck that's not real just grind and stay at it and I guess be catchy so the viewers can keep coming back
@@ballamoreyululbihh if it was about hard work we would have hundreds if thousands of streamers not just 100 big ones
@AAHAHHHHH if all you need is luck go become top streamer without being funny or good looking go do it become top streamer half assing with content and see if luck look out for you 🥴🤣
@@ballamoreyululbihh i believe the point he was making was even if youre the funniest person on the internet if all your videos get 0 views how will people discover your hard work?
regarding the "earned success" bit (around 8:00 - 8:30), i'd argue that a construction worker, who has worked on hundreds of projects, has a right to be upset due to the "earned success", the psychology being "i did my best, i sacrificed sleep, stamina, *insert random injury here*, and the best i could do was live in a rented house while my wife run away with *insert random mid singer or internet personality*". i dont think its a childish behaviour, i think it relays to grief, shattered self image of an individual, where your best attempts and sacrifices are overshadowed by random events
He went to one of those Diddy parties didn't he
people are always jealous when other ppl get famous, social media in a nut shell.
