The dev one was an accident. I work in indie games. There was a project I worked on that had a good bit of players, and sometimes us devs would jump in while invisible to watch the game play. But also to sus some people out. One of the main programers loaded into the game later forgetting to turn off some of his commands and won. He was so confused on why no one was fighting back till the lobby at the end. We then made an icon for devs to see when console commands were on, and to high light around our screens. Also, made ingame voice so we can hear others talk incase something like that ever happened again.

A friend of mine was rly good at the games so he often played with some of the devs and helped them out with feedback. He once told me a story about how a whole team of devs was fired after one day, when the devs played against some rly good ppl of the community, the devs kicked the players of the servers in retaliation of getting stomped by them...like how man do you have to be in order to abuse your dev power to get back at ppl that beat you in your own game :D

I remember when I was running DayZ mod server, pretty popular one. Since I was messing with Bohemia games back like 2000s I was really good at coding and knowing their engines. I've created my own admin tools and my own anti-cheat (it has no value now, so I can share all of this if someone wants). But, the point is I was on my admin cam that I could attach to the player and basically eat something and watch. I was watching some russian guys that been playing a lot, but then I switched to group of my friends that been even on my ts... and I just saw them exploiting and cheating... It was so devastating to me that I left that server, game and ts. Since I was the only one mod coder, site, forum and db admin server died. You say game is just a game, but providing all of that for the other players, working 95% of time playing 5% it my passion, my hobby and I loved doing that. I'm never going to work on any pvp game again.

To anyone who says that a lifetime ban is unreasonable, take a look at how often a competitor gets banned from competitive yugioh and then is almost immediately caught cheating. People being handed 2 year, 3 year, 5+ year bans, then hitting the scene immediately after it's lifted, only to cheat at the next nationals. I support conservative banning when called for. I just think the cheater meta over there shows the kind of dude who cheats at a game, is the kind of dude who will always try to cheat at a game.

I’m going to devils advocate here. What if the game had been glitching when the person shot him and didn’t properly do bullet spread? What if bullet drop glitched out when someone landed a headshot on him? If the game glitched against you and you had to roll with it, you should get to roll with it when the game glitched in your favor. Glitches are in the game and should make the GAME look bad, not the player using it. Glitches are as much a part of the game as the character models.

Maybe another glitch is responsible for that.

@@DustySquitoNM ? I imagine not everyone can split their eyes like a chameleon and watch every single moment. Obviously someone did see, though, hence how he got disqualified. If this is really how you want to play it, if you think it'd be unfair to be eliminated as a kill for a glitch, then he should have spoken up himself, and said, "hey, can we reset, the game's not letting me die and I don't feel as though this is a fair death". Not shush his teammate and proceed to gang up on the person who, by all rights, had killed him. It's a spit in the face, and like Asmongold said, at worst it's cheating, at best it's poor sportsmanship. And all the same, I don't even really agree with not counting it as a death. He was clearly knocked by the other player and they put his health to zero. If anything, it's even more shitty against the other player, for wasting ammo on an unkillable player.

And I agree what Asmongold said that you can compare some who really gotten better on the game from their video's for a side by side comparison. I wonder why it’s always “less than 2 weeks” or “FOREVER”
How about punishments in the middle? 1 month is a pretty long time.
3 months. 6 months. 1 year. That’s a long time to be banned from a game
And I guarantee they’d be super hesitant to cheat again if they had to wait a month, let alone a year.
But for some reason they go to “lifetime ban”
That’s like giving someone the death sentence for basically every crime.
