I also own the green Powkiddy RGB30 and I just love it. The screen size, the way it feels in my hands, the easy Pico-8 playability, awesome rom hacks and compact size - it’s my go to retro handheld. I usually have to fiddle with settings to play Mame/Arcade games on my Retroid Pocket 2S but the RGB30 plays them with no problems. After buying the RGB30, I personally can’t find another retro emulator console I want that can do better or is easier to use than this one. 💚😊
My vote is for the Trimui Smart Mini: it is _actually portable_ in a way these other consoles are not. And yes, I own one, and yes I've shown it on screen in several of my youtube videos, but I haven't bothered to offer an in depth review (there ain't much depth to go into!).
The picture is SO much more clear compared to the Gameboy! 💯
Yeah the display on this device is its best feature I think.

Was literally just playing some Pico-8 racing games when I read this.
@@LNN_Plays only thing I don’t like/havent figured out fully for Pico8 on RGB30 is if it’s possible to load your own games (or do you need to go through splore only) and if you can navigate back to RGB30 Home Screen without resetting the console
@@roquea.deleon6175 I also had trouble with that at first. To shut down Pico-8 while in a game hit the start button, then scroll down to "options", and in this menu you will see an option to shut down Pico-8. That will take you back to the RGB30 menu.
@@roquea.deleon6175 When it comes to the carts thing I think it's a bit more complicated. I downloaded a bunch of games of the Pico-8 website on my PC. I also bought the official version of Pico-8 files for 15 bucks and loaded those files onto the Pico-8 folder on my games card. Now I have a folder called carts I can use to open up games without using splore but I use splore anyway and access my carts from there. I believe Retro Games Corps YT channel shows how to do this in his RGB30 starter guide video.
@@LNN_Plays ill have to mess around with it a bit more to check it our, i have the paid version of Pico8 as well.
Until the ayaneo pocket dmg release, because 8 bit game has a lot of black background it will look gorgeous on an oled screen, but the device is going to be pricy and a bit overkill (8gen2) for retro gaming
