My vote is for the Trimui Smart Mini: it is _actually portable_ in a way these other consoles are not. And yes, I own one, and yes I've shown it on screen in several of my youtube videos, but I haven't bothered to offer an in depth review (there ain't much depth to go into!).

If I were to make a "top five ways to play Tetris in 2024" video, Pico Tetris would make the list. It remains really difficult to get a good version of Tetris: this is one of the few worth having, at any price.

I already left a comment rexommedning one game on the Pico-8, but to mention something similar on another platform: you'd love Halley Wars on the Sega Game Gear (easy to emulate on the handheld you've already got on camera here, BTW). It's also not too difficult (I get the impression you're not into the hard as nails NES / Famicom examples of the genre).

Interesting: the only title of this kind I knew on the Pico-8 has a title that starts with Cherry and ends with a word that could get this comment auto-blocked within TH-cam (Tomb with a B instead of a T). I think you'd love it.

The best game I know on this genre is an utterly forgotten title on the Nintendo DS that I should probably make a TH-cam video about myself. SNES Arkanoid has a really great "surface", with surprisingly good graphics, but I can't say anything positive about the gameplay, sadly.

I found an amazing a Google Drive file of 5,211 Pico 8 games & I put them all on my Anbernic device last night & am starting the long grueling quest of scraping each one for boxart & then sorting/playing through them One @ a time until I find the best of the best for me! I'll let you know which ones I'd recommend too ya! I kinda feel like I should make a video after sorting through Neary 6,000 Pico 8 games!😂

Im going out on a ledge & saying this now the Pico8 is my new favorite (console?) Dunno i think it's because the games are made by gamers who love good games vs. a huge studio sweatshop atmosphere filled with angry sleep deprived,depressed & overworked kids forced to pump out games 2 meet a certain deadline finished or not!Anyways enough rambling!😂I accidentally wiped my sd card of all installed roms on my only anbernic device when I 1st got it trying 2 add a new operatingsystem when I had no knowledge of how 2 properly do so & have slowly rebuilt my rom collection since & now backed them up 2 an😢 external hard drive. But needless 2 say I couldn't re-download my Pico8 games & can't find them anywhere! 😢

I Gotta figure out a site 2 grab some carts from 4 my Anbernic console!! I've been working on learning the basic coding concepts 2 try & give making a cart a try😂 it can't be as terrible as some I've tried. I just think it's amazing that they allow anyone 2 do this in the gaming community! Yea I loved the Tbg16 for the shoot em ups if u haven't tried Air Zonk on it's Bonk but it's a 2d shoot em up & Cotten is amazing too for the Neogeo portable!

I love how I can play a game in my backlit GBA when I'm out and about, when I get home I pop it in my GameCube Gameboy player and keep playing, on my TV.

God i love arkanoid, growing up my friend's dad had a few arcade games and the original arkanoid cabinet was one of them. I played it so much, love arkanoid it is my favorite ever brick breaker.

I like the look of the GBA game more for whatever reason. The UI is a little bit better, less huge and blocky. The font fits more snugly. I should check out the music restoration patch.

The fan translation of Rhythm Tengoku, Rhythm Heaven Silver, is done very well and is absolutely worth checking out

Two games I played more than others were Batty for the Spectrum and Wizkid for the Amiga. Batty was an Arkanoid clone type game, but it was loved more than Arkanoid on the Spectrum, even though it was especially fast and sadistically designed. Wizkid was just a unique game overall.

just like with ace attorney! first, it came out for the gba in 2001, and got a ds remake (alongside with a new episode (rise from the ashes)) in like, 2005, or 2006!
