    Based on those block sizes, is the pillar perimeter 20 by 20?

    Can you build a column with a planter built into the top?

    Question - does the crushed rock and (variable-sized) washed sand come in bags? Assuming not, since the HD and Lowe's folk look at me like I'm from outer space lol. They show me "pea gravel" and landscape or play sand. Do I need to check with my local nursery/landscaping co. and do I ask for "crushed rock" and "washed sand"? Thanks for the fantastic content and all the great tips! Got the stones - can't wait to start, using this as a tutorial!

      all regions are different on how they sell materials... it is most affordable to buy in bulk, but you may end up with more material then needed. the crushed rock you are looking for is called 3/4 minus, which includes the fines, and is also referred to as ASTM 2940. good luck on your project and thanks for checking the vid out! Cheers!!

    What blocks are these and what color? Where do you get them? What size / dimension do you end up with when you use 4 blocks, I’m thinking of going wider.

    • @WorkshopatTheGardens
      @WorkshopatTheGardens  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The blocks used were produced by Borget in St. Joseph, Minnesota. The color blend was MN River and most landscape supply centers will carry them. The blocks are 4"x8"x12" and can be used in any direction accommodating your desired wider build. Almost all block manufactures will have a similar dimensional block so check out your local landscape center or big box store. Good luck with your project! Cheers!!

    Question, can we paint the bricks a different color?

    • @WorkshopatTheGardens
      @WorkshopatTheGardens  ปีที่แล้ว

      sure.. I don't know why you couldn't. just talk to your local paint supplier and get a paint created for that application... you may also want to wait a little bit after installing for moisture in the block to stabilize... thanks for the question! Cheers!
