Yes thanks, this video has been a great help. My short test flight from Edinburgh to Glasgow was a success after I realised that I need to manually select a ILS approach in the flight planner screen, previously I’d been using the auto approach setting and wondering why it wasn’t navigating correctly.
@@sneeks brilliant news! We do have a guide for flight planning on the channel if you need it. But it sounds like you’ve got things worked out now. Well done getting the plane down, it’s harder than it looks!
This is genuinely such a good tutorial I couldn’t really understand other ones but this one was very detailed and explained throughly just enough for starters I had a really smooth landing and approach and was so satisfying
I was trying to figure out to fly the A320, and this guide was by far the best one that touches the most crucial parts in able to fly. Great tutorial mate!
Another tip, make sure your throttles are lined up with the climb detent. It is the first little arrow on the throttle labelled either CL or CLB. When you see the LVR CLB message flashing on the display screen, move it to that position. Despite it's name, the position will mange the throttle for the entire flight, including descent and approach. Then you just pull back to idle to land
I had a successful flight from San Antonio to New York. Landed safely at LaGuardia, made my way to the gate, connected the jetway and killed power to the aircraft. Your landing tips worked perfectly! Thank you!
I learned more about landing via ILS than pretty much every other video I've watched. I took off from RJAA -> RJCC landed perfectly, took a few attempts.
Just watched the three A320 tutorials and it really helps a lot. From Vancouver to Seattle with a smooth landing finish! Best tutorial and easy to understand. It's my first time playing it on a cold start as well. I'll be watching the startup for a while until i memorized all the switches. Thanks for this bro!
I'm 2yrs late on this vid but is the best explanation for us that ain't at that hardcore sim level. Very easy to understand and I'm absolutely grateful for what u do
Mate, your videos are - in my humble opinion - the best on TH-cam. Explained at every step, shown exactly what to do and what to look out for (other videos I found too complicated or, skipping information). I just successfully imputed my ILS flight plan from LFPG, Paris to EGLI, London at nightime (live weather/time and I was up late). Followed your other cracking video that got me up and in the air and this one got me down safely, back in good 'ole Blighty. From a happy Birkenhead lad, thanks very much 👍😊👍 🇬🇧
@@FishStakes One question, mate: I watched a pilot trainee video for ILS A320 landing (linked below) and after he pressed the LS button, he then pressed LOC and APPR before the diamonds had intersected on the heading/altitude. Is that possible in MSFS? Would it still work? Ta 👍 th-cam.com/video/LIaMALJjOEc/w-d-xo.html
This was yet another amazing explanation, agreed that ATC doesn't give you enough time to land or when you see your close and want to start descending, they tell you to maintain your flight level lol!
agree. FlyJV (youtube) has a great video where you can catch a bunch of tips. He is an Airbus 1st officer. One tip he gave was to figure out the top of the descent, multiply your altitude by 3 and add 12-that is the number of miles from the airport to start a 3 degree descent.
Finished my flight from Munich to London on EasyJet thx for the helpful tutorials my buggy internet was annoying but still managed to land the bird safely thx again
I firstly always landed and approached manually, then switched to the 747. I watched the 747 ils video and didn’t really manage to get the descent right. This video has helped me find out when to descent and how to perfectly land. Thx for the video
I used ils when I landed in Munich. It was my first time using ils and the Munich visibility was extremely low. I thought the ils was going to smack me right into the ground, but it glided down perfectly and I landed the best I have in msfs 2020. Thanks Fishstakes!
Would you happen to know why my ILS “magenta diamonds” won’t appear? Every time I turn on the LS system button when I’m flying towards the runway the magenta diamonds never appear even up until the point to where I know that the runway is right in front of me… Would you happen to know why?
Just landed my first flight and it was soft but my autopilot broke at like 2000 ft so I took over thanks man wouldn’t have been able to do it without your vids
Man, you're a great instructor. thank you for doing that. I'm going to try my first ILS landing today after I get out of work. Wish me a good landing. 🙂
Thanks to your amazing tutorial, I have just made my first perfect landing and bang on the centre line. You made that so easy. Your a star and I am well chuffed !!
This was amazing! Worked first time for a different route, will take a while to get the controls down to memory but for now I'll be using these videos for every flight :) Its so hard as a beginner and overwhelming with all the controls especially on xbox but you've made it so easy to do a complete flight, so thank you!

It's broken at the moment, the vertical diamond doesn't make its way down . I enjoy flying in the dark in a thunderstorm but it's now a no go in this plane. Same with the lvfr Airbuses. I got in touch with lvfr and they acknowledged theirs are broken but said it's at the Microsoft end. I take back my words, just discovered that the ils landing was not inputted into the mcdu. Inputted the ils into it and it worked perfect, gonna try it on the lvfr 319 and see if it works
@@Planes_Games Hi mate. Make sure you've picked a ils landing in the world map planner. In the plane, press on fpl page on the mcdu, then press on the 6left button which is next to the destination airport waypoint. From there select the ils landing you chose in the world map. This will automatically set the ils frequency and course. Hope this helps
My first ever a320 flight today , I used your tutorials for flight plan, start up and taxi and take off but then was like I'm grand I can land this bad boy well auto pilot can, didn't realize I had to set the altitude for the waypoints and set my flaps and my speed so when I got to my destination my plane was still at cruising altitude going 300 knots circling the runway while someone shouted overspeed at me repeatedly!

Agree on all comments that your stuff is really enjoyable and useful. I'm normally lost within 5 mins on these tutorials but yours are bang on - clear, logical and interesting. Bit of a cheeky question regarding AP...can you do managed altitude on Xbox? doesn't seem to work
Don't stop before crossing the hold short line. You were still active on the runway, so no one else could legally land. Don't cross the solid bar, but you should cross the broken bars if they are on your side of the line (broken=on runway get off, solid=entering runway so hold short until cleared for takeoff is given and hold short). Great tutorial otherwise. I'm working on my private pilot, and haven't flown big jets much in sim or practiced much in terms of ILS or instrument-wise.
Thanks for the video! I completed my first ever full flight thanks to you. MSFS glitched when I reached one of the waypoints and the nose of the plane shot upwards for no reason - kinda like the 737MAX lol 😂. But other than that, it was the smoothest flight ever! Thanks again.

This was fantastic. My only minor concern is that the fast-forwarding sound is obnoxiously loud.
I do know how to take off but I don't know how to land i watch this video now thank you for posting this on TH-cam
Heck I’m still learning to keep the plane from pitching up or down during cruise. Even with flaps and trim, it still wants to pitch up
Any way you could post a checklist for the steps you executed, Flap settings/ Speeds, etc?
Thanks for these tutorials that described the steps in a straight forward and simple way. Much appreciated!
Wow your videos are outstanding 😍 youve helped me so much trying to land and take off an aircraft, I don't think I've quite mastered all the buttons that you mentioned in the video but you are the GOAT OF Microsoft flight simulator
Thanks!
