Conway Twitty the country Tom Jones. His duets with Loretta Lynn transcend legendary to mythical. Check out Louisiana Woman Mississippi Man. You won't regret it
My late brother and I used to sing that to each other at the top of our lungs while we walked up the creek at our grandparents' house, my favorite memory.
One of his grandsons was singing this song in school. The teacher asked what he was singing and he said a Conway Tweety song, that's how a 5 year old says Twitty. He said Conway was his grandfather and the teacher didn't believe him, so she called his mom and told her what happened. She said the same thing and once again the teacher didn't believe her. Conway happened to be in town that week and took his grandson to school, and asked his grandson where his teacher was. He pointed at her and Conway walked over and said "hello darlin" and after that his grandson could sing whatever he wanted to.
It pulled at my heart when I lost my dad. The first time I heard this song was when we were fishing in a small Lund boat together. I looked at him and just listened to the song. Now, I always get that memory when I hear this song.
Saw Conway Twitty four times once with Loretta Lynn, each time after the show he met with fans, shook his hand and got autograph each time. Great reaction.
He was almost cancelled in the 70s with the song You've Never Been This Far Before a lot of country stations refused to play it. This man in my opinion is the GOAT of country music. His drummer use to introduce him as the Best Friend a Song Ever Had.
Conway Twitty started his career as a Rock and Roll singer. I grew up listening to his music. Linda on my mind and tight fittin'jeans and many many more.
You're friendly drummer here again, the tempo didn't change, it was a key change which a lot of artist do but typically they change and go up a key but instead he goes down a key which is what makes it so unique!
Coming from a musical background of singing mainly old hymns in church, I am very familiar with key changes in-between verses. I'd never thought about it, but you're right! I can't think of many (if any) examples of downward key changes with the exception of Bass singers and that's just so we can show off our low range!
Conway Twitty is literally one of the absolute greatest voices to ever grace country music!!! What a legend!!! He is most definitely my all time favorite old school (classic) country singer.
I remember when he passed away. I was at a friends house for the night and when we woke up in the morning her mom was playing Conway’s music and crying. We had no clue what was going on until her dad told us then the whole house was crying.
He is talking about the forever love my parents had. My sweet daddy passed away last June at the age of 85. He passed away on my parents 61st anniversary. They were totally committed to each other. This is what Conway is singing about 😊😊
I listened to this as a child and loved "The Twitty Bird" ( he had one painted on his bus) but then I learned later in life that this man was a straight PIMP... he was rocking with all the ladies...LOL... things you don't realize as a kid, for real!!
I said I never heard of Conway twitty till this song and I was like he was dooogggg and my grandpa started laughing so hard my grandma had to give him a little slap😂😂 it was a great moment😂 thanks for making this memory happen😂😂🤦🏻♂️
Grew up listening to this era of Country music. Conway was the hearthrob to the moms! My mother played Conway and Charley Pride on heavy rotation on her stereo. His "signature" song was Hello Darlin'. He also did many duets with legendary artist Loretta Lynn such as Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man and Lead Me On.
🇬🇧 Love Conway Twitty. His voice is devine. My mum introduced me to Conway at about 8 years old. We had the single for "Its Only Make Believe". I loved it then, & i love it now. Would LOVE for you to react to that one. It was his first hit. 🎼🎶🎙️
That kind of love does still exist. My husband and I were married at 17 & 19, and 45 years later we still would rather spend our free time together (except for when he goes fishing).
Oh man. The Conway in yellow looked so much like my dad. His look til the day he died was Conways clothes and Johnny Cash's hair. Add in that he played them all the time and I got nostalgic. This made me miss him all over again.
Conway was always in his bag with the words. Thanks to my step mom for playing it on our 9hr ride on family vacations as kids and all the way home too😂 He was even mentioned in her obituary. Rip Lisa
My parents really liked Conway. Mom always laughed at the "curlers in your hair". When Dad played this, he'd grab Mom and dance in the living room. Also, did you notice the chorus change at the end? It went from "all the things A woman loves to hear" to " all the things MY woman loves to hear". You should listen to Charlie Pride and Charlie Rich, too.
BP I was 8 months pregnant with my 3rd daughter when Conway died on the operating table 😢😢 it came over the radio and I cried and cried. There's so many great songs you will love by Conway but That's My Job is going to get you 😢😢 love ya and R.I.P Conway Twitty 😢😢😢
I’ve always taken this song as he’s speaking to his wife, telling her how in love he is. She is the most beautiful thing to him in just her normal everyday stuff. When she’s in her moomoo with curlers in her hair not even trying to be cute, he finds her irresistible. So sweet. ❤
Legend. Not only one of the very best silky-smooth country crooners to ever hit the charts, but also a stone cold panty dropper. In other comments sections I have referred to him as "the Teddy Pendergrass or Luther Vandross of country." When his songs came on the radio, housewives with their hair in curlers would swoon at the ironing board. He was a KILLA. And yes, this particular song is about the lasting love of a solid marriage, and how he will always want to get busy with his wife for the rest of his life, even long past his ability to even get busy anymore. Now that's love. LOL
Other great songs from Conway are: It's Only Make Believe (1959), Lonely Blue Boy (1960), The Rose (1970), After The Fire Is Gone (1971), Fifteen Years Ago (1970), Happy Birthday Darling (1979) and so many, many more songs of his. BP, you can't ever go wrong with a Twitty song.
Both my mother and grandmother loved some Conway, grew up listening to his music. Tight Fitten Jeans, Hello Darlin, and like others have said the duets with Loretta such great music
Conway was a pop/rock singer before he turned country. At one time he had the most number one songs in country history. He has a ton of fantastic music. He is a true OG .
One of his last if not the last song he released was Who Did They Think He Was. Not many people know it or remember it but it's a very poignant and powerful song about Elvis. JFK and Jesus. Very good song. I've loved Conway since the 70's. An amazing singer and he didn't just sing songs, he made us part of his songs.
I always took this song as a ROMANTIC song to HIS lady....not just A lady.... :) LOVE CONWAY!!! SO MANY great songs!! Thanks for reacting to this one, BP - HUGS!!
Your reactions are so genuine. I'm not a rap fan but watch your reactions daily. You would appriciate this one as it talks about getting older and the start of Rap. This group is an old folk group from way back in the 60's. You have probably heard many of their songs but didn't know who they were. PETER PAUL & MARY - OLD ENOUGH
Country's naughtiest sounding legend! You'll never be disappointed by any of Conway's work. A difficult thing to do while singing -- changing keys -- and he changes keys twice, and nails it three times.
I had the honor of attending so many Conway Twitty concerts with my Mama ( She was so in love with this man), His voice, his stage presence is like no other. Do yourself a favor sometime and listen to "Hello Darlin", still makes me cry because it reminds me of my Mama listening to it. Sometimes I just listen to it to feel close to her and have a good cry. Keep up the awesome videos, addicted to this channel!
There are Lots of ol country legends, but Conway is my favorite from any era! He started out in rock parallel to Elvis, but soon switched, for the better. He has the only number one song without a chorus. The Rose. Over 40 number one hits. Straight up legend! Don Williams and Gearge Straight are right behind him in my ears. P.S. Thanks to my momma, I had his last 8-track tape as a rock singer in all of his black leather on the cover.
He has many great songs, kinds of what they call a crooner maybe? "Hello Darlin'", "Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man" duet w/ Loretta Lynn, "Tight Fittin' Jeans", "Slow Hand", "Don't Call Him a Cowboy" are just some of my faves.
My husband and I are so cheesy we went to the Conway Twitty show in Pigeon Forge and we had the vast time. Listens this is old country Loving.....let’s do it the long haul

This is a beautiful love song. The 2 sexiest voices in Country Music are Marty Robbins and Conway Twitty! Conway sang to the Ladies & we still miss & love him. He wrote a lot of great songs. My favorite is "You've never been this far before." Conway had 55 #1 hits. He would of had more, but passed away at 59. Any song of his you will love. In Country music Conway is known as "The best friend a song ever had!" He knew a hit when he wrote or heard it. You also need to listen to the duets Conway did with Loretta Lynn. My favorite " Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man." I'm sure many have given you a list of songs to listen to. So l'm not going to. Just know, Conway sang to the ladies. He's the only one in Country Music that could get away with it. Once you listen to more of him, you will understand this statement. Conway is the man Anything by him is worth listening to, including his duets with Loretta. Lynn. He is second only to George strait in having number one country hits. Hello darling, goodbye time, Don't take it away, tight fitting jeans, it's only make believe. Conway Twitty is a legend. He has the second most number one hits in country music history after George Strait. You should take a deep dive into his music catalog. It's terrific!
Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn duets are awesome too
Your the reason our kids are ugly is epic
He should listen to you're the reason our kids are ugly lol
His voice is legendary, but Hello Darlin shows it off the best
I used to torture my ex singing it around the house all the time
Audio.
Agreed. The entry to that song is the thing that got me hooked on him. He was smooth as silk.
I always thought "How much more can she stand" was his best vocal performance. Either way, Conway is the best friend a song ever had.
Oh, you're not kidding!!!! That's his best song

If Kitty Wells had married Conway her name would be Kitty Twitty.
I was just coming here to request that he does this one. It's so funny.
Conway was a master at talking dirty without talking dirty.
Exactly! Great summary of him!
And he did it so damn well
Tight fitting Jeans is a great one! 🎉
