    If Rogue reads through these comments I want them to know that the owner of vendetta strength actually mentioned that he would love for Rogue to assist with production of the Vendetta brackets/ adjustment system for lever arms so that he could come out with more products. It might turn out to be financially advantageous for both companies. So please put the word out GGR because it would only mean more awesome products for the home gym community :-)

      The lever arms need to have the vendetta attachment integrated in, and the kaz attachement that allows lateral movement. I think they would appeal a lot more to me then.

      @@Clownlife432 completely agree. They take a good product and make them great. The ability to target muscle areas and personize the lever arms to each individual makes the product that much more desirable. This way everyone wins, especially when these genius inventions meet up with Rogue quality and production power. I know the guy that owns Vendetta is working over 70 hours a week right now trying to fulfill his job and startup business. Not to mention having a wife and newborn. I couldn’t do it lol. Don’t know how he does. I’m sure that’s part of the reason why he doesn’t mind outsourcing some. So much attention and detail goes into everything.

    I have this attachment. I love it. It is too heavy though, some people will struggle to put it up and attach a pin through it. It might be less useful to some for that reason, or folks dont want to mess with it, or someone might need help to put it up if they are not as strong (45 pounds, unwieldy and need to align a pin could be tricky for some) They could have used 11gauge steel, and shaved off some weight. BUT once set up it is amazing. I didnt think I would use the angles, but I do, and its helping some triceps issues I had. Angles are gold! knurling is perfect. handles are perfect. Its not that much more than other dip attachments, and the options are worth it, for a lifetime of dip variations. worth it. Also, I had a friend drill out the storage post, and bolted to my lat pulldown, so the dip attachment stores out of the way. I have currently been using this attachment three times a week, because I like it so much.

  • @alexandermericle7005
    @alexandermericle7005 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Coop, not sure if you actually tried it on your rig. But I noticed it was off-center in the videos when attached (as it is on mine, I thought possibly mine was just a fluke). When the Velocidor is setup on the rig, the bottom pin hole isn't centered with the rig holes so a second Hitch-pin won't fit through. (I have the Rogue Monster Velocidor and the PR5000 so everything is the 1inch). Also, while the 12 inch wall attachment was nice, it only has holes on the upper section, so if wall mounted, your stuck with having to unpin and remount solo.
    I ended up drilling additional holes to match up with the bottom on the 12inch strip, so I could utilize both pins, to make "storing it" easier. However, because the strip is only 12 inches, the Velocidor ends up swinging down into the wall. I ended up mounting a small piece of wood directly underneath to circumvent this. I think as overbuilt as this whole product is, if they're going to go out of their way to include a wall strip, it should've been a 14 inch strip, with holes that line up to both pin holes on the Velocidor. That allows you to wall mount it, utilize 2 pins, and have it be able to store down without needing to do the "Hold, pull the pin, lift it higher, re-pin bottom, then lower to stored position.
    Long timer viewer, first time commenter. Awesome Review Coop.

    A possible solution to the button issue mentioned at the 15:37 mark would be for rogue to create a washer that has a button hole in it so it goes flat once inserted. They may need to make the insert pin a little longer so you can use the thread locker to tighten it in place.

  • @markhalstead2386

    I like Rep Fitness’ Drop-in Dip Handles, but think storage would be an issue. The Rogue Velocidor could be stored on the wall using the 3”x3” section they include. Storing on my rack is not an option with Ares and weight storage on the rack.

    What I didn't like about the MM UDA and Rogue's V... offering was that rogue filed a patent and tried making the intellectual property theirs. In that patent it encompassed the whole MM design with the addition of angle adjustment. You can't patent something that exists it has to be novel. The patent wasn't specific to the adjustable angle of grips it effectively would have patented the whole design much of which was MM's. This might still be the case too if they continue with their patent plans.
    Reminds me of who invented the telephone history and even the patent suggests Alexander Graham-Bell did but in reality Antonio Meucci and Philipp Reis each created a telephone like devices before Bell's patent was filed. The US House of Representatives viewed Antonio Meucci's invention so similar that it would have been enough to have prevented Bell's patent.
    The angle adjustment aspect is patentable for Rogue but the width adjustment is not. I am not a patent attorney but I did well in IP law in law school.

    Great review. Think a collab between Rogue and Mutant Metals would be a great outcome given the similarities between the products. Love that you touched on the additional Monster channel. This with the rogue jammer pull up bar makes it possible for those with smaller spaces (without racks) to do dips and pull ups by attaching to studs instead of relying on hydrid dip bars/ pull ups bars which you've reviewed in the past! Would love a review on the Jammer pull up bar x Velocidor combo compared to some of the dip bars and pull up bars combos you've reviewed previously

    Splitting the difference and having the Mutant Metals design but with the button pin that allows for multiple angles would be my ideal. Seeing the pictures of it at the end of the video got me instantly more excited to look into that (or see what a possible collab brings out) than the entire 20 minute video on the Velocidor, even though that looks nice too.
    I’m one of those gym owners that doesn’t want a workout just moving attachments around my cramped garage and then placing onto the upright. It’s the greatest friction that gets in the way of whether or not an attachment gets used or not- do I want to go through the hassle / exertion to move this thing around in space and place onto my upright or would I rather just do an alternative exercise and skip it? 90% of the time it’s the latter.

    Definitely agree on the weight thing. I'm all for good build quality, but when I'm wrestling something overhead, while trying to get linch pins to go through 4 holes without being crooked, I'd much rather have that thing weigh 20 pounds than 45 pounds. Lots of homegym people don't have a crew of meatheads around when it comes time to hook up rack attachments.

    I realize that Rogue has built there business around powder coating steel, but to reduce weight they should make the body of this out of aluminum. Aluminum can be powder coated, and they should use gloss black as Coop mentioned. Throw in some MM stainless style handles and upgrade to a magnetic pin and they would have the ultimate solution.

    They should have used this concept with individual dip handles that attach to each upright. All of the controversy would have been avoided, would not cannibalize matador sales, and would provide a truly unique option. The Y style dip attachments tend to make the whole rack shake while using them. The individual dip handles don't have that problem because the load is distributed evenly between the uprights. I have a version of these made by Black Widow and they are fantastic. But I would certainly consider an adjustable option if it was available.

    👍 That looks awesome! I don't have a Rogue rack, I have a ForceUSA rack but dip bars for racks have always been terrible in terms of width for the most part. I think a premium adjustable dip bar (& pullup useability) like that is the #1 best & most useful attachment anyone could buy, for the vast majority of people... I wish I could get one for my rack, I'd spend any amount of money for one . . .

      👍 As a quick follow-up to my last comment, I contacted Mutant Metals & they responded with a "can do" -- They said not a problem to make the plastic protective insert thicker to exact specification of my 2.4" x 2.4" uprights on the ForceUSA rack, so I'm going to go ahead and order from them, in case anyone else has the same concerns (Mutant metals works on all 3" x 3", 2" x 2", 3" x 2" & my 2.4" x 2.4") and they offer it with 1" or 5/8" pin diameter . . .

    I have had mine for a month or so and love it. Is it weird that i like feeling the knurled handles??? I will say the second hole on the bottom does not fit a Rep PR5000 Rack which forces you to awkwardly stabilize this beast for a moment. It would be great if they did what Rep did with the Utility Seat to account for different hole spacing. And when taking it down from doing pullups the first time i almost knocked myself in the head. I strongly suspect the Monster channel that comes with the Velocidor is purely for storage purposes and not for actually doing dips on the wall. The channel is fairly short and those mounting holes on the channel are fairly small and close together. Even though 2x4 studs are strong and lag bolting this to the wall will be sturdy, it wouldn't be beefy enough to sustain frequent use.

      @@hitleractually8180 Does it matter "why?" Yes, because intention is an important element here. Rogue initially did what it did because it thought that it was on top of a mountain and did not foresee any backlash. One of the best things about social media is that it can enhance accountability, and one of the great things about the home gym community is that many of its members actually have morals and honor innovation with respect to the first mover. Rogue intended to pass the Velocidor off as its own innovation with zero regard for Mutant Metals, and even filed a patent for it. The company did not acknowledge the original product UNTIL the public called it out, and even tried to defend its position. The "why" matters because of the "when." Of course, Rogue can learn from this if it chooses to do business ethically, but that remains to be seen in an increasingly competitive market. It certainly deserves credit for ultimately acknowledging the criticism and doing the right thing, but forgetting the events that led to this is exactly what it wants us to do. This isn't about submission; its possible for consumers to forgive without forgetting

    Hey coop, do you think the velocidor could be mounted to a rep 5000 ares on the front upright with the pulley that feeds in to the trolley running through the velocidor?
    I’m trying to mount a velocidor permanently on each side for weighted pull up and dips. Ares looks to be the most compact option thats heavy other than the powerlift multi function pulley.

    Rogue could have just put the locating pin protrusions on the base and accepting holes on the handles, and then you would be able to use the handles on anything 😮

  • @Prey4eyes
    @Prey4eyes ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Body solid makes drop in handles for like $50 that works on Monster Lite since their new racks model rogue. Y style handles are too unsteady and you need rack to be bolted or weighted down.

    It is expensive, but not that much more than Rogue's regular Mantador. I think the weight of the unit is more annoying - I wonder what the base weighs without the handles installed? I assume that is how most people will end up moving it if the weight on the unit bugs them...

    I bought one of these, and one of the handles will not even fit in the body because the dowel pin piece diameter is too large. I have notified Rogue and included pictures and caliper measurements, and they are giving me the run around. I spent $325 + shipping for them to send me a defective product and bust my balls when I contact customer service. It's the last time I'll deal with Rogue. Rep and other competitors are kicking their butt lately.
