I love Simon as well Esme! I'm a dog lover, and yes I take my dogs camping with me. Thank you for sharing. Awesome, video. You have great camping gears.
Thanks Kalima, Simon is a very special dog and we love him very much. I also love anyone that's loves dogs! lol 🐶❤️ Hope you have fun with your pups and camping this year!
Great video I enjoyed it. There's nothing better than getting the kit out in your back garden and trying it out and planning the next adventure. I would get all my stoves out and be making coffee and frying steak. 🐾🍺🍷🐾 Cheers 👍
I’ve used mine about ten times in all weather(besides snow). Been absolutely flawless. I just find the pole has to be at around 125cm to keep the sides tight. Took me a while to find this out
I absolutely love your vids.!! your product reviews fit me perfect & I love the way esmee is like family. thx for sharing all the adventures & teaching. is simon a new addition to the trips?
Thanks for the very kind comment BushcraftOHIO! We adpoted Simon about 4 years ago but he has some medical issues and can't walk very far. In the summer he comes camping with me but its more static camping, so he can run around close by 😊
Exciting when there's new gear to sort and prove. I'm trying to sort out between a Blackbird XLC or the Dutchware Chameleon for my next hammock. LOL... I haven't even hung my new ENO Double nest yet.
Yup - It is! Hmmm that's a tough choice! I went for the Eldorado as its lighter than the XLC and I didn't care for the shelves, also Ill be picking up the 0f wookie under quilt, as I like the way it hooks up. The Chameleon gets very good reviews also. The ENO Doublenest reminds me of the Slacker double - Very comfortable hammock!
My tent is a carport with a buck stove inside then use another one for our kitchen sleeps four big boys then our clothes don’t smell bc the kitchen is not where we sleep and keep our clothes from smelling
To bad you don’t live closer to ontario. I bring my friends items quite often to save them shipping lol. Planning my late summer camping trip to Wawa, ontario (top of Lake Superior.) Waiting till after mosquito season so I don’t get carries off. Lol
Great video, you always do a good job on the reviews of the equipment. Which do you like better your hammock or your camp rite cot? I like the looks of the cot but would like it in a double for the extra room
Thanks Mark! It really depends on what I'm doing. The hammock is great for backpacking and fun to sleep in - The tent cot is very comfortable but much less portable (unless you carry it like me on a UTV). The tent cot is probably the most practical for most of the camping I do - but I like the variety to try new things and share them with you all 👍
The ENO Vulcan is ok for temps above 0c/32f. Good quality and adjusts easily. The Warbonnet Wooki -17c/0f is amazing if you have the matching Warbonnet hammock.
Sadly here in the Vancouver area there is talk about not permitting hammocks in provincial parks as the claim is being made that they damage trees. Yet another bunch of misinformed people making judgment calls for everyone else. I hope the ruling never sees the light of day!
Sigh - They won't be happy until we are kept fat at home watching TV. Last time I checked, Canada has about a billion or so trees. Tree straps leave no damage on the trees - Who thinks these rules up?! 😐
Why don't you take your tarp and go diamond shape with it? You don't like that layout? Looks like it would cover it fine. If I remember correctly, the Pythagorean would put it at 4.24 meters corner to corner. Square root of 18?
I thought the same thing - the diagonal would be just over 14' and that would be too long and would interfere with the suspension. I could shorten the tarp - but Ill be ordering a Superfly from Warbonnet next week, after I play some more with the hammock to make sure it will work the way I want. Great idea though! 👍👍👍
I emailed the guy a few months ago to see if we could do some collaboration and promote his business and youtube channel, as I'm a big supporter of Canada made products and small business in general. Unfortunately, he never responded. 😔 I subscribe to his channel and really like his products too!
Nice tent, a shame all hikers who like to sleep in tents are all under six foot tall. Us tall ones will just stand while sleeping! Its a shame, tents for kids, dogs, cats and adults under 6' ONLY.
Hi Stephen - Some of the Chinese tents are ridiculously small and it maybe down to average heights of people in that country? - Just speculating. North Americans and Europeans tent to be much taller and sometime....wider. Dutch people are even tall for general Europeans. At 5' 9" I'm not tall but I sometimes struggle too. US made gear tends to be more accommodating.
@@TheEmporiumOutdoors I have a 7×4' cheap Canadian tire tent but my Hope hogs the bottom right side and I'm shorter on my left leg. I'm going to look into a trailer for trial soon. A 4×8 should be big enough for Hope who's only 18 lbs.. Us Scottish need minimum of 7' long for my 6'4" size, 5'4" on the left side. My cousin is Vango in Glasgow but even with my family discount it's a £50 quid tent plus shipping here on Vancouver Island. Free if I pick it up in person though lol. Cheap Scottish bastard lol.

I haven't used mine yet! 🤨 Summer hiking trip this year for sure!
Nice video Michael. Looks like some good stuff.
Thanks John - Looking forward to testing in the wild!
Nice new gear. I look forward to your video on the hammock when camping.
Yup - Should be very soon I hope!
Always good to see new gear you can use :-) Hope your all good Michael :-)
Thanks Russ!
You sure have your share of stuff. Very interesting to watch. Thanks for all of your videos.
I said to him about a year ago that he had all the gear in the world , and he said, "Yes, it's getting to be a problem."LOL
I'm considering "outdoor gear anonymous" - I do however sell some stuff once I've finished playing with it. I just have a weakness for backpacks! 😄
@@TheEmporiumOutdoors , just backpacks??!!! Nah.

I know 😄 We get a break for 6 months and then more snow!
It' s a veri good hammock! :- )
I'm liking it so far!
Thanks for sharing
Thanks Michael! 👍
I knew it! One dog is great ... but two are better! Simon doesn’t like camping, Michael?
He does enjoy the outdoors during the summer but he's older and has a bad knee that limits his activities. You will see him in future videos 🐶🐶
How did you like the Eno under quilt?

Hi Micheal do you not bring Simon camping with you? I still think Esme still the best camp buddy.???
Hi Patrick - I do during the summer but he's not very mobile due to medical issues - So its juts a more relaxing style of camping for Simon 😊

USD 1 =1.35 CAD
Look up littleshopofhammocks in Saskatoon. Very good quality, made in Canada.
