I can rest on the ground. I actually sleep and recover in a hammock. Plus, I found the fiddle factor with having to find a flat spot, with adequate drainage and no sharp objects with a tent to be a nuisance. That and having to deal with a wet tent in the morning versus the ease of stuffing a tarp in a sack or snake skins makes hammocks more attractive. Whenever I know I won't have a place to hang, I know I'm going to be spending a night of flipping to a different side every 15-20 minutes until I get up.
Nice job on getting outside and enjoying some coffee and bannock. Simple new name for the channel. Thanks for sharing Craig and we’ll catch ya on the next adventure. ATB Mike
Never used a hammock. I should probably restart my research. That thing looks wicked easy to set up which is welcomed after a long day. Thanks for the review. I will check it out.
Thanks my friend ! Yes, I tried walking away from hammocks, I just can’t ! Sleep is important, I simply sleep way, better ! I will still use tents & tarps on occasion, I like having options ! I’d be more than happy to help you with anything, just let me know ! Cheers
Nice set up. Looking forward to your next video using it. That pancake looked pretty good too....lol You always eat like a King out there. Enjoy and be safe out there>
Just came across this video. I too have an Eldorado along with a DW Chameleon. I use a HG 20 degree 3/4 UQ. On the Chameleon it works great because Dutch puts little hooks on the side your quilt suspension clips into. I saw another TH-camr sew hooks on his Blackbird for the same purpose. (Talk about beating around the bush). I have always been curious about the Wookie for the Eldo. I sleep head right feet left so it would be “custom” according to WB website. I really like the Eldorado. I got a double end stuff sack, and leave the original hung inside, with a HG ridge line organizer. WB tarps are the best too, in my opinion Love those guys at WB. And yeah, hammocking is kind of fiddly , said a wise man more than once. (Shug). Cheers from Chicago!
Right on ! My favorite hammock for sure, the WB Eldorado ! I have a hammock gear circadian, that I will be using next week up in northern Maine for a week. I ended up getting a 0 degree Wookie, super nice, no fiddling at all. Thanks a bunch for stopping by man ! Best of luck to you man !
I primarily hammock camp and the sleep is much better for me. Definitely more of a fiddle factor with tree spacing and underquilts though. I have been mixing it up this Fall and Winter with a hot tent but using a cot instead of a mat on the ground. Still don’t have a stove yet…just trying out the ground for now. Looking forward to seeing how you use the Warbonnet on your trips!
Thank you sir, I appreciate you stopping by ! Yes for sure, I like to use a cot in my hot tent when I can, like I said it’s good to have options ! Cheers
Options are good! I am really considering taking another go at hammocks, but those under quilts. expensive. The bannock with the blueberries looked awesome. And you didn't forget the syrup lol
11 years ago my first underquilt was a DIY one I made out of a poncho liner. It worked great. I have a video of it. No way I was going to forget the syrup !
I was looking at hammocks last night for the same reason, wanting a better nights sleep. I may be bouncing a few questions off of you. Great video brother, and thanks for making me hungry again, HAHA! Be good.
Sure thing anytime ! I’m not an expert here, but I can certainly give you some advice. I was kidding myself the past year and a half, thinking I could sleep just as well on the ground, I just don’t. There is a huge learning curve with hammocks that I believe you need to be willing to get through. Most people give up on them too soon. Talk to you soon !
I have a soft spot for tents. I just find there to be less to worry about and feel like they are more of a complete shelter for gear and all. I will say that I definitely find it easier to get up in the morning when I use my hammock on trips. I do feel like hammocks excel in the Whites. The ground is almost always uneven and with the hammock you have little to worry about in that way and have plenty of trees. Like you said...options. Part of the planning for a trip right?
Another great video. That coffee bannock looks delicious. Would mind sharing your bannock recipe? After watching your videos I have looked online but there seems to be many different recipes. I have never made or tried it, but want to give it a go. Regards Mark
Thank you ! Sure two cups flour, quarter cup sugar, teaspoon of salt, tablespoon of baking powder. That’s the base. After that you can add whatever you want ! Cinnamon, dried fruit, raisins, brown sugar, anything you like Cheers !
@@MeetMeOutside Why did you decide to get the 0 degree? What temperatures did you use the 20F in? I am deciding between the two and am leaning more towards safe than sorry. Thank you for the video!
@@SeeThePotential I ended up realizing that I would rather be a little warmer, than being a bit cold if I was out near the limit of the 20 degree, I can always vent it a bit. I don’t have that set up anymore. I’m back to the Warbonnet Eldorado gathered end hammock. I just missed the simplicity .cheers !
Tight gear. That pancake was divine. Beautiful camerawork. D😎🇺🇸PDX
Thanks brother, Peace ✌️

That is nice: is that the color they call dark pine?
Thanks man, the hammock color is called Dark Foliage, Peace ✌️
Great camera shots: what type of cameras did you film with?
Thank you bud ! Lately I have been using the Canon M50 mirrorless. This video, I used it with the Canon 24mm 2.8 Cheers
What is the colour of that underquilt? Looks sweet
That one was called “ Dark Foliage “ and 20 degree, I’ve since obtained a 0 degree Wookie, Thanks for stopping by man !
