I love how Rocko was head bobbing all the way till that final "scream" where he went "WOW!!", a sign of a man invested into the song i'd say. And dang.. that's one hell of an impressive listing of bands he worked with, certainly a giant in the industry.

Drummer is magical, he plays with time in amazing ways, makes this bands songs key changes seem magical. Oceanborn 1998 is many peoples all time fav album.
A lot of people seems to be new to nightwish and usually ignore older albums. As someone who started listening to nightwish back in 2000 i adore their earlier albums a lot. I'm talking not about singing, but sound of earlier albums which they pretty much never replicated ever since ( not that they needed to).

Rocko likes the old school hard rock/metal, i.e. melodic and classically influenced. Good news for him, cuz with Nightwish (and how about Ayreon eh?) there's a whole new (old school) world of melodic metal waiting for him to explode. Went to Summer Breeze Open Air last summer and most of what Rocko described as non-melodic, fast paced pissed off stuff was on full display there. Went for Epica of course, who stood out in quality of composition and musicality & on stage fun. Good job again Joel, Cheers from Amsterdam! 🤘

9:21 THey most definitely do use a click track, mostly because they also have a lot of back tracks like the symphonic orchestral recordings and additional voices that they need to keep in time with.

And don't forget that this concert took place in the same year that Nightwish officially announced that Floor Jansen would replace Anette Olzon as lead singer. Floor joined the band in the middle of the 2012 world tour when Anette Olzon, who was pregnant at the time, unfortunately had to pull the line and couldn't finish the tour. This concert was recorded just a few months later. This is amazing!!! And there's no doubt that besides Tuomas' brilliant composing skills, Floor is the one who really helped them unleash the full potential of their songs!

If he wants metal with 'technique" and "melody", from a band that doesn't look "pissed off", then he's going to have to change his underpants after seeing LOVEBITES.
That is sad. The bassist Marko is a proficient singer. And is much missed. For me that is kind of like when Tarja left. Tarja is now replaced by Floor, and I do not think anyone minds. Also a fantastic singer, but different. The fantastic drummer Jukka is replaced with another phenomenal drummer, Kai. Not the same style. More power and less animated. But, I would say it is a more than fair change. Kai is a beast. But Marko? He is replaced (as bassist) with another Jukka. Know nothing about that Jukka, but I assume he is a good bassist, otherwise he would not have got the job.
He will enjoy exploring the whole Nightwish catalogue!

@@rolandkarlsson7072 Hes a great bass player yes, but he is not hired to do vocals, so Marko won't be replaced on that front.
Well technically Jukka is still with the band, but as a manager behind the scenes. From what I remember, his insomnia has gotten better.
